Food for thought

Really enjoyed the presentations today. Lots to get me thinking, especially as I have an exhibition coming up. Thanks for organising it.

As always so good to hear Jason’s…

As always so good to hear Jason’s artist story. Also to hear the VAA updates and Shirley-Ann’s section.
I would have loved to see Jason’s art installations as he was speaking about them in the slide show, I had to Google them on another device to see them.

Inspiring and Insightful

This was such an inspiring session and really boosted my motivation to carry on creating. I would've liked some interaction with the comments as there were lots of questions that may have been missed during the session! But this was minor compared to how brilliant the session was at supporting and advising artists to be better!! thank you so much!

What every artist needs

I feel very fortunate to be part of this organisation. Especially trying to establish myself from start in my new country. It can be a daunting experience and with the help of their mentors, everything seem less overwhelming.

Friendly and encouraging

In my dealing with VAA, I have found them friendly, quick to respond, willing to offer help. I especially appreciate as a relatively new organisation, the family feel / community spirit they are trying to build, which is even more relevant during the pandemic.

Recommend VAA 1000%!

I joined the VAA at the beginning of last year, when the pandemic threatened to shut down many avenues for artists to thrive and exhibit work. They were friendly and welcoming from the off, which cannot be said for most other artist organisations in my long experience.

I first joined as a regular member, however once I understood how useful their resources are to me, plus how encouraging and supportive they have been, I upped my membership to the full membership. It is an absolute bargain as you can find new information weekly and it is constantly being refreshed. In fact, I never manage to see/read all of it.

Additionally, they run live events, café webinars with interesting and topical subjects with a good range of invited guest speakers.

I feel connected, both with artists and the VAA management alike. The feeling is as if someone has your back in what can sometimes feel like a minefield and a lonely path. I've had really useful 1:1 calls which in any other organisation, would have been charged at £200+. I've made some lovely new friends and connections.

Subsequently, this past year, I've doubled my productivity and sales, kept my head in a tricky situation and I recommend 1000% VAA to anyone - whatever their stage in the art-making journey.
