Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 250 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported that their appliances, including washers, stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves, stopped working or malfunctioned shortly after purchase, some within months or a few years. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with product quality, such as a washer tank rusting, a dryer stopping after 10 minutes, or a refrigerator light failing prematurely, indicating a lack of durability. The customer service was widely criticized for long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and an inability to resolve problems, often leading to frustration and repeated calls without resolution. Many also expressed dissatisfaction with the warranty process, finding that advertised 10-year warranties did not cover critical parts or that service providers were unwilling to honor them, leading to significant repair costs. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that despite initial damage, their issue was eventually resolved with a replacement and follow-up, suggesting some positive outcomes in specific cases.

Whirlpool sucks I ordered a part using the customer service. I got no confirmation email. I got nothing. I have no information to work with their website. Their phones don’t work their live chat doesn’t work. You can’t get anywhere. It would be easier to just go to a parts store and ask them to order it because nobody in the whirlpool website helps

Terrible customer service, the worst

Terrible, terrible customer service. A customer with an issue can not get anyone on the phone without, today, an estimated 55 minute wait. I am still waiting for a customer service agent to respond on the Live chat on their website. They have told me three separate delivery days with no explanation, so waited 4 hours today and no one showed up. How do they stay in business. Never again will i deal with Whirlpool.

Waste of money Whirlpool products and customer service are garbage

Absolute nightmare of a company and only have two repair companies they honor in all of LOS ANGELES!
After taking 4 days off of work and having Applianc Doctor Specialist fail twice to show up (then decided to cancel) still waiting for a repair person to show up tomorrow to fix a machine that has linen bedding stuck in it. Machine was salvaged years back yesterday still have and have to argue no fight over the phone to get them to recognize the serial number and that I pay $50 a month for a stupid warrantee that doesn't do any good. Have been waiting for a manager for over 10 days to call and am about to take them to court to replace the machine with the Lemon Law which they skirt around saying some bullshit reason or other. Please respond and I will continue to write reviews and make calls. Whirlpool is just AWFUL. All their reviews are 1 star at the best. Be informed and do do not buy their products if you expect customer care.

They didn’t honor my 10% off and free…

They didn’t honor my 10% off and free shipping. They lied several times. I’ve made several phone calls trying to make it right. They was rude and did not honor it. they told me they billed afrim one amount. The amount of afrim is

showing as much more. I will never buy whirlpool online again. I’m buying a new washer and dryer, but it will not be whirlpool.

Gave up and asked for a refund

Absolutely worst company. NEVER buy from their website. I've been waiting for 2 weeks for a delivery. I move a business trip to be home today. 1.5 hours into my 4 hour window, they decided to reschedule delivery for another 2 weeks! I had to cancel my order. No offer to do anything. Horrible customer service.

Where is the zero star

Where is the zero star? I purchased a washer 27 months ago, the washer stopped moving from on cycle to the next so I contacted Whirlpool via social media, I was offered since I did not purchase an extended warranty was told they would offer an extended warranty thru Domestic & General, I contacted them and told me to contact Whirlpool so the run around. After a week of this I contacted a local repair place to look at the washer. I am now waiting for a part to repair. Whirlpool when I told them the cost of the repair basically said they offer a warranty which I told them what I of told by D&G and was basically told too bad for me. They will not even stand behind their appliances which they sell knowing they will not work past the 3 year mark and if you have the extended warranty it last 3 years so no honoring it either. Never again purchase a Whirlpool, Maytag or other Whirlpool made items

Stay away from Whirlpool

In July, 2024, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine. A few months later, I had issues with it and because it was under warranty for a year, someone came out. 15 minutes later, they left my house saying everything was fine. Less than 1.5 years after I bought the machine, the entire thing died. The transmission went out. I was told it wasn’t fixable. I tried contacting Whirlpool countless times. They were completely unresponsive. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product ever again. They have the worst customer service and have no regard once they’ve sold their products.

Whirlpool/Kitchenaid is the worst…

Whirlpool/Kitchenaid is the worst company to deal with, very unprofessional customer service, if i could have given ZERO STAR rating i would, I purchased whole Kitchenaid suite the refrigerator pooling water from day one, very noisy, reported the issues to whirlpool within hours of delivery, they scheduled two companies to come out and repair, the first company was a disaster, the brought a baby thermometer instead of an infrared thermometer. The came out a total of six (6) times with no solution, when asking them questions about what is the problem they are rude, told me they are here to fix not answer questions about what the problem is that is Brandt Appliances. The next company came out a total of four (4) times. The technician did all that Whirlpool recommended still no fix. Eventually they decided to replace it they sent a delivery company named JB HUNT to deliver a new refrigerator five (5) months later, that company has was no better the new refrigerator they allowed it to fall from the truck at that point it was damaged but they tried to still bring it into my house and i refused the delivery of damage merchandise, I contacted Whirlpool letting them know what had taken place at that point i demanded my money be refunded, they told me they have to arrange for the refrigerator to be picked up first i told them the delivery truck is still out front have them remove it, they told me they cannot do that they have to reschedule a pickup, however the pickup came on 10/31/2025 to inform me they have no room on the truck to remove the unit. Had to call back whirlpool wasted yet another day from work. My microwave malfunctioning they sent Jetson wrong information stating the microwave is 10 yrs out of warranty, all my appliances was purchased May 11th 2025, Jetson asked whirlpool to resend them the correct documents i spent all day trying to get the corrected documents sent over to Jetson, i keep getting the run around from Whirlpool and agent to agent having to repeat myself over and over, Jetson is saying one thing whirlpool is saying something else, Jetson is only willing to deal with customers who purchase from them, Whirlpool is aware of that and Jetson is trying to scam money from Whirlpool and then the customer. I would be weary dealing with Whirlpool and any of the other companies affiliated with them.bunch of scammers and thieves.

Received a refrigerator from Home Depot…

Received a refrigerator from Home Depot with a broken handle. My local home Depot told me to contact Whirlpool directly for a replacement under warranty. Unfortunately nobody picks up the phone there, you get dumped into an IVR maze instead. There is no contact form, and
chat is pretty much unstaffed. I left a message and my contact info along with my registered serial number for my refrigerator however I don't see my request for a replacement handle being fulfilled unless I interact with a live chat agent in real time. Good luck getting ahold of anybody human over there.

Go elsewhere

Would not recommend this company to anyone just purchased a new home which came with my whirlpool oven. I’m aware of things happen. It’s about what you do when they don’t work. I’ve been without an oven for two months only to find out today they only came out to diagnose and didn’t even bring me a new one, even though I have carbon monoxide Seeping through the house from it with a four-year-old child in the house. This is unacceptable with they asked me to do is unplug it and turn off the electricity to it and wait another 4 to 5 weeks before they will have me a new one on top of that they tell me they may not even have someone to install it for me, I may have to find someone myself isn’t that why I bought the home so I wouldn’t have to deal with all these things. They really didn’t care just kept explaining that it takes a month to get what you need I would not use this company for anything. This was model number WFGS5030RZ and then they tell me that if I want one I have to get on site myself and pick out a new one, but of course I only have extra amount of dollars I can spend or I have to pay for the upgrade which I understand but they didn’t even want me to get the same model that I already had. They wanted me to downgrade are you kidding me what is happening to this world?

Oven control board failure at 18 months

I purchased a Whirlpool range (Model WFC150M0JB3) on March 17, 2024, from Menards. At just 18 months old, the control board failed with an E6 error code. The oven won’t properly switch from the broiler element to the bake element, making it unusable.
Here’s where it gets interesting: I discovered that Whirlpool released an UPDATED control board (part number W11594224) on May 2, 2024 - just 6 weeks after I purchased my range. This timeline proves there was a known defect with the original control boards.
When I contacted Whirlpool customer service with this evidence, they claimed they “make updates all the time” (classic PR deflection) and only offered a minimal discount program. No acknowledgment of the defect, no accountability for knowingly selling faulty products, and no willingness to stand behind their brand.
To add insult to injury, Whirlpool charges $319 for the replacement part. I found the exact same part from an authorized distributor (Sundberg America, a 100+ year old parts supplier) for $137 - less than half the price.
An $700+ appliance should not fail at 18 months. The fact that Whirlpool identified and fixed this defect for future customers but refuses to help those who already purchased the defective units shows a complete lack of integrity.
I expected better from a major appliance brand. I will be replacing all my Whirlpool appliances with other brands and will be sharing this experience widely. Poor quality control, worse customer service, and zero accountability.
If you’re considering Whirlpool, think twice. And if you have this same control board failure, know that the updated part exists and you don’t have to pay Whirlpool’s inflated prices.

What an absolute joke of a company

What an absolute joke of a company.

Have spent 3+ hours in a single day trying to get ahold of someone in customer service through the phone number & online chat with no response .

Purchased a new washing machine 10 months ago for it to completely quit working one day. Warrant is useless if you can’t get hold of someone to schedule a service .

Bought a brand new 2+ thousand…

Bought a brand new 2+ thousand refrigerator. Ice maker never worked. 3 technicians come out and acknowledge that it does not work, one replaces the unit, the last one says, the flip trey was clearly stuck upon arrival and the ice reservoir was empty. But a year later, 3 service calls, I still have never had ice from my brand new unit.
A manager was suppose to call me with a discussion on switching out the unit, they never called, but a rep later told me that they sent an email that they never sent nor could they prove they sent it by resending. They still never called after that.
I also, less than one year on the unit, have rust on my stainless steel door, Yet every time a technician has come out to look at the door, specifically the rust, he has said i am not here to look at that. TWICE. So now it is over a year and I look forward to tomorrows call.
They sound helpful when on the phone, give you hope, but a year+ later, i have had to buy an over the counter ice maker. they never call me despice repeated calls for over a year. No follow up. No repair. I call them clearly mad and agitaged. I want to take the unit to the street and just burn it. But since the ice unit does not work and it takes maybe 10% of the fridge, my wife and i are trying to figure out if we can just remove it and use the space since we were forced to buy an over the counter ice maker despite having an ice maker.
Spent maybe 5 hours, 3-4 days off work, and i am just over it. They should have done the right thing and switched the unit out from the get go.

I have a lemon! Worst model ever

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in July, and from the very first week, I have had constant issues. The water line, reservoir, and valve have all malfunctioned. The filtered water line continues to freeze, which not only prevents the water dispenser from working but has also caused food spoilage and water leaks throughout my kitchen.

At one point, the water filter failed and flooded below the crisper bin, causing water to spill all over. I am now having to pay out of pocket to install a shut-off water valve because the third-party repair technicians assigned under the warranty refuse to go into the crawl space to turn off the water supply.

This refrigerator has been serviced four or five times, and each visit has failed to correct the problem. When I contacted Whirlpool directly to request a replacement since the product appears to be a lemon. I was told that they could not replace it and must “honor the warranty” through ongoing repairs. I was also informed that the technicians were highly trained, but the issue is not with the technicians, it’s with the appliance itself.

I also purchased a 3-year extended warranty, but it has provided no real recourse for me as a consumer. I have lost food, time, and peace of mind. What was supposed to be a convenient feature has turned into a costly and stressful ordeal.

For an appliance that cost over $1,700, I expected reliability and proper support. Instead, I’m left with a defective refrigerator, repeated service calls, and no resolution. I strongly urge Whirlpool to take responsibility and replace this refrigerator

Whirlpool refrigerator compressor broken down in 3 years…

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in November, 2022. Its compressor has been broken down and unrepairable. I contacted them multiple time via different media but no a single contact was answered. Their online chat is always ibot. Customer service call just circulate your call to the menu or machine. Two of my calls went through after multiple attempts but were held for 20+ and 30+ minutes without anyone answered. I will never buy any of Whirlpool products any more. Trash!

The worst product

Purchased a home and unfortunately it has whirlpool appliances. None if which work besides the microwave. Had 5 service requests while it was under the 1 yr warranty and the oven still makes a strange noise. Now they want me to pay them to send out the same company that couldnt fix it the first 5 time because the warranty is expired. Ill by a new stove by another maufacturer before i give them over 300 too fix what shouldve been fixed a year ago. I will never ever purchase or recommend anyone purchase whirlpool. Then the phone agent blamed me for them sending the same company out.

Junk oven

Think this oven is expensive? Just wait until the timer beeps one time and you burn every other meals you put in it. It will easily double its own price in just a year by burning every meal you put in it. Why you may ask? Because the timer when the oven is off beeps incessantly for 45 minutes straight. But as soon. As you activate the bake function it will beep one time quietly the moment you're out of the room. Have the timer set and touch the up down arrow to change the time and nope we just raised the oven temp and left no way to get back to the timer you set. Don't worry though it was going to beep once and burn your food anyways. I swear I've never had a worse oven and don't even get me started on the drawer at the bottom that is somehow always stuck and won't open or close but at the same time seems as flimsy as a plastic patio set. Do not buy any whirlpool oven!!

Do not do business with Whirlpool

Do not do business with Whirlpool. We had a warranty and our refrigerator was unable to be repaired so Whirlpool was required to replace it.
We’ve had 3 failed attempts at delivery, 2 damaged refrigerators and 60 days later we still do not have a refrigerator. When you call for service you are on hold for 30 minutes, you get told what the policies and procedures are, but what you don’t get is someone who helps you, as the customer. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again, and urge you not to do business with these people…the will not help you, they do not care, and they do not take care of their customers.
