Extremely disappointed with Vueschool.io.

I subscribed to their Black Friday offer just to check out a few courses during the promotion period and then immediately canceled my subscription.

To my surprise, I later found out they had charged me for three additional months! No notification, no email, no reminder. Absolutely nothing. I only discovered the charges by checking my bank statement and the invoices listed in my account.

This complete lack of transparency and communication is unacceptable. For a platform that claims to be professional and community-driven, this is a very poor customer experience.

After checking the reviews here, I can see that other people have experienced the exact same issue, which makes it even more disappointing. I definitely do not recommend it and will never subscribe again.

Best org to start learning Vue

In my opinion, this is the best org to start learning Vue and its ecosystem.

They have great courses to familiarize in different concepts and it feels great to implement what you've learned in your day to day activities as a developer and see results of the well designed classes!

Vue School: The Gold Standard for Learning Vue!

Vue School has always been my No. 1 destination for mastering Vue and the entire Vue ecosystem. Their video courses are world-class - exceptionally high-quality, deeply comprehensive, and created with incredible attention to detail.

Whether you're just stepping into the world of Vue or you're already a passionate Vue developer, Vue School is an absolute must-have learning companion. Their content is pure gold, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Vue School has been an outstanding…

Vue School has been an outstanding investment, especially with the lifetime plan. The lessons are clear, practical, and always up-to-date with the latest Vue and Nuxt features. The instructors explain complex topics in a simple, structured way, and the platform constantly evolves with new, high-quality courses. It’s easily the best learning resource for anyone serious about the Vue and Nuxt ecosystems.

Expensive and outdated

TrustPilot says:
"By submitting this review, you confirm it’s based on a genuine experience and you haven’t received an incentive to write it."

The reviews on this site by Mostafa Said are biased. He's an instructor on this and other sites. Not a good look!

The hard sell marketing is off putting, but I decided to take advantage anyway of a chance to look at their VueJs Mastery 2024 course for free (taught by Mostafa Said with a thick Egyptian accent).

It was a long course with lots of useful examples, but a little light on explaining the guts of the code. Our brains need good foundations to build on when learning complex topics. This was rushed IMO.

That is their flagship course, not offered as part of their base deal. Their other courses are dated, made years ago with older versions. They need to drop their prices accordingly. The web dev world moves too fast to charge premium prices for older code.

One last thing: I support dev instructors getting paid for their work. It's tough to find a course price balance between corporate employees and poor students. They're different markets.

Great courses, but disappointing customer service and renewal policy

I’ve been a Vue School subscriber for a year and was very satisfied with the quality of their courses — they’ve truly helped me improve my skills.

However, I was very disappointed by how their automatic renewal and customer service are handled.
I believed I had canceled my subscription renewal, but I was still charged $180 without any confirmation or warning.

When I reached out to request a refund, I was told it wasn’t possible because of the number of videos downloaded.
The issue is that all my downloads were made before the renewal date, during the previous subscription period that I had already paid for. I haven’t downloaded or used any new content since the renewal — I only logged in to check what happened.

Despite explaining this clearly, support refused to make any exception, citing their policy.
It feels like a very rigid and unfair approach, especially for loyal, long-term users.

The courses themselves are excellent, but the lack of flexibility and empathy in their customer service really damages the overall experience.
If you sign up, make absolutely sure to double-check that your auto-renewal is turned off if you don’t want to be charged again automatically.

EDIT:
After a few follow-up messages, Vue School ultimately agreed to issue a full refund as a goodwill gesture.

It's unfortunate that it took several exchanges to get there, but I'm glad the situation was resolved fairly.

Disappointing experience with Vue School

I want to share my disappointing experience with Vue School. I recently discovered that my subscription was automatically renewed, despite my intention to cancel it. Upon requesting a refund, I was informed that their policy does not allow refunds if more than 10 videos have been downloaded during the subscription period.

While I understand the need for policies, all my downloads occurred before the renewal, and I haven’t used the service since. This feels like an unfair application of their policy, especially since I reached out the same day the charge was made.

I expected better customer service and flexibility from a platform I once valued. Be cautious about their subscription policies and refund practices if you’re considering signing up.

Update :
After leaving my initial negative review, Vue School reached out to me and eventually agreed to process a refund as a "gesture of goodwill." While I appreciate receiving the refund, it is disappointing that it took public feedback and a negative review for them to take my situation seriously.

It’s clear from my experience that Vue School strictly adheres to their refund policy unless pushed publicly. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly encourage you to leave a review or make your concerns visible, as it seems to be the only way to get them to reconsider.

While the issue was ultimately resolved, this approach to customer service leaves much to be desired.

Vue certification exam

I did the Vue certification exam for at least 9 times. Every time I had a chance I asked for feedback about what I should focus on to pass the exam and I received lots of help on that. I would like to thank you personally Shailee that was one awesome person. She is always kind and helps me to find my gaps. I am waiting for my last exam results and if I pass I will be so happy but if not I will keep trying till I get Vue 3 developer certification.

Outdated and Overpriced

I got the lifetime access thinking I would be getting a lifetime of up to date proffesional level Vue information. I was quite wrong, the quality of the courses is not much better than plain youtube tutorials, many sub $20 udemy courses have the same or better quality for a significantly cheaper price. As of writing this review the "master class" and most of the other courses were based on the outdated options API, and its taken literally years for them to do it with the composition API. From the small amount of their courses I did take many of them are outdated as well with no updates. On Several occasions the video player on the site would not work making me download the videos, the SD videos did not work, only the HD ones. After trying my best to overcome the limitations of the service I tried to get my money back but was told no because I downloaded too many videos, videos I downloaded because the website wasn't working. I am now out hundreds of dollars and still using alternatives to learn Vue properly. Now that I am stuck having paid for it my time is still better spent elsewhere than wasting it on their overpriced courses.
