I wish I could give 0 stars. The tax refund deposit is a lie, they’ll kick it back and say they don’t have the money to fill it or who knows take your money. Not a single damn money card employee speaks English. I didn’t fight for my rights to have my money stolen by people who can’t even communicate effectively with me. This whole card seems like a scam. BUYER BEWARE, DANGER DANGER. Also they’ll say they’re gonna send you a personalized card but don’t worry you’ll never receive it which will limit what you can do with the card. Also direct deposit payrolls will never hit on time. Oh, man. There’s so much I could say but I’d stay far away especially from “Sasha” if that’s her real name, rude and unhelpful, worst supervisor I’ve ever spoke with, I would t have given them that title. People just be smart and stay away.

Avoid theft of your money by avoiding Walmart’s debit cards. This is my experience.
I purchased a Walmart debit card and immediately transferred 200 dollars to it at the register. At that point problems with the card were activated.
Walmart refused to accept the card with there system refusing to recognize it, so did any other store or ATM. When I approached customer service in a Walmart store about the problem, I was told that they can’t look into the problem and that I need to address it through the website. When activating the card, the automated service would rush through entering the card number, making entering the number difficult and frustrating, timing out before I had time to enter the complete number.
I complained to BBB about the card. The result was Walmart sending me another card in the mail which did not work, just as the first card. In the mean time a free is continually being charged every month for my having possession of a non-working Walmart debit card.
Enven though the card could not be used, Walmart continued to drain money from the amount that I initially deposited on the card. Monthly fees were being charge, even though the card could not be and was not being used.
Calling to resolve the situation was also pointless. When I finaly got a hold of a generic answering center in some foreign county, I was told that the drain of the account is normal, that nothing could be done about the fees, and that there is nothing wrong with the card. After being refused any resolution to the problem with the Walmart debit card, I insisted that the account be closed. For which I was confronted with the operator insisting that I provide a reason why I would want the account closed. And my dissatisfaction of the card was not acceptable.
Today, the account is still slowly being sucked dry, month by month. The Walmart debit card account has not been closed, and I have not seen any of my 200 dollars.
So unless you are interested in Walmart stealing from you and driving you to an early grave in added aggravation, avoid Walmart’s debit MasterCard.

They charge for using my money by deposit fees, withdrawal fees, and even inquiry fees. They stole a $200 deposit that I made at customer service desk. You showed a deposit in my account,but by the time I went to my vehicle it was withdrawn. Customer service would not help amd told me to call Green Dot. So I did and got no help there either.

I got a Walmart money card to use as a debit card. I was never able to verify my email address so that I could move money into a savings account. Then they started charging me a monthly fee and refused to close my account until my balance was a $0. They keep sending me new cards but I just keep shredding them. It's too much of a hassle to use this debit card!!!!

I love Walmart!. We have delivery service now with the Walmart on Murphy Canyon Rd. and they are very good about giving you a refund and if they don't have a item you ordered , they give you one just like it and if it cost's more , you only pay for what you ordered. All the delivery people are very nice! Thanks Walmart! Chris & Dianna Rottner

Horrible customer service and they let companies steal your money i even filed a dispute and it was denied they dont help u and dont care the hotel manager said they returned my deposit but they said no and that i need to file a dispute so i did only for them to denie it

Well...have had this prepaid card for several years but will NOT renew it again. I have received NO emails from them giving me my card balance and when I went to the website I couldn't log in despite getting a security code AND giving them my password AND when I was asked for my Pin Number I wasn't allowed to enter it on the screen. This is probably the best thing to happen because this card just sucks your money up in fees. Bye Bye WalMart Money Card - you don't want to be accountable then I am GONE!

Excellent prepaid card. Monthly fees were lower than other prepaid cards. I highly recommend.

So ive been a customer with walmart moneycard/greendot for a year now. This week thousands of people in massachusettes that had their card associated with the pandemic unemployment got their accounts closed and their money held illegally. I reached out to Walmart moneycard and was told to call unemployement and that they were holding my money. I did that. They said they dont even have the ability! So i called back again and was told it was the IRS. I called them and the ira had NO CLUE what I was talking about. So I called back for 8th time and was told tough theres nothing to be done. I said I was going to seek lagal help and the supervisor informed me good luck bwating oyr lawyers then laughed and hung up. Horrendous company

They always need more cashiers & less machines like the personal touch of humans

the low IQ reps on the live chats refuse to help you and instead give you a run-around to refresh your page and click on chat for help. It's insulting. Not only that, the live representatives more than half the time are clueless on how to help you when you call and are not professional in the slightest!!

I really enjoy using the Walmart GreenDot MoneyCards and the app available online makes it that much easier. Walmart Moneycards are always my go-to debit card choice.

What a joke. Green Dot Bank, who manages this card, is NOT a bank. I grabbed one of these cards when I lost my debit card. If you buy something, it holds a authorization EVEN AFTER the actual charge posts. Obviously they need to make sure you have funds, but once the charge posts ANY bank matches those and drops the duplicate auth. With this faux bank you have DOUBLE your money held up. When I contacted them, they won't release the authorizations. I won't have my money back for 30 DAYS and they will do nothing about it. Just crooks. Plenty of prepaid options. Go to a real bank, not these morons.

the most horrific experience i have ever had with a company whatever you do NEVER get the walmart money card

Ok I like Walmart but they spelled my name wrong on my prepaid card with 300.dollars on it for my vacation be I couldn’t access it it took me over 3 1/2 weeks and they only give me $30 back I thought that wasn’t very Nice so I don’t buy my pre-pay cards there no more and my feeling were hurt

My Granddaughter recived a Wal Mart money card as a gift. When I tried to activate it they asked for my S.S number. I told him that it was a one time use that I won't give them my S.S number. I feel that you should not have to give that information to them. Unless you plan to keep the card for future use. So bottom line I was unable to get it activated.
