Unforgettable Thailand Experience with We Are Summer Camps
Last year, I spent 10 nights in Thailand with We Are Summer Camps, and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life.
For the price, the amount of activities we got to do was amazing. We experienced the real Thailand — from the vibrant nightlife to breathtaking viewpoints, beautiful beaches, and incredible fresh meals every day. Everything was well organised and packed with adventure.
One of my biggest highlights was pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I faced my fears and got involved in activities like water rafting, boat rides, beach adventures, and so much more. It really helped me grow in confidence.
I also improved my photography while I was there and ended up winning the content contest, which made the experience even more special!
Most importantly, I met so many amazing people. By the end of the trip, we didn’t just feel like a group — we felt like a family.
I couldn’t recommend We Are Summer Camps enough if you’re looking for adventure, personal growth, and unforgettable memories in Thailand.

The experience of Thailand with this company was amazing, 10 out of 10. If it wasn't for their time and effort the trip would not have been anywhere near as great as it was. John and Suthida, are lovely, friendly, down to earth individuals, who became our forever friends. They worked really hard keeping us all happy and doing things we wanted to do. If you get the chance go on this experience you will not regret it.

It was a dream come true to experience Thailand with WeAreSummerCamps! Had the time of my life with my mum and cousin. And saw everything we needed to see and do with no complications. Lovely people that know the island like the back of their hand! ❤️

The We Are Summer Camps is a great experience for anyone wanting to step outside their comfort zone and meet new people.

I went on the we are summer camps trip as an influencer in nov-dec 2025 . It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever done! We had a fantastic group of people and even more so the best travel reps , John and Suthida! They felt more like friends than reps! They go involved with the group , planned and organised everything , the whole trip was brilliant! If you didn’t want to participate in certain activities you didn’t have to which was great for those who wanted to wind down a little or go off on their own. But there was a social setting every night for people who was solo and wanted to stay in the group!

I’m going back again January 2026 and so is most of our group it was that good! So if you’re thinking about it just do it . If that’s influencer or solo traveler or with friends! You won’t regret it

Had such an amazing holiday, the itinerary was sent to us before going out so we could have a look at what we’d be doing. for our free days it gave us a chance to find our own activities but the reps also went out of their way to find things for us to do. everyone got along like we’d been pals for years. John and Suthida were brilliant reps and made the experience 100x better and were so accommodating to everybody. got an experience i never thought i would and went to places i never would have gone without the camp. would recommend it to anyone. i’ll forever be reminiscing about it!!

This has been the best holiday i’ve been on. I went on the camp with a mate but was still unsure about how the experience would play out with all the activities involved and meeting new people.

However, once arriving I was pleasantly greeted and informed about how the holiday was going to go. Once I warmed up to the other campers and started to explore, I didn’t want it to end!

Would definitely recommend to anyone. Truly an unforgettable experience which I can’t wait to go on again next year.

At the start when booking I was nervous, however once I arrived and I had John come wake me up as I arrived a day early & had a very late night lool my nerves went away! I done the Phuket-Koh Phi Phi trip. I could go on and on about how amazing the trip was! John & Suthida were incredible day and sorted absolutely everything out, they even went out there way on the free day to find a birthday card for another guest! They made the trip, I had so much fun getting to know them. The guests on the trip were all amazing! As a sober person I thought I would really struggle, however John & Suthida and rest of the group made it so much fun for me & not once do I not feel included.

Accommodation was top tier! Transportation was great! Loved the karaoke sessions in the mini bus.

The highlights for me was Surin beach, Seeing the cats at the animal sanctuary, making new friends and Koh Phi Phi!

I’ve loved it that much I’ve booked We are summer camps again for January 2027.

Where do I start...
From the moment I booked I was supported by my online rep John. I was very nervous at the start when booking as I'm sure a lot of people are, but I was assured once I messaged my online rep. Planning my trip was made a lot easier including help booking my flights which I was useless at!

Suffering with depression and anxiety, this was a massive step forward for me and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. A massive thank you to John for your help and making this trip an amazing experience in resort, well organised and planned.

From the moment I arrived in Bangkok to arriving at the hostel, I was in constant communication with everyone and even met up with others before flying.

My favourite part of the trip was the nightlife in Phuket, I don't go out much in my little town so it was certainly an eye opener for me!

Another great experience for me was eating the Thai cuisine, a lot different from my diet of cheesy chips and irn bru. It's certainly given me the initiative to eat more food... just a little less chilli...

I had the best holiday of my life in Thailand! I ended up going solo and my biggest issue was being scared to be on my own but I made some amazing friends that I still speak to now, if you love animal you have to do this camp as we did dog and cat shelter day and also elephants which is the most incredible thing.

I’d also like to add having reps there made it a better since I haven’t ever been to Thailand before so it was a bit scary at first but having them there was a huge plus. Deffo reccomend to anyone who’s scared of going solo like I was !

A quick summary of the experience we had with this company:

Unprofessional:
- One of the owners and representatives on the trip made inappropriate advances on multiple female trip members in their care.
- The same owner and representative proceeded to engage in explicit acts with a female group member in front of other members on the trip (within 12 hours of the start of the 10-day trip).
- When questioned about the ethics of the activities, we were told, “People need to pipe down in the group chat.”
- the two male reps where rude about other people on the trip.
- male reps where not available to be contacted for long periods of time.
- Actively lied multiple times about who owns the company, the activities we were doing, and timeframes.
- Brought a lot of personal gossip and drama to the group dynamic (a lot of this happened after we left halfway through the trip, and we only know about it as messages were sent by the representatives in the group chat before we were promptly removed).
- When we had a meeting to discuss a refund, we were told this was not possible.
- In this same meeting, as well as in other interactions, the representatives were rude, disrespectful, dismissive, and petty.

Disorganization:
- The trip felt rushed and under-researched.
- The activities felt outsourced, with little to no information provided to us.
- No itinerary until the day of arrival.
- Activities were not open or changed upon the time of arrival.
- I had to leave my personal information and passport with an accommodations reception, as they were unable to contact the trip leader, and the accommodation wouldn’t let everyone enter their rooms without a “liable party.”
- Women who were promised female-only dorms were sharing with strangers not part of the group trip including men

Ethics:
- Our first day trip was to a long neck tribe and despite raising concerns about the ethics and being reassured upon arrival the entire situation felt uncomfortable.
- There were no adequate guides to teach anyone about the cultural aspects; it was about taking a photo and leaving.
- An elephant sanctuary was promised as ethical, but a lot of people were concerned, and upon researching the company, we found indications it was not (we had left by this point as we no longer wanted to engage).

There are 100 more reasons I could list, but a lot of issues occurred after we left the trip halfway through. A lot of rumors and speculation about the owner's personal issues were brought to light, and without 100% certainty of what happened, I want to leave a review only about my personal issues. However, if these rumors turn out to also be true, then not only is this company poorly managed, but the people who work there and own it should under NO circumstances be trusted with the care of the young girls who often join these trips.

There where positive aspects to the trip, the accommodation was nice, we where offered multiple activities and free time, on occasions issues such as a girl with bed bugs where handled quickly and professionally and when we did raise our concerns initially before we left it was handled well however this did not remain the case.

Please read through other people’s experiences and take all aspects into consideration if your thinking about booking this company.

On the first night, one of the group reps suggested to my friend 'she should set up an only fans' which obviously made her feel uncomfortable. He then proceeded to spend the whole night flirting with and putting his hands on a lot of the other girls, and ended the night by engaging in explicit activities between himself and another group member in the hostel pool in front of us.

As a trip that is being advertised towards young people, and is appealing to many young women travelling for the first time, I do not reccomend you book with this company.

UNETHICAL:
Despite this 'travel company' claiming to be ethical, they are not. On the first day of the trip we visited a long neck tribe, which felt extremely uncomfortable.

We were provided with a tour guide who couldn't speak any English, and no-one was available to translate between us and the members of the tribe, so we didn't actually learn anything about them. We were told basically that they understand 'here's some money' and 'can I take a photo'.

Furthermore, as part of the group trip you visit an elephant 'sanctuary' where you can wash/touch/bathe the elephants. I know this is a popular tourist attraction, but it is definitely unethical. When I raised these concerns to trip leader John, he said 'I'm sick and tired of people piping up in the group chat about things being unethical.'

As the trip started in Chiang Mai and ended in Phuket, we had to travel between these places, and many people opted to book the flight instead of the 24 hour bus. When me and my friend arrived in Phuket at 01:00am, there were about people from out trip in the reception of the hostel all very upset about the accomomodation. For example, there were girls in mixed dorms who were promised a female only dorm.

The man at reception was getting very stressed with us and asking for an overall deposit for the group in addition to everyone's individual deposits. He kept asking for John, as the booking had been made in his name, so I said I would try and call him.

I was unable to reach John, so I called the other rep. I managed to keep him on the phone for 59 seconds before he hung up on me. And then text me back an hour and 25 minutes later saying it was too late and they weren't dealing with it tonight, so as the 'most experienced travellers' me and my friend were left to deal with this situation and leave our passports as a deposit for the group of 31 people.

When we spoke with John the following day, we explained that we weren't happy with what had happened, and as paying customers should not be doing his job for him. He told us that apparently his work day ends at 7pm, and no rep would ever be available after this time to deal with issues (despite the fact they never told us this!!!)

We said we weren't happy with the situation and we're going to leave, so I can't comment on the rest of the trip. However as I was still a part of the group chat, I was still able to see messages that proved the unprofessional behaviour had definitely continued, including reps bringing their own relationships and behaviours into the group dynamic.

Overall my experience was shocking, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Please stay away from this company.
