Why would you lock a job seeker in a 12…

Why would you lock a job seeker in a 12 month contract? I should be able to subscribe for one month and cancel. For instance, It doesn't make sense for me to get a job in the first month and end up paying for another 11 month while not making use of the platform.

Introduction of the jobseeker subscriptions is the pinnacle of corporate greed

I posted multiple jobs over a few years and the experience was OK before. But after posting my last job post I realized that they now require job seekers to pay a subscription fee to apply. That is on top of hundreds of dollars that I need to pay as an employer to post the job. What a nonsense! This paywall scares away most of the applicants.

I reached out to them and asked to remove the JD and refund me. They said they introduced the paywall for the job seekers to "improve overall application quality" and refused to refund.

Shouldn't the employers be the ones who decide what applications they want to receive. If WWR really cared about employers, they would introduce this paywall as an option that employers can enable or disable. What a lame attempt to disguise their greed.

Eventually we received very few applications compared to the previous posts without the paywall and we couldn't find good candidates.

As I said, we were an old customer of WWR and overall were satisfied, but we will never use them again!

Deceptive, predatory, and designed to trap customers

This company’s billing practices are deliberately deceptive and should not be trusted.
It labels its membership as “monthly”, yet after signing up you discover you’ve been locked into a 12-month contract. This is not clearly disclosed, not transparently explained, and absolutely not what any reasonable customer would expect when something is explicitly presented as monthly.
It gets worse.
Their emails include a “Cancel” button, implying you can manage or end your subscription. But when you click through to the website, there is no way to cancel. No cancel option. No account control. Nothing. It's designed to mislead users into thinking cancellation is possible when it is not.
The entire system appears engineered to trap customers through confusing labels, broken cancellation paths, and refusal to resolve the issue.
Let’s be very clear:
A membership labeled monthly should not secretly bind you for a year
A “Cancel” button that leads to no cancellation mechanism is deceptive
A legitimate company does not force customers to involve their bank just to stop charges
I had no choice but to escalate this with my bank to block future charges. If this platform were confident in its value, it would not need to rely on misleading anyone.
Predatory. Dishonest. Unethical.
Avoid unless you enjoy fighting to regain control of your own money.
I will be making sure to let people know not to fall for this.

Doesn't work, cannot cancel

Their subscription didn't provide more than 5-10 jobs in total

I was searching for AI Engineer Job, most help was from the Job Copilot which required separate subscription, their subscription was non-cancellable and I found no use, stuck paying 15$ monthly for a year.

Fraudulent Platform

FAKE JOBS - FRAUD - HOAX ❌❌❌

Let me get started with the job listings. Most of the job listings are fake and are posted by scammers.

The platform takes advantage of job seekers by robbing them. Once you sign up, there is no way to unsubscribe, even if you delete your account. I was still charged even after reaching out to support and deleting my account.

The support is pathetic, with very slow responses. They trick you into adding your card details, and then they charge you repeatedly.

There is no option to unsubscribe in the settings.

This was recommended to me by Toptal. I wonder if Toptal is legitimate.

Stay away from this platform.

Scam

Scam. After the free trial period they will still charge you for $15 , I tried to cancel the subscription but there was no option. Only option available was to permanently delete the account. Few weeks after I got charged. Btw the jobs on there barely get updated. Been using it for nearly 3 weeks and only seen the same jobs

Scummy subscription scheme

Scummy subscription scheme. Be aware they promote 2.95 monthly subscription , which is actually a yearly subscription and will bill you monthly 14.99 through out the year without any possibility to cancel it until one year passed. It’s shame that it is still possible in web for such a big global platform to earn money by tricking users .

Very deceiving subscription service…

Very deceiving subscription service with limited job listings. The subscription service states you can sign up for for $2.95 the first month and, IF NOT CANCELED, incur a reoccurring $14.95 monthly charge for the premium membership. I canceled my membership under a month's time and they charged me for the following $14.95 month's premium charge that I did not sign up for. I am currently disputing the charge and have still not received confirmation of my cancelation. The provided We Work Remotely phone number given to my credit card company continues to go directly to voice-mail. Seems to be a very deceitful operation that is scamming people of their money.

WATCH OUT FOR THESE CLASSIC SCAMMERS

WATCH OUT FOR THESE CLASSIC SCAMMERS :

Now , I am a freelancer working on many platforms , so I thought of exploring new one, so came across this. At the time we sign up , the very intellegently pass you through a routine process of signup with a disocunted first month subscription and for a new person on the site who have been working on other sites , they feel that its no issues, so I paid that $ 2.95 first month and 14.95/next months , anyways , so while checking the jobs and the website for a day or two I realized there are not enough jobs in my niche , on this website , so I thought Its better I cancel my subscription with them , so I won't be charged next months onwards. and this is 2nd day after joining. Soon I realized that there is no way for me to cancel the subscription. and then I contacted the support team, and they said , they will cancel my subscription but will be applied from next year and you will be charged for every month to come even if I don't want to , I kept saying that I don't want to use your website, but they kept saying they you agreed to that at the time of signup , this is a classic scam ! like the monthly charging and discount for the firest month ! you are offering that, so that people thing its a monthly membership they are signing up with! but what in reality is they want to take your money every month ! regardless of you using their website or even if you clearly state to the support team that you don't want to be charged. I believe this is a very sketchy way of doing business and they must be reported everywhere so that other people could be saved from being scammed by these scammers.

Don’t do it

Don’t do it. I tried to cancel after 1 month but it’s a 12 month contract. Jobs repeat or can be found on other platforms that don’t charge you a premium. Despite the fact the service does not meet my expectations they refuse to cancel and maintain I’m required to pay the balance over the next 11 months. What happens if you find a job in the first week of utilising the platform? You’re still liable for the next 11 months - nonsensical and antiquated. Better platforms out there with more recently posted jobs.

Warning: Pro "trial" bills for 12 months, cannot stop

The Pro subscription bills for 12 months, and cannot be stopped. The terms read "By purchasing the Job Seeker Pro Subscription, you agree to pay a monthly fee for a 12-month period. You may cancel at any time, but all paid subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law," which to them means not that you can cancel but won't be refunded what you paid, but that you cannot stop paying for a year. Attempts to stop payment from the payer result in both a late fee and $30 charge each time.

The only way to cancel is by email.
The Account page shows your "expiration" date at the end of the month and does not show when your annual terms end.

I deeply regret signing up as an unemployed person for the $2.98 "trial," who does not have $14/month for a year to spare, especially given that the board doesn't show any jobs in my fields.

Misleading Billing Practices

I signed up for what I believed to be a $2.95/month trial. The ambiguous website did not make it clear that this would lock me in to a 12-month recurring subscription. Support was completely unhelpful and rude about the situation. They are a scam company -- you can't even cancel your subscription from their website (you must email support to cancel).

Limited and unhelpful

Support is rude and unhelpful, interface is poor and only suitable for specific job fields (tech). Very limited I canceled same day.

Update: They also tried to get my review removed claiming it was “defamatory” despite refusing to help when I reached out in multiple instances for help.

Absolutely DO NOT TRUST this website.

Absolutely DO NOT TRUST this website.

This platform operates in a highly deceptive and unethical way. They auto-renew subscriptions without clear consent and deliberately do not provide any option to remove or change your card details once added to a job seeker account.
This is not a mistake, it feels intentional and predatory. The lack of transparency, poor account controls, and complete disregard for user consent makes this platform extremely unprofessional and untrustworthy.
If you value your money and peace of mind, stay far away from this website. There are far better and more ethical platforms out there. I strongly regret using this service and would not recommend it to anyone.

I signed up for a trial at the $2.95…

I signed up for a trial at the $2.95 rate and decided the platform wasn’t worth continuing. I canceled on Thanksgiving — two days before my trial expired on November 27 — using their website to toggle off auto-renewal.

Despite that, I was still charged the full subscription rate.

I contacted support immediately. They that there was no indication that auto renewal was discontinued on my account and implied had not made the changes that I had claimed. When I followed the direct link from the invoice back to my account, the dashboard clearly showed auto-renewal as discontinued.

Despite stating my case and submitting the proof of website/account inconsistentcies support refused to issue a refund.

Whether this is due to technical failures or borderline deceptive support practices, the result is the same: customers are charged for services they explicitly canceled.

To make this even more absurd — their website is STILL showing that my account will be renewed on the 27th of December.

If you choose to use this platform, document and screen-record every single step of cancellation, including dates and confirmations — because their system clearly cannot be trusted, and their support staff will not resolve it after the fact. Lastly, make sure you contact their customer support in addition to toggling off the auto subscription from Internet browser

Proceed with caution.

Don't do it!

Don't do it! I lost a thousand dollars on this company - they said they'd rewrite my resume for me, and they did. But I told them I wasn't happy with the rewrite and they told me I don't know what I'm talking about (and then asked me to tip the writer!). They were applying for jobs I thought weren't right for me, and they told me I didn't know what I was talking about. All this company does is separate people from their money. AVOID.

Updated based on a good customer support

I’m updating my review based on a follow-up experience that completely changed my perspective.

After my original review, the CEO, Bryndis Henrikson, personally reached out to me. She apologized for the poor experience and explained that our issues coincided with the launch of a new system, which unfortunately caused the problems we ran into. She let me know those issues have since been fixed.

She also went above and beyond by providing a refund and offering a free coupon to post again, taking full responsibility and genuinely wanting to make things right. I really appreciated her transparency, accountability, and the fact that she took the time to personally address the situation.

Because of how professionally and thoughtfully this was handled, I’m changing my review to 5 stars. While the initial experience was disappointing, the way it was resolved speaks volumes about leadership and customer care.
