Evil Female Estate Agent
The branch in Barking is scary and sheer evil. Because I didn't sign up with them, they passed false info to the Move Market to trash my property. So, it's a war between estate agents and vendors, believe it or not!

My experience with the corby branch of William H Brown was a good experience.
They made things as easy as they could informed me every stage and were very considerate and sympathetic throughout the process.
I dealt with William H Brown In Norwich…
I dealt with William H Brown In Norwich (Bank Plain NR24SF) from the very beginning I wish I never got involved with this estate agents. When I went to sign the contract etc at the office I was doing so with a member of staff when one of the managers was openly shouting, humiliating and speaking degradingly as a manager to his staff all in front of myself and the person I had with me. This was clearly something he did often because his staff looked miserable and "anxious/nervous" every time he spoke to them. I should of known by this It was an unprofessional company. Since singing the dotted line I have been the one making EVERY single phone call, email and chasing the company for details of things such as move date, references, checks & collecting keys etc. Such basic information that should be key to keeping communication between the company and their client and building a good reputation as a company. When I did call I was told something completely different and It seemed nobody actually said the same information. Then when I would speak to each person they would say the other person had made a mistake and I should listen to them. Again at this stage I should of known to cancel. After my health depleting and needing an accessible house for my disability I called the office to be told It wouldn't be a problem etc. I was then told something completely different by the next member of staff that could potentially be now leaving me In a huge amount of debt. DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH!! Absolutely terrible customer service, No one knows what they are talking about leaving you the customer being left In a bad situation due to their mistakes. I am now going to have to seek legal advice over this and wish I never became apart of their custom. If you do choose to use this company I advise you to keep every email, call record, name of staff you spoke with etc to cover yourself.
Joe at the Wakefield branch is THE BEST
Joe at the Wakefield branch is 100% worth his weight in gold and has been nothing short of perfect in our venture toward buying our new home. He explained everything in such detail & simplified everything in a non-patronising, but easy to understand way. His demeanour is easygoing, friendly & supportive and he put us at complete ease during our meetings and chats. He’s ridiculously informative and prompt in both his work and his responses and gets the job done right first time 100% of the time. He handled sensitive topics tactfully and respectfully, making them feel much lighter to discuss. If you need a mortgage advisor, we can’t rate him enough. We’re not even from Wakefield but we traveled over there to keep him as our advisor. He’s worth every Penny.

I have used a mortgage broker Called "Hanna Hudson" @ William H Brown in the wibsey office. Have to say, absolutely brilliant. She was very knowledgeable with all the products, very quick & efficient & tailored to our needs. We had our mortgage offer within 2 weeks all down to Hanna with her excellence in service. I would
always recommend sequence as they employ the best in the game ! Thank you again

2 months ago we showed interest in a rental property. Robyn told us 2 months ago she would call us back regarding renting the propery. I have received no call back to date and no communication. We were informed they were waiting "to hear back from the landlord."
Robyn divulges private, confidential information regarding current tenant health needs and has no respect for others private information.
Communication is diabolical, we were under alot of pressure as our house we being sold, they have no care at all for customers.
Very disappointing
We tried viewing properties on their website, and after trying to load more properties within the selected price range, Cloudflare banned us with the following message: The owner of this website has banned you temporarily from accessing this website.
My friend called them and asked for more information a few weeks ago, they said they'd call back, yet nobody called us back.
It's a real shame, because the property we saw is still listed on the market, is in an ideal location for us and a good size for an investment, but we can't seem use their website without getting banned (for looking at properties on a property website..) or a call back with more information.
Who knows how many others are having the same issues.
Very poor avoid using Castleford…
Very poor avoid using Castleford William H Brown. 3 weeks they have done nothing. Valuation on 21st of February by 7th of March they had not even written a property description for me to pre view. Waited 3 weeks for photography. No money laundering check. Odd how do they know I am a legitimate owner. Only progress a sales board put in the front garden right in front of bay window. Damaging my lawn. Still waiting for notice of when the board will be collected!
Absolutely brilliant from start to…
Dewsbury office Absolutely brilliant from start to finish Warren who came to value the property was amazing the sales team we’re outstanding Jo the manager was WOW they talked me through everything and everything they told me would happen did quick professional and caring could not have asked for better people to help me sell my property nothing was too much trouble can not recommend them enough
I used William H Brown in Colchester…
I used William H Brown in Colchester (St Johns) for a purchase of a property and I can't recommend them more.
I submitted an enquiry via a well known property site and received a call from Ellie within minutes if not seconds of my enquiry. We booked a viewing next day. Due to circumstances, I was shown around the property by the owner however put an offer in which was accepted.
Whilst there was a little bit of a sell of services, I did speak to Ashleigh who was really helpful but not quite able to meet my mortgage quote from another broker. I have to say I did not feel obligated to speak to them but it would be prudent to check given the fluidity in interest rates.
Sam, the deputy branch manager at St Johns was my contact during the process and was extremely helpful, proactive, extremely responsive to my emails often silly but also had a great sense of humour. Calling me to advise we had exchanged contracts and talk through the next steps was appreciated.
I wouldn't hesitate to use this branch again
Say anything to get the sale!!
I would strongly advise against appointing William H Brown, Brandon, Suffolk as your agent for selling your home.
This was the first time I have moved house in over 30yrs, so needed some help and guidance. The chain was held up by a new build, which was fine. It should have given everyone to get their documents in order. Originally, we were supposed to exchange 6th December and Complete and move on 13th December. Then there was a hitch in the chain with someone's paperwork, and it all got delayed. Then another delay happened. It was all getting a bit nervous with people wanting to move before Christmas. Solicitors were closing a week before Christmas, removal companies were very busy!! Anyway Cliff Tsang from William H Brown, phoned me and explicitly and told me he had spoken to the people where the problem had occurred within the chain and it was all sorted and I should confirm and pay for my removal company, for 17th December. Which I duly did!! The move again failed due the the paperwork not being in order (THE SAME PAPERWORK CLIFF HAD TOLD ME WAS SORTED!!). I had to cancel and reschedule my removals at an additional cost of £942.
After the move I withheld £942 and complained to William H Brown. They rejected my claim, as Cliff denied telling me to book removals. I therefore escalated it to the Property Ombudsman, they also rejected my claim as they had not been privy to the phone call between me and Cliff!!
William H Brown then threatened to put the matter to their legal team, how can one man fight for justice against the might of a bullying conglomerate like William H Brown!!
I guess Cliff lied to me as he wanted his bonus before Christmas. Please do not trust these people.
Disappointed this agent allows buyers…
Disappointed this agent allows buyers to run up solicitor bills by making a buyer think that they are buying a property whilst still doing block viewings and trying to get someone to gazump existing offer. Unethical exploitation. Suggest you give this one a miss
SHOCKING COMMUNICATION
I would not reccomend William H Brown in Castleford. Firstly, we went to have an appointment with their mortgage advisor who helped us get a mortgage in principle. This part was good and was a free service. As soon as we had an offer accepted on a property and we wanted it to be taken off of the market we were told that they couldn’t accept the mortgage in principle as we were not proceeding with him as our advisor. Once we got another mortgage in principle and the property was taken off of the market the communication was TERRIBLE. There were issues with the property which meant that the vendor had to get multiple structural and damp reports. Without these, and before any works required were complete, we could not get a mortgage. Obviously this isn’t the estate agents fault but the communication was non-existent. Weeks went by with no update and after over a month we decided to pull out. We were strung along by the estate agent when we called them up and they advised not to pull out because they would likely have an update soon. Once we had decided to pull out of the agreement, I sent an email seeking for written confirmation that we had no ties to the property, mainly for peace of mind once we found another propertyThis email was ignored and the property was added back onto the market the next day, with their knowledge that nobody could get a mortgage. I feel for the poor people that get their hopes up when WIlliam H Brown know that no mortgage will be approved. SHOCKING customer service and I would NOT reccomend.
Cannot be bothered
I rang the branch at Diss! That was the start of a complete and utter waste of time, incompetence, laziness.
I rang on the Monday and was told they would ring back, same on Tuesday & Wednesday.
I rand customer complaints nobody there to answer the phone, emailed my complaint, Recife ed an acknowledgement email stating a someone would be in touch within 5 days! 30 days later no call, no email, no contact. Their x profile would not let me directly message, and was told to ring them again, as they were made aware I was trying to contact them.
This company is a joke! They cannot get the basics correct, no chance in hell would I trust them to get something more complicated or complex correct.
@Fabio of William H Brown Norwich…
@Fabio of William H Brown Norwich Office as a customer service provider is such a great asset for the company, good communication skills, very polite yet professional. Great customer service and man of his words if you are on his list. Just a call away and I have a beautiful 2bedroom flat without stress or disappointments. Keep that sense of humor up, you are a Gem 🥂👌
I contacted (out of hours) William H…
I contacted (out of hours) William H Brown, to get the ball rolling for the selling of my father’s house. Within minutes a young man from the business was ringing me organising a valuation which I needed for probate. He mentioned that staff work a later shift during the week in able to deal with people like myself who work past office hours - I thought this was amazing! And definitely helped my situation. I then had a wonderful young lady named Truly from the Worksop office in Nottinghamshire visit me at my father’s address and explain everything meticulously. Truly was relaxed, compassionate about our situation and explained in great detail our options. Truly wasn’t pushy which in all honesty having dealt with another estate agent the previous day I was expecting her to be. She is an asset to William H Brown and although I am only at the beginning of the process of selling, I already feel reassured that my father’s estate is in capable and trustworthy hands. Thank you!!
I attended an interview with Joe Taylor…
I attended an interview with Joe Taylor (area manager) and it was a complete waste of my time. After uploading my CV I was contacted for a sales role which I declined to interview for but did say I would interview for another role in the King's Lynn branch. I turned up for the interview and Joe was 20 minutes late with other people also waiting to be interviewed. Once he finally turned up I was interviewed for the sales role and told I wouldn't stand a chance with the other role due to prior experience. No wonder the average reviews are 2.2 star as these people are clearly not very bright.
Sold a house by auction
Sold a house by auction. All went smoothly and on time with helpful advice from Penny.
Useless waste of time
Absolutely one of the worst/most useless agents I've dealt with. Poor communication, literally ignoring emails, canceling viewings last minute, terrible pictures, unprofessional, list goes on. Stay clear from this company if you want to sell your house in peace. I recommend Keystones in Romford if you're looking!
