Very good service

Very good service, our plane was late and although according to the website we could have been charged for the staff to stay on past 9.00pm, they didn't charge us. Car was good, service was good and return was good.

Avoid these scammers

Avoid these scammers. This is the type of rental agency that “finds” damage and then charges an exorbitant fee. Charged us over 100 for a 1 inch scratch to a plastic hub cap. Money grab.

Avoid this car rental agency at all…

Avoid this car rental agency at all cost! The vehicle had a failing transmission which lost power on uphill climbs and stalled on us several times including once on the busy motorway. A total red flag was probably getting the vehicle with an empty tank gas tank which they reassured us was the way it is done (total lie). Horrible vehicle that had ripped, stained, soiled interiors. Do yourself a favour and avoid giving this company any of your money.

Avoid Volta4u!!

Avoid Volta4u!!! You have so many car rental agencies available in Athens. I would recommend avoiding this one. I would highly recommend an agency at the airport and avoid Volta!

Our car had a dent and many scratches on it. I started it up and the engine light was on. So I asked for replacement car and eventually the manager came out and told me that I am lucky that I am able to get this car. I should cancel my reservation. I paid through Booking.com so it’s almost impossible to get your money back after you pre-pay. I don’t have huge expectations for customer service but he made it clear that He was the customer and we were lucky to have his vehicle.

We bought the extra insurance through Booking.com, but we were still required to have a hold of $1800. I can only remember car rental holds of $1000 or less.

I made a huge mistake by choosing this rental car company. We had rented cars from Mykonos, Santorini, Athens, and Crete with no problems with Avis and Hertz car rental companies. This was a last-minute reservation as we were not planning on renting the car in the last day of vacation.

This agency is not at the airport and you have to shuttle pick up is at the shuttle bus location, which is fine but the drop off is at the same arrival shuttle area, which makes it a little difficult to get to departures

You couldn't ask for more.

As someone who's had some bad experiences in the past, I always approach car rentals with a lot of caution. I'm usually wary of potential issues like credit card shenanigans, unexpected charges, withheld deposits, or suddenly "discovered" damages that were already there. Renting a car in a foreign country adds another layer of anxiety about being scammed.

That's why finding a company like volta4u was such a relief. They offer competitive prices and provide impeccable service without trying to sell you things you don't need or complicate your life with hidden fees. It's a true blessing.

Five stars to the downtown Athens office and the Santorini airport location. I highly recommend volta4u to any Spaniard needing a car rental in Greece. They were 100% professional, helped with everything, explained everything clearly, and treated me wonderfully. You couldn't ask for more.

The card was not accepted, but if you give 100EUR, suddenly it appears that the card is acceptable.
I treat this as an attempt to defraud.
The rental employee assured a refund in case of cancellation, but the money was not refunded.
I would not recommend using this rental service.

Poor Customer Service and misleading Web pages. The Web pages describe how you can take their hire cars to the islands, but the terms and conditions say you need written permission.

Volta4u Web pages describe how you can take their hire cars on the ferries to the Greek Islands, but the terms and conditions say you need written permission - very misleading! I emailed Customer services 3 times seeking permission, - no reply! Poor customer service, very misleading Web pages.

Bad experience, be careful!!

Booked a VW Golf via EasyTerra at Volta4u.
Paperwork said to be between exit 4 and 5 on the airport, but after 20 minutes still nobody with a Volta4U logo… Tried to call them but the number on the paperwork was not in use. Found a number on the website but they just don’t pick up the phone… After some asking around finally found out that there’s a parking space just 50 meteres to the right of exit 5 where all the shuttle busses are waiting, so we finally got in the bus, wasted almost an hour of waiting!

People are working slow, and I had to manually fill in a paper with all the details I already entered when I booked the car, why??
I had to settle the safety deposit with my credit card, but as soon as I pulled out my phone they said only physical cards were accepted! I asked what the reason for this is, because it’s 2024 and their machine was capable of accepting digital cards… “It was company policy” they answered… I quickly found out why they only accept physical cards… During settlement of the safety deposit the guy at the desk took the terminal from the desk and after removing my card he sneakily turned it around and read my CVC number on the back and wrote it down in his papers!! I asked him why he did this and he replied again that this is company policy and it was an extra security in case I would steal the car…. I immediately blocked my credit card as soon as I drove off!

The VW Golf I had booked turned out to be an 7 years old, bruised an battered Nissan Juke with a weird smell.. Which was sold to me as a free upgrade because it was bigger than a VW Golf… It drove very bad, especially compared to a VW Golf and made a lot of noise… It’s just a rental, we are on holiday and I don’t mind driving an old Nissan Puke, but I’ve paid for an VW Golf and there were far better deals for Nissan Jukes on EasyTerra!

Shuttle bus drivers are very friendly and returning the car was very easy and quick, but you probably won’t see me next time!

Unprofessional

Unprofessional , the man who works there was actually polite , pick up from airport woman was impolite as it could be , just disgusting , same as the drop off lady , i returned the car 1 day later while talking with them on the original date half hour later , yes my bad ,I obviously paid for it extra , the thing is this woman acted as she’s my wife or something b*tching on the phone and told me the liability money would take 1 month to get back , obviously a lie , cuz I contacted the site I booked it from . Never go there . That’s why they have it on Google permanently closed , so people can’t review it . Just go and see the ratings

never again with Volta4you

I had to pay 30€ extra as Ryanair flight arrived at 23:30 and I was there to pick up the car after 23:00 and also 30€ extra when I returned the car at 06:00(my flight was scheduled for 08:45) and not after 07:30.And of course the booking was via Ryanair website and of course nothing was mentioned about this hidden charges.I had also to pay 5€/day for adding an extra driver although I had chosen and pay full coverage insurance including extra driver coverage.And of course they reserved 744€ as warranty although I had full coverage.Never again with them,so simple!

Another scam, just avoid them!

Another scam! I rented a car through Booking.com
the company (Volta4U) didn't provide me with the car as agreed as I had debit card but not credit card. They told me they will cancel the booking themself and I need to contact Rentalcars later and ask to pay me back the amount. Now Rentalcars don't accept responsibility and says I should have contact them immediately and not after my trip!

Don’t fill up the tank, collect early don’t expect the car to be in great condition.

I received a car from the airport for an 8 days hire and filled up the tank. I found the next day that the horn was not working. I called them and they offered to replace the car with a new one. The replacement car fuel level was below half. When I asked to have the tank filled like the one I returned they refused to do so saying that it is against their policy. I insisted but then I found I was wasting my time and holidays. I lost 30 euros on fuel and 1 morning to return the car.
I also had to pay 30 euros because I collected the car after 21:00. This charge is on the website but it is very difficult to find and can easily be missed. I had to return the car 4 hours before my flight to pay the €30 again.

Excellent service from the lady at the…

Excellent service from the lady at the airport. She was funny, friendly and very helpful.
We landed 9.30pm and what was shocking that the EXTRA CHARGE of 30euros which we had to pay as it out of office hours and it was nothing mention on the website when I book it online!!!! Which is big NO.
Car ment to be full in fuel and it was just nearly half way there so luckily we noticed that and did photos.

Abhorring treatment over a rental

Abhorring treatment through their Rentals.com by Booking.com service a(I cancelled my Booking.com account already) as I was to be charged €1,000 deposit for a €20 rental for a single day, which I thought it was ridiculous regardless of whether it was written in their policy. Although the rentals company cancelled the rental booking, Booking.com did not refund, and as a result I cancelled my account with them while I had to rush to find a different rental in the middle of nowhere, in the dead of night after a delayed flight. Absolute disgrace. Look elsewhere.

Always found Volta OK.

Volta are OK to work with IF you remember they are a budget car organisation. If you want to chop and change or not stand in a queue then go to a "main stream provider" of rental cars but pay more. "You pays your money you takes your choice". I have never ("touch wood") been falsely charged for damage. Generally the cars supplied are in good condition - some almost new. The "web offer" prices are really "economic" (we don't do "cheap").
The down side to low prices is the number of staff available to deal with customers and the high "security deposit" charge placed on the MANDATORY credit card. Debit cards won't let Volta take any money after damage is done during the hire. In my case the money was not actually taken from the credit card but "blocked" and is released again after some days. So generally a good experience. I would always consider them when hiring cars in Athens.

rented a car in Nov - but deposit money not returned blaming the bank after 2.5 months

rented a car in Nov , for 40 euro and they took 773 Euro deposit. I have been following up ever since costing me international phone calls to get the money back and no avail. they blame it on their bank or their card system or i am not sure who elese. the manager is not talking to me . all i can talk to is a clerk at Athens airport. What a shame . what a scam... stay away form this company

The worst company ever

The worst company ever. The whole price for a car for 3 days was total 100€ however at the collection of the car they were yelling following their insane request for a security payment of 1,700€ which obviously we did not have to pay! They through us outside their shop without even thinking that we had an infant with us. Luckily we remembered the name of another company we have been cooperating with who have immediately assisted us!!!! People please stay away from this fraud Company!!!
