Wedio approached me and asked me to join their platform. All was going well until a malicious user stole some of my equipment. The claims all over their site promise that you're fully covered under insurance. Sadly this is not the case. They offered me nothing in return. Many many others have been affected in this way. They will use anything they can in their terms and conditions to avoid paying you. You are not protected.
I implore you to stay away from their site and services unless you are happy with the risk.

I am really not sure who Wedio are trying to cater too with their website. If you are an amateur wanting to test/use different kit you'll find it nigh on impossible to rent anything as their verification process is seemingly impossible to get past, and if you are a pro you'll still find it impossible too. I'm really not surprised pepole have said their kit is going un rented if this is their strategy.
Apart from the fact that Monika (seems to be the only person working there) takes ages to reply, you're then told that their "Third party" won't let you join. I can understand being careful but when someone has immediately provided: passport copy, selfie with id and todays date, copy of bank statement showing address etc, website of my work, Facebook page showing work, Instagram... What else could the third party require??
Good idea in principle just poor execution, ended up going to Wex (paid £210 for body, lens, flash, card and reader with £5740 soft deposit) but no messing around.
P.S: emailed Monika a while ago now saying all of the above and that if I do not get a reply from her I would post to Trustpilot, hence this review

Firstly, we were both unsure about the exact times he would be able to rent the lens and return it. Secondly, after he borrowed the lens, I was quite concerned about whether it was being handled with sufficient care.

We had our doubts at first, but it all goes smoothly and easy. Thanks to the insurance we were not worried at all while our gear was rented.

The platform is amazing, the UX is very enjoyable and most importantly the customer service is very helpful and quick to follow up. I've even noticed a feature they could implement on their website, and surprisingly they were very receptive and updated in no time!

We had a mishap on our old rental service and we needed a cam & lens asap and this company (Monica via Whatsapp) went above and beyond in finding us someone who could lend us and delivery the cam&lens on the same day!!Thank you Richard from rkcameras! Very unclear sight / service. Was never sure about who got what information, of where I could find what’s glowing on, what money was being payed.
I had to have a lot of direct contact with the renter to understand what he payed. In the end I had to pay him some money back because I could not change the rental price on your site.
Even tho I choose a cheaper price for longer period, your algo seems to choose a more expensive way to calculate the price.. wow this experience was everything else than easy.
Take a look at Hygglo that’s an easy peazy and very clear service

Very poor communication in order to get verified, wasnt told that if it failed i wouldnt be able to try again later, they needed simple paperwork i didnt have for a new job and the didnt verify me.

I have been using Wedio for a year, and I must say it is the best platform for renting and buying photography or videography equipment. Recently, I ordered a BMPCC 6K Pro for a three-month rental, and they provided me with a brand-new one, still sealed. Impressed by its quality, I decided to purchase the camera, and now it's my own. I have been a member since 2021, rent my gear and have rented. It works SUPER GOOD, you can rent equipment to make your footage or shooting even betters using the perfect gear.

The customer service is so slow to repond

Since my first review, I have lost all trust in Wedio to provide full cover for my equipment.
They had offered me a very small reimbursement for such a high value of equipment.
Their global cover did not cover any of my accessories, batteries etc. & their way of working out depreciation is questionable in my opinion.
Really think twice about using Wedio as the ‘Global Cover’ is under their discretion. It’s upsetting that I even have to make this review but me and 30+ people have all been mistreated after using the website for a while.
