Not What it Was

I have used Wimdu frequently though less so in the last 18 months. Why? Price. I have found your prices less competitive than your competition.
Last month we had a terrible experience with a Wimdu flat in Porto. I filled in a very negative review. I have had no response. This has soured me considerably on Wimdu and I may just write Wimdu off. The Porto flat had clearly never been I inspected by Wimdu or if it had, Wimdu has lowered its standards to a level I am not interested in.

my ideas by a wimdu stay.

sometimes there is to little kitchenware.
the cleaning of the appartment --in the time staying there--is not always
to understand.
the WIFI is sometimes weak. Probaly a cheap abonnement by the owner.
sometimes there is more noise , in the building or in the street, than said in the advertisement. ( I have only experience in Spain.)

I would like more discount by a long stay, ( a month or more )

I have to opt-out for every single notification on wimdu. This is really boring. I hate it to see unnecessary emails in my inbox...

In general a good platform

In general a good platform, which I use as a host and guest. However, WIMDU charged me a cancellation fee recently which I am claiming back. In the mobile view of the website, I had rejected a booking which was sudently accepted (due to a technical error, I believe). It cost me some time and nerves to fix this by informing the guest inmediately and reaching out to WIMDU to cancel this booking. Now they charged ME a cancellation fee (they did reduce it from 50% to 15%) which I feel is incorrect. After all, I had rejected the booking and a system error led to a confrmation of the booking. I feel this is dubious.
Another point of critique is that WIMDU does not cover for damages and does not take care of a deposot but you have to arrange that with the guests themselves which can be a bit of a hassle.

Otherwise, good experiences.

The chosen homes are worth the value as …

The chosen homes are worth the value as comfortable and Wimdu is the best media to reach them.The site and the staff are quite keen on details and practical when it comes to decide and/or find the right way . The communication means are very satisfactory.

Good offers

Good offers, nicely done website, helpful staff = smooth experience with very small bumps but I am sure when the Wimdu will mature everything is going to be great.

Overall very good

Whilst booking and contact with my host were perfect, I was asked to leave a review afterwards which I wanted to do. The link took me to Czech language page. I write in about this and Samuel, who replied, basically ignored my comments. Whilst I understand you do not like to interfere, I asked to be guided and after some misinformation found my own way to the review section. Somewhat unhelpful !

Overall though a damn good service.

Locked out because listed phone number …

Locked out because listed phone number was not correct. Had to pay for a hotel for the first night. They actually did sent email the next day from the "home office" saying "i'm sorry" .....unlike Airbnb which never answers a complaint. I asked for them to pay for hotel and after 2 days of run around they finally admitted listed phone number was wrong. That I need to get the money directly from the OWNER. Well, who knows who the REAL owners are with these renta condos? Contact was a cleaning lady, like they always are. So, yes they will answer your email the next day....and no, you will be screwed out of money you deserve back. Still better than Airbnb hell.
