Don't hire with WISECAR !!!
Despite I've booked a car INCLUDING Insurance, as mentionned in my voucher, I discover it was not. I've contacted Wisecar by phone but they told me nothing they can do.
So I had to pay for the insurance 50% more than the previous price.
Always ask yourself when you fall on so attractive prices.
Firt and last time with Wisecar !
Should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
Do NOT hire from Wise Cars!!
My wife and I rented twice from Wise Cars last year (as we purchased two Groupon vouchers at the same time) and we have been meaning to write a review since to hopefully ensure no one is hurt in one of ‘Wise Cars’ cars and to save others from the enormous hassle and expense we suffered.
On both occasions, my wife had to make numerous phone calls to book, organise where to pick up and to check our bookings were in fact made correctly. Without naming names, she was on both occasions dealt with at times very rudely and abruptly. She felt that there was little or no communication between the two branches of Wise Cars as she was given different information by each member of staff and branch she spoke to. She eventually picked up the cars from what she described as an abandoned car park with a portacabin as an office. She had to wait some time on both occasions to pick up and drop off the cars and was even asked to send the photos she had taken of the cars (as insurance for us as she felt no confidence at all in the company) to Wise Cars as they had not done any pick-up checks themselves.
The car was mechanically adequate on the first occasion, although filthy inside and out, however on the second occasion, having got us to our destination, on pulling away from a kerb the entire front right-hand side of the second car collapsed. The AA representative who dealt with the case noted that totally inadequate welding had been done on the suspension, that more than one tyre was worn completely away and in summary the car was not fit for purpose and potentially dangerous to drive.
What followed was hours sitting in a succession of pick-up trucks and service stations waiting for the next pick-up truck. Finally ending in a long taxi journey for which we were not recompensed. To add insult to injury, we only received our deposit (four months later!!) after long liaisons with trading standards and repeated emails to Wise Cars. To this day we have received no apology, compensation or even acknowledgment of the ordeal we went through.
In summary, I would urge you not to hire from Wise Cars as every aspect of our experience was deeply unsatisfactory.
