AuthPoint

I have questions about AuthPoint, I'm struggling to get it working after following the manuals.

I've had it about 6 months now and haven't had any support, nothing. True I've missed their phone calls (although they only let it ring twice), but I've called them too and been on hold for over an hour at a time before giving up.

The written ticket support responds that I need a call and keeps repeating they can't give me a walkthrough and I should take their courses and examinations - even though I'm not after a walkthrough at all (I think I'm 80% of the way there and I've got 30+ years experience so I think some pointers alone would be sufficient if they're really busy).

I just give up........ I'm not taking a qualification for something I'm only going to admin once a year, and their support don't want to support me, they're making me beg and feel bad for just a five minute chat that I don't think I'll ever get.

Really regret my choice now, I give up.

A phone that nobody answers!

My 1 star has nothing to do with Watchguard products, but with their regional distributor services. Or lack thereof.

It seems Watchguard sells hardware (Firebox product line) and software services (Endpoint security, Network security, MFA and so on). Nothing to say about them, because I had no chance to know anything of them.

I am tech consultant currently located in Portugal and Spain and I am surveying the security market for a client of mine, a Tech and Retail business that sells consulting services, operates MSP services at various levels and owns eCommerce websites and marketplaces.

I was interested in knowing further about Watchguard services' features for businesses, so, on July 19, I have called Portugal office — which seems to be a third-party vendor / distributor, whatnot.

Their answering system picks up the call automatically using their company name — which apparently has an English name uttered by Portuguese people that obviously have no knowledge of English, as I could not even understand their business name, and I'm American-Portuguese. I called them twice, at 2:02PM and 2:04PM.

The calls are automatically disconnected out of the blue after a short time, whatever the option number chosen on the keypad of my cellphone, and no one answers. I tried two options, out of three. The first one disconnected after 2 min 42 secs; the second, after 2 mins 38 secs.

You guys call this a service? If I was Watchguard, I would choose my distributors / vendors wisely, because, for sure, I'm not going to refer Watchguard to my client, especially through a vendor that deals with potential clients / partners this way.

Get real! We live in a dog-eat-dog business world. If this is your approach to business, I'm sorry for you. Good luck with your business, because I am moving on to the next security supplier on my list, deleting you from it. Have a nice day!
