Closed Account. No warning.

I had a Health Advantage account through Wells Fargo, limit of 2400, they closed the count with zero communication cause they ended the program, screwing up my credit utilization rate entirely due to current debt issues I'm facing, this has not reflected on my score yet but I'm now expecting a harsh drop after spending the last year trying to pay stuff off.

My Name is Max

My Name is Max
25 years ago I open a personal and business bank account with FIRST UNION . Then Wachovia bought out FU. Then Wells Fargo bought it over.
So I am personally and business exclusively with WF. I can say I have total 10 accounts with them.
Actually I am so frustrated by their customer's services. They help you zero about each issue you need to pass hours to have somebody in charge of it.
Considering the volume of our transactions and amount of cost for all services we deserve to have much better services. I told them we are going to switch to a bank who appreciate better their clients like Chase Bank.
It's decided will be done soon.
This review just let the public know better WF.
Thank you

Wells Fargo will report you to Social Service for Elderly Abuse!

Do not do business with the Wells Fargo branch in Alameda, CA, especially with financial advisor Ben Szeto (CRD# 3271827). He claims to assist elderly, non-English speaking clients but provides poor financial guidance, particularly for retirement accounts, making withdrawals and account closures difficult. Attempts to close accounts are met with reporting to social services for elder abuse. This branch demonstrates unprofessional behavior and a serious lack of ethics—seniors and vulnerable clients should be extremely cautious.

Not helpful

Wells Fargo was the only bank not accommodating in helping waive late fees for those affected by the govt shutdown. The only reason i have a cc with Wells Fargo was because when i moved i opened a cc with bob’s furniture and it happened to be with WF. Will def close the cc and not care if closing it will affect my credit score.

They suck

They suck. Everything about them they keep messing with my accounts and taking money out after months and with me changing my cards as well. Customer service especially sucks. Hire some people that know English. I’m about to cancel my account and find somewhere new.

I hate this bank

I hate this bank. I wish I could give zero stars. This bank has become so corrupt and fraudulet. Wells Fargo was never a great bank but it was slightly better then they started getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Ive had this bank for over 10 years unfortunately. The credit card is a scam. They've sent me random checks for overcharging interest.... Thousands of dollars, I thought it was a scam until I called and researched they've overcharged me years of excess interest. Glad I got the check to reimburse me though. Next is the checking accounts and fees and overdraft charges. They now have AI managing the over draft fees. Even if you call to explain your story, they have a computer generated system that determines the outcome and there is NO WAY to change it after. Only allowed one over draft reimbursement per calendar year. I was in the hospital and racked up over 100 dollars in over draft fees. I called WF and explained that I didn't even have access to my phone to check my balances... I explained this to the agent and was told " you can manage your account and balances online or in the app" and I explained I didn't have access to a phone/ computer etc... " you can manage your checking accounts online or in the app... they didn't care at all. I even escalated to higher up agent and told them I could submit any proof verifying dates of my hospital stay etc. was told that I need to manage my account online.... This bank sucks. I can't stand it and cannot wait to switch

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. I opened up an account on a Tuesday. I received all the emails and text messages about the account being open. Tried to set up online banking and another number is associated with the account I opened, now the bank is asking for that phone number instead of the number I opened the account with. I call customer service and they inform me because I don't know the number they cannot help with getting the number off the account. Customer service then proceeds to tell me to wait until I get my card in the mail and they can use the card number. Card comes in the mail I call customer service back, now Im being told they cannot get the number off without the account number! the account number that I can't get because its not allowing me to get online banking and they no longer send account or routing numbers in the mail. mind you all of this is to get online banking and they are asking for a code number customer service has to give me in order to log online, but even though I gave them everything, besides the account number I don't have access too, I still was not granted access and was forced to close my account I only opened up 5 days ago. Let me state again, I am receiving all the emails from Wells Fargo and certain text messages about opening my account, but the code to set up online banking will not come to the same number. I am livid!!!!

Wells Fargo used to be a bit better…

Wells Fargo used to be a bit better with customer service but then they switched over to agent offshore who know nothing and do not know how to get banking service. All they know how to do is multitask from their home, which is not professional if you’re messing around and representing my bank, you’re hired to do your job. Wells Fargo comes first personal life will come last.

Wells Fargo shouldn't even be allowed…

Wells Fargo shouldn't even be allowed to operate as a bank. Their past history with fraud and dishonesty should have been enough to yank their license...

I have my home mortgage through WF over the last almost 20 years and they have been a straight nightmare to deal with at every turn.

I will never do business with this bank again. Their customer service people are retards. Nobody at this bank cares about their customers. It's just the biggest collection of morons on earth working here basically.

They said checking was free if I kept a $500 balance which I did, then without warning they billed me a fee. I called and was told they tripled the minimum balance to $1500 so I closed my account. I don't support or recommend businesses that treat customers this way.

I applied for a personal loan and was told my credit score was to low? How did you get this score Wells Fargo with a freeze on my account? I was approved and closed on my house with a score of 736 with United Veterans on 12-09-2025. Blind sided truth of the matter I got played.

They owe me money

I use to love Wells Fargo, until they made (by their mistake) a transfer to a bank that I don't have an account with, I made the claim and they close the claim and I still have to paid the money for the transfer. I'm still fighting.
So sad I always thought it was the best

I was actually a little disheartened at…

I was actually a little disheartened at having to close my account today because I'd had a great experience up until today when I actually had to reach out and speak to a WF representative.

I have a check for $2500 I tried mobile deposit yesterday and I the images were fine the app didn't accept it tells me to bring it to a brand and so I try again today and same thing. Nearest branch is 135 miles away.

So I reach out to CS and get a guy who investigates and says nothing is the wrong anywhere to try again in a couple hours. This is my paycheck and I'm now two days beyond where I normally would have had access to my money. This doesn't register any other response from this imbecile drone so I say someone can do something. To which the agent says "No, sorry." So I tell him then I guess I need you to close my account. You never heard an gay man take off working so quickly in your life. He began typing immediately and updating what he was navigating through giving me every last detail of the process of closing my account for me. So I guess you have yourself a winner there Wells fargo. This man was not about to put forth a microscopic effort to help me get my check into my account but was ice cold at losing Wells Fargo another customer for life. I can guarantee you that if Wells Fargo is involved with any transaction I make for my next 40 years I will reverse and go a different direction no matter what the cost any party involved. Great effort WF. Trash company just like your score here on trustpilot suggests.

If I can give a negative rating

If I can give a negative rating, I will do it. First of all, check the bank first for reviews before opening an account. There is a reason this is voted as one of the worst banks to have. Second, their customer service is overall untrained to properly or even give a decent quality service. Awful and complete waste of time to have this bank at all
