I live at Vita in York and it is just…

I live at Vita in York and it is just phenomenal. The staff are just fantastic and really go that extra mile to keep you safe, supported and happy. It's hard to pick favourites but Chelsea, Jess, Sophie and Bronwyn are so lovely and have made me feel so at home.
The events are brilliant and are perfect for keeping busy during lockdown.
The staff try so hard to keep the side covid secure. It's extremely clean and I feel very safe.
All in all, Vita is fantastic and I would recommend this to anyone!

Great facilities and events!

They have great facilities and have events on every weekday - even in lockdown! The events are all virtual and they bring the everything I need for them straight to my door! I feel so safe here with all the Covid measurements they've taken. Team members are always there if you want to talk to them and they are super helpful :)

I have stayed at vita student…

I have stayed at vita student nottingham since 3 months ago. This place makes me feel not lonely and not home sick 🤣.

The staffs are very kind and friendly. There is a lot of giveaway stuff such as drinks, food, cosmetic etc. in weekdays activities which is fun. The breakfast has various kind of stuff such as bread, yoghurt, fruit, milk and juice. The public space is large. The room is beutiful and modern. The security is great with 24 hrs staff. There’s bike for resident which I ride to go to school. It’s worth the price.

I love vita student 🥰🥰

Great student accommodation

Great student accommodation! Full of activities and nice staff. The price is quite high but come with breakfast 🍳 in weekdays and cleaning service. The room is fully furnished and has spaces for your items. The gym is a bit small compared to the size of the building but the tools are sufficient. I have visited couple of student accommodation and I can say that this is the best one.

FALSE, HIGHLY UNETHICAL AND PROFIT DRIVEN.

Terrible customer services, false selling techniques and highly unethical company to do business with. 1/10 would NOT recommend.

I booked in Feb 2020 (Before Covid was recognised as a disease in the UK) with an expected move-in date of September 2020. Since discovering my university course was to be delivered online I have no use for the studio and have stayed a mere four times over the past 5 months.

Having already paid over £6.3k for FOUR NIGHTS stay and asking if my agreement can be terminated, I was told by customer services "I KNEW THE COVID RESTRICTIONS COULD GET WORSE WHEN I BOOKED" (even though COVID restrictions didn't even exist in the UK in February). And they have therefore demanded that all future rental payments are due in full.

Also, don't fall for the typical sales techniques of a discount if you book on a certain day like I stupidly did. Because in the two hours of being told about this discount and me actually booking - Vita had "run out of discounts" and so the price went up by just under £10 a week. This might not seem a lot but equates to c.£400 over the year.

Also, don't fall for the other technique that if you refer a friend that you will receive £300 Amazon vouchers. I referred two friends who actually booked the same accommodation and I have been promised this voucher over and over since February 2020 and still haven't received it 11 months on.

The ONE beneficial thing Vita did due to COVID was relieve us of paying the £350 security DEPOSIT.

So I'd avoid this unethical, profit-driven company seeing as they're simply out to make as much money as possible with little consideration of their tenants situations.

SKY HIGH COSTS, ROCK BOTTOM MORALS. This company will make no reduction in costs during pandemic. Not even minimal for breakfast and electricity obviously not being used for months so they are actually profiteering from a worldwide catastrophe. Rooms themselves are not as looked after as they claim, we had to submit photographs of poor state of repair so we would not be charged (as inevitably they would try to do). Microwave was not even cleaned inside during tenants changing. Nearly all students are foreign. This really isn’t worth your money and my son will not be here again next year.

We understand you have been speaking to the Customer Engagement team regarding the above as they are dealing with those affected by the pandemic on a case-by-case basis. We understand your son actually checked-in on 5th September however please reply to the teams email if you haven't already and they will discuss options with you.

To clarify, all of our students are receiving breakfast as usual, it's just packaged instead of fresh baked goods for health and safety, something that actually comes at a greater expense to us. In regards to electricity not being used, we are unsure what you mean by this as all of our lights are still on and all of our private spaces are still able to be utilised by one student at a time. We are not saving any costs on operations and due to the additional events and welfare checks, cleans, packaged food, parcel deliveries etc, we are actually incurring more labour heavy activities and absorbing costs to keep our students safe and entertained during this difficult time.

All of our rooms are cleaned upon arrival so if this wasn't the case when your son moved in then we can absolutely review and apologise if not already, we set high housekeeping standards and have been audited by Government health advisors during the pandemic to ensure we are up to the clinical standard required. All of our team are also trained on infectious disease control and mental health support now.

In regards to the majority of our students not being domestic, we pride ourselves on being a multi-cultural and diverse student accommodation, with students joining our community and family from all over the world. We are delighted to have a mix of cultures and ethnicities gracing our doors as it allows us the opportunities to throw events for other global celebrations and educate not only our students, but also ourselves further. We see this as a hugely positive side of the Vita community so it's a shame if you do not feel the same.

Please do speak to the Customer Engagement team if you have not responded already as they are there to support and advise you further to reach some sort of resolution.

Terrible customer service

Probably the worst student accommodation ‘customer engagement’ I’ve ever dealt with. Slow replies, unless they want something from you, and then they reply within the same hour! Was eligible to cancel my tenancy (due to coronavirus circumstances) yet because no one replied to my email I was still liable to pay and now they are beginning to reply, because my contract has already begun they are refusing to cancel my contract, when I was eligible in the first place! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

We do have policies in place for the impact of Covid-19 however when you check-in to your studio, these are no longer valid as you are living with us but we understand Sam has gone through everything with you in more detail.

Very expensive accommodation

Very expensive accommodation, with a 30% hike in fees for 2020/21. No feedback on e mails. Its a money making machine that parents are paying for!
