AVOID Weight Watchers now - use anything else!!!

When I signed up at the beginning of 2024, I could use the online site and app but they moved all services to app only at the end of April. The app freezes all the time, doesn't give you the option of deleting items and basically crashes over anything. I've deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times but it doesn't get any better. Customer Services does that apology-non-apology thing that is so infuriating. I'm tied to them until September and then we part ways forever. Do yourself a favour - go ANYWHERE else. Or simply use their technique: eat lots of fruit, non-starchy veg, fat-free yoghurts, soya and lean protein. But avoid!

LOVELY RECIPES, GOOD SERVICE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I managed to lose weight and recipes were lovely and very filling on the 8 month offer contract which finishes in August 2024. When I got locked out of my tracker and recorded weight loss progress chart the reply was helpful and pleasant, and came within the 72 hours answering system following a very speedy auto-response . They removed the information from any lap top system unfortunately - gone and no access - but on the positive side one still can access tastey recipes and some info.to the contract date agreed and all is available on an APP. or join a group! They had no record of my account, but on the positive side it was great to see that my details were still registered so I did not feel the need to register again. The customer service brilliant and weight watchers is a heat disease life saver...so highly recommend. Example of fantastic email below:-
"I'm P.........., and I'm looking forward to helping any way I can! Using the information shared, I haven't been able to successfully locate a WeightWatchers Membership account. Please reply with three of the four options below:
1. Account Phone Number (phone number on the account)
2. Account Username (i.e. Username used to log into the app or website)
3. Account Zip Code/Postal Code (home or shipping)
4. Email address on the account IF DIFFERENT from the email account you're writing from
In the meantime, I understand that you're having trouble accessing your WW page. Some features, including meal tracking and My Day, were recently removed from the WeightWatchers website. To access these features, please download the latest version of the WeightWatchers mobile app, which is version 10.63.0. I understand this may be an inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
With more and more members using the WW app, fewer members have been using WW on the web. This change will let us deliver more impactful updates to better support you on your weight loss journey through the WW App.
Many essential WW features will still be available on the web even after April. This includes:
Recipe viewing coming back in late May 2024 to early June, we're updating the viewing of WW recipes on the web
Find a Workshop (including access to Virtual Workshops)
24/7 Support (new name)
Invite a Friend
Account Settings.
WeightWatchers "blog" articles - currently available from the footer of the WeightWatchers website
Certain laptop devices have the ability to download the WeightWatchers app:
Apple Mac laptops (new than the year 2020) or running M1, M2, or M3 - have the App Store and the WW app can be downloaded
Chromebooks laptops will have Google Play store and the WW app can be downloaded

Shady Billing Practices

Enjoyed the program but when I went to cancel it locked me in for another 11 months of payments from my cancel date. This is a scam and if not rectified by their support team I will be filling a chargeback.

Very shady billing practices.

Not value for money

They had a good formula (Blue, Green, Purple) and yet they’ve changed it to this awful plan. I cannot lose weight on 23 points.

If the diet doesn’t work for you they don’t care as you would’ve signed up for 12 months. I cancelled my plan ,but they will still be charging me for the full 12 months.

I signed up for WW for 10 months

I signed up for WW for 10 months, only to find there is no purple plan any more. I am beyond disappointed and now I have to pay until November for a plan I do not want and will not use. I did try to use the new plan, there is only one choice and it does not suit me at all. Very restricted.

Making a Meal

I love the app but so disappointed that you've taken off the option to make some tracked foods into a meal. I used that option all the time. Makes tracking so much harder

Couldn't cancel my membership

Unfortunately this programme didn't work for me for many reasons - having realised that a few months in, I wanted to cancel my subscription but unfortunately I was told I will have to keep on paying for it for an entire year. Distressing and expensive experience, I wouldn't recommend signing up for it because if it doesn't work for you, you won't be able to cancel your subscription. Such a pity, I really had my hopes high for this one!

Cancelled a monthly subscription on the…

Cancelled a monthly subscription on the day that I subscribed. I made weight watchers aware of this and the following month, they took the payment via PayPal. It appears that their email is unmanned or maybe they just don't bother reading them, who knows. Based on this shoddy service I feel it fair to warn everyone to steer clear. I guess its cheap for a reason

Really poor and clunky app

Really poor and clunky app. Very limited library of food to check for points. Worse than that, some foods have multiple entries with widely varying points / values.

Totally unworkable and very very glad I was on a one month rolling contract so I could cancel it within a week.

Pity, because the points system is actually a very good idea. If it was backed up with accurate and comprehensive detail.

WW is Hotel California

I signed up in September 2023 and cancelled on January 2, 2024. I got email confirmation of cancellation. Apparently, WW is Hotel California because you can cancel anytime, but they will continue to charge until your "agreement" is up.

The only way to contact WW is M-F from 9am-9pm. I was only on-hold for a few minutes, so that was good.

The lady who answered was rude right away. She interrupted me while I was giving my email address ("that's not the email we have for you") and kept speaking loudly over me throughout the call. She was clearly reading a script.

When I explained the problem, she told me I had agreed to 10 months, which I do not remember. She said something like "Well, you agreed to it." This is where the call went downhill quickly.

I asked if I could have that agreement emailed to me. She said it was sent to me in September, when I signed up. I told her I do not have it (I really don't--I checked), and can she please have it sent again. She repeated that she will not send it because I already have it. I had clearly stated twice that I did not have it and requested it be sent to me again.

If this agreement exists (I don't remember as it was months ago, but maybe it does), they should easily be able to re-send it to me if I request it.

But beyond that, I am not happy with the new WW. I lost only 5 pounds in the 5 months I did it, and I do not agree that the "zero points" list is the way to go. The new WW just does not work for me, and there is nothing wrong with that. Weight loss programs are very personal, and people have to use what works best for them. I did WW years ago, and it worked so much better.

Even if I agreed to 10 months, I should be able to cancel if I am dissatisfied and not using it. I'm not asking for a refund for the 5 months. I am asking for no further payments for something I am not happy with and no longer using. I am also a business owner, and this is a completely reasonable request, even if there is an "agreement" that I don't remember.

I have disputed my payment with PayPal and also filed a complaint with the BB. WW has refused my request for the original agreement, which they absolutely should provide without question. I should not have to dig through my email to find something sent months ago.

I will never use or recommend WW again. I guess WW needs my $50 more than they need positive customer reviews.

Taking money when cancelled

I tried to cancel my subscription in August and went all round the houses. Told to email to cancel. Email sent back to me to say I had to call to cancel. Called to cancel. Then had a payment taken in October. Did the same thing. Payment taken again at end of
October and in December. No one to speak to at weekends. Emailed again. No reply just an automated saying to call. Now raised as a complaint with my bank as taking money with no authorisation. How do you get away with this? It is theft.

I have been following WW for over 30+…

I have been following WW for over 30+ years. I was so disappointed this week to see Oprah admit that she taking the weight loss drug Ozempia. WW prided themselves as being a drug free weight loss program and were always telling members to not get tied up in the pills and fad diets. Now Oprah decides that she is doing it, so it is all right for members as well. She is going against the very thing weight watchers promoted for years. I know she has millions invested in your company but this should not give her the right to be the WW poster girl for this product. I know she is a very powerful lady but please stand up for the very thing that WW stands for. A weight loss program done the right way and not Oprah's way.

Horrible program

Horrible program. Horrible customer service. Beware of any deals. If it's for a set amount of months at a set rate you will be billed every month even if you cancel. There is no way to pay in full and no options to pay an early termination even though the contract states that it exists. This program is a rip off. Waste your money on something more worthwhile. Basically, I'm stuck donating to this terrible company until my contract ends. ANY program out there is better than this one. It's the worst I have ever tried or delt with and it does not work or produce sustainable results. Its cookie cutter, not customized, don't waste your time or money. I knew it was terrible after genuinely trying it out for a month and at that point I was stuck for a full year. Beware

Fraudsters hiding behind small print and T&C's

Its clear that I have NOT used any of their services for over 2 years. Yet somehow its my fault I didnt pick up that £13.95 was leaving my bank account each month. They rather generously have refunded me, "as a courtesy" 2 months. Clearly this multi million pound company need £306.90 more than me.

I misspelled my email in signing up - and was billed for a service I never had access to

I misspelled my email in signing up, so I was never able to login and never received an email confirmation. I did not understand what went wrong and gave up on it after as they did not have any obvious contact information on the website and I didn't think it went through. Turns out the registration process does not validate the email, but I was being billed every month without using the service or having access to it. Unfortunately, I only noticed these charges 10 months after. I still had difficultly finding their contact but my bank shared a number to call when I reached out to them. I called WW and the best they could do was just end my subscription at the end of the year contract, so I would still be billed for 2 more months! When I objected to that they basically said it was my mistake and questioned why I did not call earlier. When I asked to escalate the best help I could get was terminating the membership immediately, and refunding half of the charges (as they said they can only go so many months back).

I am obviously not amused for having paid for a service I did not use. I think any decent registration process validates the email, as misspellings can happen. I asked to get free access for a few months to make that up, but they said that was not possible! I would not recommend using this service for those reasons. I cannot speak to the content as I never had the opportunity to see it!

Shady practices of increasing fees

The app iteself is decent, has glitches like any other program. The sneaky part is when your promotional pricing expires they do not inform you of the cost increase. I noticed it and addressed it on the same day it was charged to my account. (double the cost) and cancelled. However they said they cannot refund the next months fee- which had not started and no notice of increase was afforded. Shady, bad bussiness model.
