Whop overcharges and doesn’t do what it promises.

What sucks! They charge a lot more than other credit card processors. They say it’s because they can protect you against chargebacks and that they help traditionally high risk businesses. However, they are just the same as all of the other payment companies. They will hold your funds for extreme amount of times up to six months and restrict accounts in the exact same way as other payment processors. There is no difference, except the fact that they charge you extra money because they say that they are helping high risk companies.

In response to your reply… you are not being truthful. You absolutely hold funds for 180 days. I can post a screenshot if necessary. Not only do you hold funds but you are also a liar. Also it’s important to note that when you say dispute rates are high… you should also mention that there has only been one dispute EVER!!!! And you use that to hold thousands of dollars in funds to merchants for 180 days … not to mention the funds being held have nothing to do with the dispute. Just random funds at your discretion for 180 days… and what makes it worse is that the dispute wasn’t even decided in the other side’s favor.. To be truthful, I said you were just as bad… but you’re actually worse than regular payment processing companies- because even they don’t lock up their clients funds after one dispute

Hey there,

Thanks for your review.

Our pricing is publicly listed, and our goal is to be the cheapest, most resilient place to accept pure payments.

Regarding reserves, in some cases, funds may be placed on a temporary reserve or held due to risk and compliance requirements. In your case, a reserve was applied due to a high dispute rate, which is to ensure you have funds on hand in your Whop balance to pay off refunds if any more disputes come in.

We also do not hold funds for six months as mentioned. Reserve periods vary depending on the risk profile of the account and are reviewed over time. If your dispute rate gets back down to a healthy level, reserves will be dropped!

We understand this can be frustrating, and we are always working to ensure our processes are fair and applied appropriately. If you would like us to review your account or explain any specific decision in more detail, please reach out to us at support@whop.com, and we will be happy to help.

Garbage.

Garbage.
The rep lied about what % they charge on processing. They also charge the fees even when you process a refund.

Hey Allen,

Thanks for your review. We understand your concerns around fees and how refunds are handled.

Our fees are publicly listed and we aim to be fully transparent about how they work. We do not misrepresent processing rates, but if something came across that way, we are happy to review it with you.

When a refund is issued, the full amount is returned to the customer. The original payment processing fees still apply as they are charged by the payment processor for facilitating the transaction and are not returned when a refund is processed.

You can review a full breakdown of our fees here: https://docs.whop.com/fees. Please reach out to us at support@whop.com, and we would be happy to explain our fee structure in more detail.

Best,

This company is a bunch of frauds as I…

This company is a bunch of frauds as I purchased 3 one time items. And now they are charging me $17 per month for a long time and refuse to stop charging me. I've asked support over and over, but they give me the run around. They think it's funny to steal peoples money as I guess they are hard up for money. I suggest no one use this website as it's total garbage and the support is garbage as well. All they do is lie left and right. There needs to be a class action lawsuit filed against this company for being no good frauds.

Hey Monte,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. We take claims like this seriously.

We were able to locate your subscription and can confirm it was canceled on April 18th, so no further charges will occur.

Whop does not initiate recurring charges without an active subscription. In this case, the charges were from a weekly subscription started at checkout on March 13th.

If you have any questions or want us to review the charges with you, please reach out to us at support@whop.com. We are happy to help.

TERRIBLE SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND

TERRIBLE SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND. They do not care about their customers, when you contact them about issues they basically say "Well that sucks but nothing we can do." They claim they offer low rates but charge you for everything. Do yourself a favor and find any competitor of whop

Hey, I get why you’re frustrated reading this back, and I’m sorry it felt like we didn’t care. That’s not how we operate.

I did take a look on our side, and just to give you something concrete here - your information request has already been approved, which you can see directly on your Balances page in your account. So you’re all clear on that front.

On the fees point, nothing is hidden - things like processing fees, buyer fees, and taxes (where applicable) are always shown before a transaction is completed. But I hear you, if it felt like you were getting hit from all angles, that’s something we need to do a better job explaining upfront.

Also worth being real with you - there are certain situations (like disputes or creator-held funds) where we can’t override things directly, but you should always get a proper explanation and help navigating it. If that didn’t happen, that’s on us.

Since Trustpilot doesn’t give us a way to reach you directly, if you’re willing, just reach out to support with your account email and ask for Lucas - I’ll pick it up personally and make sure you’re taken care of properly.
