Wanted tweed Gillet with matching Cap, looked across a few companies but was spoilt for choice at Walker and Hawkes. Great range of colours and matching accessories.
Cant fault the transaction from start to finish - will definitely use again.

Bought a jacket on 01/01/2026 two weeks later I still have no jacket, no contact from the company at all and only an automated delivery update. I've had to do a charge back on my credit card, absolutely horrendous company to deal with.

I've had my coat for maybe a year and only wear it in the winter months ( Dec -March were i live in the US.) The zipper broke last year and I had to have it fixed and now one of the buttons has one off.

Bought a women’s gilet, loved it! I have since ordered another coat directly from their website.
Only comment is the packing, would be great if it came without the plastic and maybe in a box.
But aside from that it’s great quality and I love wearing it.

If you want to buy a decent wax cotton jacket, then don’t buy one from this company! They are absolute rip-off merchants. I paid £90 for a cotton wax jacket and when it arrived the quality was disappointing. The fit is also absolutely appalling, with baggy sleeves and the length being quite short. It made me feel like the Michelin man wearing it. I think that a bin bag would be a better fit than anything that this sorry excuse for a company manufactures, and it would be cheaper! Seriously, £90 for such an abomination is an absolute crime and the owner of this company should apologise to the British clothing industry for being so hopeless at fulfilling the very purpose that it claims to serve. Walker and Hawkes should stop referring to themselves as an authentic British clothing company when they fail miserably at creating decent clothes that are obscenely overpriced. It is an insult to any trademark British clothing company out there. The belt buckle on the jacket already broke after a few wears and the overall jacket just feels cheaply made. When I raised this with them they only offered to resend another jacket, but I would rather have my money back as the quality is absolutely abhorrent. Avoid this place at all costs!

I have purchased another wax cotton via Amazon from this company and honestly feel that they must send seconds to the Amazon warehouse for distribution, as I have had three coats in succession from this company, and all have but one been returned due to a fault with the zip, as they keep jamming. The last jacket I bought, I had to literally peel myself out of it when the zipper got stuck yet again. Inferior and not what I expected from an Established English outlet. Poor quality and rubbish customer service as they didn't even offer to repair the zipper. Unless you can afford to waste your money I'd buy from another supplier.

I have just received my second mens hawthorn wax jacket. I have had one in brown for a while now, and love it. I have now got one in black, they are British made and of excellent quality. I cannot rate them too highly, speedy delivery, excellent quality and keenly priced. Keep the wax coating in good condition and they will last for years.

I ordered a ladies waxed hat from this company. It arrived two days later. Very well packaged with a lovely personalised note thanking me for my order. The hat fits perfectly & is very good quality. Happy to recommend them & will order from them again. Thank you.

Purchased Jan 2025 Jack Murphy Erin Long Waterproof Riding Coat.
Whilst the quality of the coat is excellent the zip however is not. I have worn daily since I received it, sadly the zip is not 'up to the job' now takes many attempts to 'do it up' extremely frustrating!!!
The pockets need a 2nd diagonal 'easy access' pocket.

I’ve had 2 mens waxed gilets and worn them every day for about 3 years, been excellent.

An packaging error meant that the wrong size waistcoat was delivered, this was returned at W and H's cost. The correct item was sent after the original one was returned at W and H's cost. They have a returns centre here in France which made the process simple. Also worth noting that items delivered to France are free of post-brexit import charges and delivery is within days. There was a communications glitch but the matter is resolved. Cannot fault the quality of the garments that I (and my wife) have purchased from them.

I bought a hat from Amazon. They kept stalling and didn't send the product.

I find them very reasonable to deal with as a company, but sometimes the quality lets them down, hence only 4 stars.
For example, I ordered a fleece gilet earlier this year. It came with very smooth-running YKK zips, and was of such good quality that ordered another two in different colours. I was disappointed to see the spec of the zips has changed to a generic one. They are still great quality gilets but the zips are clunky to use, and stick a lot.
This experience would not however stop me from from buying from them again.

Very impressed with my new W&H wax coat. Just what I was looking for. It seems good quality and fantastic value and delighted its made in GB.

So disappointed with my long waxed drover style coat. It is not waterproof and rain has soaked through it from almost day one. It is now 2 years old and has been consigned to the bin! It replaced a far cheaper similar coat that was still waterproof after 20 years constant wear, but the zip broke and it looked its age. This Walker & Hawkes coat been rewaxed twice but I have lost faith after being soaked through to my skin for the last time. Incidentally the company received an email from myself a few months after it was purchased, but never replied. I really couldn't recommend this product or company and have now bought a replacement elsewhere for less money and can now stay dry.

I recently bought the winchester gilet (sized for a chest 46-48,I am only disappointed that there are no press stud slimming designs incorporated into the base of the otherwise perfectly well made bit of kit. I would happily pay £5 more, with that facility.

The website is unconnectable, it’s a difficult system to view products interested in purchasing, I’ve tried numerous times and still unable to access!
Very frustrating and certainly not good sales system

Bought a cap recently, very good quality and at a very reasonable price. I ordered the wrong size to start with but it was easy to return and the money was refunded within a week. Highly recommend.
