We are old hands at safaris, in many different countries, but this 5 day safari in Kruger is one of the best, if not the best, we have done. The guides are amazing, always getting us in the right place at just the right time. We saw not just the Big 5, but the Magnificent 7 (with the addition of wild dogs and cheetah). Perfectly adequate accommodation in two of the SAN Parks lodges, especially as you are only spending 2 nights in each and spend most of your time in the park out looking for animals. Good open sided vehicles, with plenty of food provided at breakfast and dinner. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

Simon is a great host both searching for the Big 5 and cooking his signature dishes.
He was extremely flexible in what we could do each day which gave us a total of 20 hours out on Safari over the 3 days, more than I envisaged.

South Africa Safari Trip: 29 April 25 - 09 May 25 (Johannesburg, Kruger Park and Victoria Falls Safari)

The tour operator was outstanding— Tanya’s patience and genuine care in crafting the perfect South Africa itinerary made the entire planning process seamless and completely stress-free. She took the time to understand our needs and preferences, budge range and thoughtfully tailoring every detail to ensure an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Everything ran smoothly and seamlessly from start to finish. There were no hiccups, and every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The staff at each stop were incredibly friendly, approachable, and always available to help, which made the entire journey even more enjoyable. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident throughout the trip. We felt truly taken care of every step of the way, allowing us to fully relax and immerse ourselves in the experience. It was a memorable safari, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or book again.

Me and my wife went on the trip together with her sister and husband, and after much research, decided to go with wild wings safari. Right from the get-go, the service was top notch. Michael was our point of contact and was patient with our questions and gave us a guide on what to expect and what to do in the lead up to the trip.

Fast forward to the trip itself, and Rufus came to pick us up after our long drive from Johannesburg airport. It was a fascinating 5 days 4 nights spent with Rufus, who was our driver, tracker, cook and guide all rolled in 1. He was not only funny, but also a walking encyclopedia on the animals, birds and even insects that we met throughout the whole trip. Our bellies were well taken care of as well. More importantly, we managed to see what everyone went there for: the Big 5. And to top it off, we got to witness lions feeding on a baby zebra near the end of the trip. It was amazing to see animals up close and how they behave in the wild. We definitely could not have done it if we had done a self drive on our own, even with our many pairs of eyes, Rufus was the one who pointed out most of the animals to us (we could only spot giraffes and elephants), and he still had to direct our eyes to the exact location of the animals. His eye sight is simply amazing. He could spot something that is 700-800 meters out and we were speechless when he told us there were 2 people sitting beside a pool on the train hotel, something that we verified only with the help of binoculars.

A big shout out to the team and especially Rufus for making this trip such an enjoyable one for us, and it is definitely a core memory for us all. Will definitely recommend would be travelers and friends to go with Rufus for an unforgettable trip!

An African Safari was on our bucket list for a lifetime, and choosing Wild Wings Safari did not disappoint. We chose the 5-day Best of Kruger Safari, and Rufus, our guide, driver, and chef; provided an experience that was meticulously executed, leaving no room for disappointment. Even when we missed our flight, Ilaria's last-minute arrangement ensured we met up with the group just in time. We experienced Africa in an unforgettable way, witnessing a plethora of wildlife in their natural habitat, including the Big Five + African wild dogs, that made each moment magical. At long last we are home. We have enjoyed an amazing time. The absolute highlight for Coral and me was our incredible time in the Kruger National Park. It was, no doubt, a life changing experience. Every aspect of the holiday was exceptional. Wild Wings Safaris help, organisation and communication was so reassuring. Thank you for your clear contacts and kind words. The moment we met Rufus, our guide, we knew we were lucky to be paired with such a gem. Every day was an adventure. He brought us within touching distance of so many beautiful creatures. He achieved his goal of showing us the 'Big Five' more than once. So many times we were in awe of the majestic elephants, the powerful lions, the illusive leopards, the thunderous rhinos and the herds of buffalo. Our personal favourites were the graceful giraffes and a family of hyenas. We even came to an emergency stop to avoid a python crossing the road. Rufus's ability to guide us was almost surpassed by his culinary skills. We had some marvellous breakfasts and delicious evening meals. I cannot emphasise enough how much we both enjoyed our safari experience. Again our sincere appreciation for organising such a wonderful holiday.

Clare was an absolute pleasure to work with when planning our trip to South Africa. She took the time to understand our travel preferences, and put together multiple different versions of the trip after we flip flopped plans on her several times. Each customized plan was exactly what we asked for, and she was so patient and accommodating with our changes and tweaks. Once the plan was finalized, Clare was very communicative and gave us clear next steps and clear expectations for the trip which was exactly what we needed to feel comfortable in their hands. As for the trip itself, everything Wild Wings Safaris put together was executed to perfection. The three day safari in Kruger was outstanding - I cannot sing Rufus' praises enough. He went so far out of his way and used his incredible knowledge of the park and animals to make sure we had the experience of a lifetime. We saw all big 5, wild dogs, and learned so much with Rufus. He was so much fun to spend time with and the dinners were some of the best meals we had on the trip! On top of the Safari, every other element of our trip was taken care of expertly. Not a single hiccup the entire time with the logistics and the pieces that we relied on Wild Wings to handle. I would use their services again 1000% and highly recommend Wild Wings for anyone planning a trip to the many places and experiences they service. I can't thank Wild Wings, Clare, Simon and the rest of the team enough for our splendid tour with them again. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are at hand to give, and sort out any type of ideas you have rolling around in your head and make it a reality. Clare sorted out a 3 week itinerary for me and it all run smoothly. Kruger was fantastic and fun again with Simon, with his love and lust for the wildlife and sharing his knowledge, whit, and old fashioned good banter. Doug our lovely kind cook. Truly a pair of stars. Thank you! Both. It was also put to us as seasoned safari travellers that we might like to try something a little different and go to the Kalahari and stay at a camp called Working With Wildlife. This was outstanding! It's not your typical Kruger, Sabi Sands where you can tick box off your animal list. The Animals in the Kalahari are super wild and not used to the usual tourist traffic. Plus the size of the area, you can't comprehend. I don't wish to give much away as it would spoil a person's experience. But truly it's the next step getting closer to the real wild animals, it's becoming your own version of David Attenborough and his camera team. Again thank you all.. What an amazing trip to Kruger National Park. We had fantastic animal sightings including painted wolves, the big 5 & beautiful bird sightings.

Our guide Simon was outstanding, & the food prepared by our cook Doug was great. Cabins were very comfortable and everything was very well organized. Thanks also to our travel consultant Clare for her help and responsiveness. Can't wait until our next trip!

Our guide, Nicky, was fantastic! We did the 5-day Kruger safari and had an amazing time. We saw all of the Big 5 (which we know is not a guarantee). Nicky was knowledgeable, the food was great, and the animals were absolutely phenomenal! I recommend Wild Wings to anyone who wants a safari experience.

We just returned from an amazing 5-Day Best of Kruger Safari with Wild Wings Safari. If you are thinking about booking- don’t hesitate. Here’s why:

Clare’s coordination of our safari and prompt communication set the tone for our trip. We felt like we were in good, solid, professional hands from the start.

This professionalism, warmth and “heart” carried through to our Safari experience with Simon, Nicky and Doug. Our Safari experience truly exceeded our expectations. We got to see the Big 5, went on a bush walk and night drive. Our guides were a blast and were so knowledgeable.

Having Doug cook our delicious meals was a delight. We appreciated his thoughtful menu choices and preparation. Our family/group meals together was a highlight.

Since we came all the way from The Netherlands and had saved for this trip for years, we wanted to make the most of our time together as a family. Wild Wings gave us several suggestions, one of which was to do the Panorama route and 5-day Kruger safari, a total of 7 days with a guide. This proved to be excellent advice.

We loved every minute of our week, from beginning to end. We were picked up by the friendly guide Simon, from our airport hotel in Jo'burg. We then travelled to Graskop where we stayed for 2 nights. We loved the swimming pool with a view - next to our chalet! Over the next 48 hours we visited several highlights of the Panorama route: God's Window, Berlin Falls, Mac Mac Pools, etc. A very relaxing and beautiful start to our holiday. Simon arranged the breakfasts and dinners, which were delicious and rich!

After this we travelled to Skukuza to discover the Kruger. Before we even entered the camp we had already seen impala, many elephants (up close!), hippos, crocodiles and zebras. The next day Simon found rhinos for us, which took quite a drive, but he and us persevered. For the final 2 days we stayed in Satara, were we saw many female and male lions up close, the white lion Casper, more crocodiles and hippos and a lot of elephants, giraffes, buffalo and zebras.

We were impressed with Simon's hard work, his kindness, his dedication to his profession, his love for and knowledge of the animals and the personal touch. The meals were exquisite too. Despite the fact that the days were long (early starts and long drives), we wish they would have been even longer. There was just so much to see and do, even though we had booked the longest of the 'Best of Kruger' options. Simon was always on time and flexible too. The tour was very affordable and worth every cent!

The only problem is that we were hit with a virus: the Kruger virus has now infected us! We want to come back as soon as we can. We have already started saving for the next time. Thank you for everything, Wild Wings!

Onne from Wild Wings was very helpful in planning a very last minute trip. He made himself available after regular work hours for any questions. All my transfers, hotels, tours were top rated!

Our safari guide, Rufus, was great! He was very knowledgeable about Kruger and all the animals we saw. He was very personable and always a great chef.

Shawn, the guide, in Cape Town was excellent. We spent all day exploring Cape Town and its surrounding areas. We covered of ground in one days.

Wildwings was recommended to us by friends and after our experience we can only recommend the organisation. The safari was definitely the highlight of our trip to South Africa. It was super organised since from the beginning, we were picked up directly from the hotel in Johannesburg and we didn't have to worry about anything and were able to fully immerse ourselves into the game drives. Not only did we see a lot of animals, but thanks to our guide Nicky we also learnt a lot about them and the bush. As we were on a 4-day safari, we had enough time to stay at sights for longer periods of time and watch the animals in their habits and interacting with each other. Nicky made us an excellent breakfast and dinner with samplings of typical dishes. We really could not have asked for a better guide and a better organization to make this trip definitely one to remember!!

Great preplanning and guidance from Clare enabled us to have a fully-tailored safari trip to the Kruger. We visited two Kruger Camps (Skukuza and Satara) with Simon, who picked us up from Joberg airport and took us into Kruger. He’s a brilliant guide, great company, very good chef ( preparing breakfast, brunch and evening meals for us each day.)
Then we stayed at three different private camps to reflect differing environments and wildlife…Bataleur Tented Camp in Timbavati concession, Inyati Camp in Sabi Sands concession thenJock’s Camp in the south of the NP itself. All different price points but all offering lovely accommodation, food, game drives and sightings. Wildlife lovers will know that leopard sightings in particular are special. Simon found us a pair of mating leopards near Skukuza. He also found us a pack of wild dogs outside the camp gates.
Later we had many sightings of the so-called Big Five….but watching a Pangolin in the Sabi Sands area was wonderful.
Can fully recommend WildWings and hopefully we’ll return next year for more.

From Ilaria advising us on safari options and the booking process. She kept regular contact, even during the trip which made it feel a personal service. To our guide for the trip, Nicky who was full of energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and care for the wildlife. We had the best time ever. Long days being taken to the right place and the right time as Nickys understanding of animal behaviour virtually guaranteed sightings. We saw so much more than just 'the big 5'. Early starts and long days but Nickys drive was infectious and that certainly helped. I cannot thank and recommend Ilaria, Nicky and Wild Wings highly enough.

Highly responsive to all our questions from the beginning, the tour itinerary we requested exceeded our expectations. We stayed at first class hotels and safari camps, were met and greeted and guided to our connection flights and hotels every step of the way, and enjoyed safe but adventurous safari experiences. It was a unique, thoughtful itinerary that has created memories for our family that we will cherish for years to come. And now our kids want to go back!

Our safari was amazing!
Wild wings safaris did an outstanding job putting together a most memorable trip!
To start, we were met by our wild wings guide, Nicky at the airport. She was very pleasant and friendly! During our transport to Kruger park, she provided us with information about South Africa, and specifically about the area we were travelling through. She was very informative!

Once at Kruger Park, she transferred us into our open safari vehicle and started our first game drive. She was absolutely amazing! Right from the beginning we were seeing Elephants, Giraffes, Impala and Lions. She pointed out birds and small game, as well as foliage along the drive. She provided us with ample time to take photos and admire the wild life during our drive. When we returned to our bungalow in the Shukuza camp, she made sure we were settled in and got us acquainted with the camp. She cooked our dinner and enjoyed the meal with us. She was so friendly and accommodating. It was as if we were all on vacation together. Throughout the game drives, she was able to effortlessly locate just about every big game animal there was to see, along with various birds and small game animals. We can not praise enough how absolutely amazing she was and she provided us with memories of a lifetime!

Once our stay at Kruger ended we went on to the Arathusa Lodge. At Arathusa, we were greeted by Dylan who checked us in and escorted us to our chalet, and explained the resort and amenities. We were truly amazed at the luxury accommodations and the exceptional treatment we received from the entire staff. It was like we were royalty. Our chalet and patio overlooked the watering hole, where we frequently saw elephants, impala and wild dogs gathering. We were provided lunch and then started our first game drive. Our guide was Brett and both him and his tracker did an outstanding job of locating the "big five" during our time there. During our first drive, we stopped for a break, and Brett provided us with a bottle of Champagne to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. Everyone joined in and toasted with us! After the drive, at dinner, we were escorted to a private table overlooking the pool, by candle light, where we enjoyed a celebratory 5 star romantic meal again to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff at Arathusa went out of their way to make the evening a most enjoyable and memorable event. The accommodations at Arathusa were that of a 5 star hotel! The staff was very attentive, making sure our time there was fun and relaxing. We were provided gourmet meals, luxury accomodations and exceptional service!

We would highly recommend to anyone looking to do a safari in South Africa, to let Wild Wings Safaris take care of all the planning. You did an exceptional job and provided us with memories of a lifetime!!! Doing safaris in both Kruger park and at Arathusa is definitely the way to go! If we would have concentrated all our time at one and not the other, I don't think we would have had the abundance of experiences that we had!
