I’ve used the VSCO app since 2015, back when you could simply buy a filter pack and keep it forever. I loved the film-look presets so much that I bought every single pack they offered. Ever... See more

Worst attitude to customer care I’ve…
Worst attitude to customer care I’ve experienced in years.
3 years ago I purchased every VSCO Film pack available... spent well over $400...
Recently I needed to reinstall the software into Lightroom CC as the LR upgrades didn’t carry over some important profiles.. and the VSCO packs has been upgraded to include support for new cameras...
I logged in to my VSCO account to download the latest versions and discovered that they’d discontinued the products earlier this year....
Granted, it wasn’t without warning. They had sent two emails in the past year advising that support would be discontinued in March 2019 - but those emails went unnoticed, since I have also received several irrelevant marketing emails from them over the years. I agree, my fault for missing those notices.
So I couldn’t download the latest packs with full support for my current cameras, but I still had backups of the original installers from 2016.
Except the installer asks for my serial numbers for each pack.. I can only find two emails with serial numbers - I’m missing the remaining order emails...
The VSCO website has an ‘account’ area where your details are kept, and show your purchase history... or at least it used to. Now it doesn’t show my licenses, serial numbers, or invoices. All gone.
I can appreciate that some companies deprecate their products to concentrate on other technologies... but is there any viable reason to remove customer’s purchase history from their account profile? Keeping it there for users to view isn’t going to cost you anything, when the user account is still visible... it smacks of spite..
I emailed support and asked if there is any way I could get hold of my serial numbers and if possible, anywhere that I might still be able to download the last installers that were available...
Adam replied and while very polite, reiterated what I’d already discovered - two emails were sent previously warning of the impending termination of product support, so unfortunately there was nothing they could do.
I wrote back and expressed my disappointment, admitting that I’d missed the emails but having spent a lot of money on every single product of theirs, I would hope that they might show a bit of compassion and try to help... it’s not like I need Support in using the software - I just need copies of my license keys in order to continue using it!
Adam wrote back and said if I can provide a screenshot or evidence of an order and serial number then he’d try his best to help and would be waiting for my reply...
So, I sent the serial numbers that I DO still have, and the order number and breathed a sigh of relief that I might still be able to carry on using the products I had licensed.
Unfortunately, it appears Liam intercepted the email before Adam, and either he didn’t read the thread, or just couldn’t be bothered.. his reply went:
“Since payment was received by VSCO and your VSCO Film products were downloaded already, the Terms of Use agreement has been fulfilled.
We can no longer offer VSCO Film since the product has been discontinued as of March 1, 2019.
For more information on our Terms of Use, please see:”
Not helpful in the slightest... basically.. we’ve got your money, thanks, now go away, don’t bother us again.
Well I won’t. I won’t be spending a single penny on their products again, either via iTunes/App store or direct...
The reason? Because they do still have access to the latest installer packages. They also still have the serial numbers and my purchase details available to view... they’ve just disabled access to it from user account profile pages...
You can get to the disabled pages by going via one of their business partner websites, and you can see your account page as it was before they discontinued support for the product... every product, downloadable, with your serial number displayed underneath...
So they COULD help.. they just don’t want to.
Fortunately now I can still use and reinstall the products I’ve paid for, but guys - do you ever ask yourself why software piracy is rife when you treat your paying user base like this??
Still some of the best balanced tools…
Still some of the best balanced tools around. It's a great loss that they've discontinued their Lightroom presets. But I will keep mine as long as I can.

Used to make very nice and beautiful presets in the beginning. Package-1 still the best imo. However the latest packs not on par with all the respect.
