Thank you for your positive review Neil. Believe it or not our buyer's commission is amongst the lowest out there, the UK auctions charge anything from 12.5% up to 15%! Estate auctions charge around 20-25% but to be fair they have higher labour and room rent costs due to the nature of what they are selling. We do try to keep our charges to a minimum.

The extras on one bottle of whiskey with the charges vat delivered are tearing the ass out of the auctions ! I bought a bottle for €36 … it was €52 by the time I got it ??? I rest my case ::: I’m taking a break from whiskey bidders and Irish whiskey auctions ::: for this reason !

Hi Richie, thank you for your review. Just to be clear about these so-called 'extras' - the hammer price on your bottle was €36, we then charged €3.60 plus VAT which was our 10% buyers commission. You then opted to have the bottle shipped which cost €9.99 plus VAT (or €12.29 in total). The €9.99 has to cover the courier cost, the cost of the cardboard box and the packaging inside to prevent accidental breakage, plus the labour cost of preparing it for shipping - there is no profit out of €9.99, it just about covers the costs if we are lucky. You could have opted to collect the bottle, or waited until after a few auctions and either shipped a number of bottles together to reduce the overall shipping cost or even come to our offices to collect as you do not live that far away. I do hope that you continue to do business with us. Thanks.
