Watch Strap was overpriced + customs duty

The watch strap was already overpriced, but then I got stuck with €11 of customs duty. I note that the value on the customs declaration was a mere £5.26, while I paid €32,95. I guess I should be grateful -- customs duty on €33 might have been far worse. Some kind of warning on the customs duty business would have been nice. This is more than I spent on the watch.

'every order truly means the world to us'

I ordered two straps January 3rd meeting their value requirement for free delivery (Royal Mail 1st Class according to the website).

There is no tracking of your delivery so I emailed for an update both 5 days after ordering and 7 days with no response. I then followed up with a cancellation email on the 9th day all with no response. The customer service is non existent which is enough for me to never use this company again.

Fortunately the items did arrive the following day (day 10 on a supposed 2-3 day delivery service). The quality is as expected for the price paid so I am not disappointed.

It's just a shame that a simple thing such as communicating with your customers has lost them future sales and recommendations.

Please don't respond to this review WSS, I don't need your fake concern for this issue.

Took my money but didn't get the product

It is with sadness that I write this review as what started well, went wrong. I ordered a strap from Watch Strap Style (The Horology Group), it arrived but I'd ordered the wrong size. I contacted them and Martyn said I could send it back with my old strap and he would send me a new one. I received an acknowledgement that the new strap had been shipped - all going well so far. BUT..... the replacement strap never arrived. The Post Office said that they had delivered but my daughter was in all day and it never arrived. We had two other deliveries that day which arrived and are clearly seen on the doorbell camera but not the strap. I contacted Martyn multiple times chasing the strap. He said he would follow up with the Post Office but I didn't hear back from him and he completely stopped responding to my emails. In the end I paid for a product that I never received. That's wrong on every level.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear you didn’t receive your replacement strap, even though Royal Mail’s tracking shows it was delivered on 17 September 2025 at 12:44 by Tonbridge DO.

To clarify, your original order was for the wrong size strap. As soon as you let us know, we arranged an exchange and covered the postage cost for sending the correct replacement to you. According to Royal Mail’s records, the replacement was delivered, but we understand you did not receive it and appreciate how disappointing this must be.

We also want to mention that our packaging is letter box friendly, so delivery can usually be made even if no one is home at the time. Sometimes parcels are delivered to a safe place or with neighbours, so we recommend checking with them or your local delivery office if you haven’t already.

We responded to your last email but unfortunately have not heard back. If you can get back in touch with us via our website, we will do everything we can to assist further and resolve this for you.

Disappointing service

I placed an order on August 26th, and it didn’t arrive until October 3rd. On top of that, I had to pay customs charges, even though the company claimed that all costs were included at checkout. Initially, Martyn Bleasdale responded to my email asking how much I paid in customs fees, but all my subsequent emails — including my refund request — were ignored. The post office informed me that the company had failed to correctly complete the customs declaration. Overall, a very disappointing experience — I would neither purchase from them again nor recommend them to others.

So I have posted two bad reviews

So I have posted two bad reviews. I bought two straps about a year ago . The one I use daily was £35 . The dye has worn off it. It has not been in water or any chemicals. It is just not properly applied. I have emailed them twice. I got no reply but to their credit they have refunded£35 to my credit card. That is fine but why not tell me , apologise for the inconvenience and tell me how they are going to correct this in the future. Even replace the strap and ask to see it to identify the problem. They will be made overseas and having run businesses importing products I would go back to my supplier and identify the problem. Most shoes , leather bags etc don’t lose their colour after a few months . The business model could be good if they dealt with the problems. They are not cheap but look good when you first get them. Well done refunding the money.

Leather dye

Product - leather dye - is useless. Unfortunately trying to communicate with them just doesn’t work - they send back emails that indicate they didn’t understand what was written. Live and learn!

Avoid shopping with them

I returned the strap within the policy and have not been refunded or receiving any response to my emails!

I emailed the company on 1 May, asking when I would receive my refund and that the tracking showed it had been delivered to them on 9 April. I received a response saying;
'Hi Lacy,
Let me check but don't worry I'll get it sorted.
Apologies for you having to chase this.'

However, I have had no further update, and my emails are being ignored!

More than 100% as a communicator and trader


Watch Strap Style have a business model that every company should follow and operate by. They address the whole process of a customer’s purchase from the initial order through despatch, delivery and beyond. The despatch of an order is very quick and communications are addressed very quickly too. I thoroughly recommend Watch Strap Style who give in excess of 100% in every aspect as a company to their customers.

An impressive experience

After looking through various websites for leather straps, I came across WSS. The range was extensive and the prices were favourable. I ordered 4 straps and then I remembered that I had forgotten to check Trustpilot before ordering from WSS for the first time. I decided to take a quick look at Trustpilot, to see if there were any bad reviews (Wrong way round, I know!). I was surprised to see quite a few negative reviews and all of a sudden, I started to dread that I would have challenges too.

I decided specifically to write this review, on the basis that the experience I have actually had with WSS, has been brilliant. I made the order for four straps at midday (12.33 to be exact) and they were delivered through the letter box the next morning. Less than 24hrs without paying for next day delivery. Also, the four straps, were the right sizes (A combination of 20mm and 18mm straps). The quality is very good and there is nothing negative for me to say. Everyone has their own experience, however I can only discuss mine and from my point of view, WSS have been amazing

I ordered a watch strap from Watch…

I ordered a watch strap from Watch Strap Style which arrived promptly. Unfortunately I had to return it as it did not fit the Watch and requesting a refund. As I had not heard anything I rang them and they processed my refund there and then. I cannot fault Customer Service. 10/10. Thank you Watch Strap Style.

Wrong strap sent, non-existent customer service

UPDATE:
After posting this review Watch Strap Style contacted me and processed my refund, even going so far as to refund me the shipping costs I paid to return my order. I think this response was very fair of them given the error was on their end.

I ordered a watch strap, it came fairly promptly but it was missing the spring bars so I had no way to attach it to my watch, but more to the point it was the wrong strap. I contacted the company via email about the issue, received one reply simply asking what watch I was planning to use the strap for, and all further emails from me have been ignored. I've now paid to return the watch myself but have not had any update about the return or a refund of funds. I will not be buying from this company again, I'm out of pocket for two lots of shipping for something that is completely not my fault and I'm just hoping at this point that my refund will be processed.

Fantastic strap

Fantastic strap. After being ripped off with another strap company selling a strap that looked like it had come from wish. I thought I would give Watch Strap Style a try and I am highly impressed with the strap. I was that impressed I got on phone and ordered another one straight away.

Ordered a strap on 24th Feb…still waiting

Ordered a strap on 24th Feb. Didn’t arrive as promised. Emailed and received a reply from Martyn who said a whole batch had gone missing in the post. Asked me I I would like a replacement or a refund. I asked for a replacement….still not arrived and no replies to my emails! Looks like the huge number of negative reviews is well-founded! Wish I’d read them before……

Return signed for, no refund or response to emails after 3 weeks

I ordered the wrong watch strap (on the 22nd), returned it unopened the day it arrived with my details, order number, and reason for returning. The package was signed for on the 25th. I waited two weeks before emailing to enquire why it was taking so long to issue the refund. It's now been three weeks and I have recieved no reply, and still no refund.
