Scam. Immoral organisation; impossible to contact

Today my friend and I took her elderly mother to University Hospital in Wales. We used the Wheel Share, free for 6 hours and then £2 per hour. Initially we thought it was great. Then when we left we were unable to return the wheel chair. We followed the return process and when we put the chair number in the system was not working. The screen said:

The station is temporarily not operating

We tried the support line but it didn’t even ring so we also emailed, including pictures of the message and station.
We eventually got through to the 24/7 support at approx 5.30pm in the afternoon and were told to go back to the hospital and check if it’s working now; or to contact hospital reception and ask them to go check.

Wheel Share expected us as carers for an elderly person to travel 40 miles back to check if their system was working; or they expected NHS staff to do it for us.

They may have an agreement with the NHS that their staff will provide tech support for your systems. We did call and the porter said this is not something he is responsible for. Regardless, both to expect us to return or the NHS staff to support their tech is totally outrageous.

So we are now waiting for the coats to start pouring in. We sent urgent messages to all the Wheel Share staff on LinkedIn and have had no replies. We have also emailed with info@ email a number of times but had not reply.

Such a disappointment. The product seemed so awesome but I guess it proves nothing is for free.

Making as many reports as we can so that others don’t fall into the trap of this utter scam.
