NFC passport scan doesn't work
Should I hold the phone horizontally or vertically ? Does that even matter ? Back cover, front cover, or the actual document inside of the covers ? Which part of my phone should be above which part of the passport ? What is the acceptable distance between my phone and my passport ? What is the acceptable / required time frame in which the scanning takes place.
Also, be a little more precise with what exactly didn't work. Trust your users with a tad more technical details.

An easily fooled AI identity verification service that neither verifies nor identifies correctly, with it identifying Dolls, Figurines, Still Photos of Fictional Characters, and more as Human Faces, while also getting the "Predicted age" entirely incorrect in 8/10 cases.
Forced onto users by multi billion dollar companies who likely haven't seen their own faces in decades, this service fails in every aspect for the purpose in which it's designed...

Worst IDV Platform I’ve Had to Use
I’ve had a really poor experience using Persona. The platform felt unreliable and frustrating to use, especially since I didn’t have much choice — other vendors required it for onboarding. In my case, it caused delays and unnecessary hassle. I would personally avoid it if alternatives are available, and I’d prefer working with companies that use more stable and user-friendly verification solutions.

Does not accept all Canadian provinces and support is no help
Persona does not accept all Canadian Driver's licenses (in my experience, Manitoba Driver's Licenses). It appears they assume all Canada Driver's Licenses have the barcode on the front, which is not true. They also do not accept Manitoba's health card despite their website listing it as an option.
Don't even bother with contacting Persona's support to help with the issue, because they just tell you to contact the organization that sent you to verify with them, despite the issue being with Persona. They will also not respond after this.
Employers Beware: This Service Will RUIN You
If you are looking to make your company entirely inaccessible to new hires by forcing them to verify with Persona so you can tell them that their own face is not actually their face every time they attempt to join, I recommend Persona.
If you are looking to make your company actually work properly, do NOT utilize Persona.
It is entirely understandable that you would want to know that the people you are hiring are who they say they are. However, if you wish to verify peoples' identities, utilize a service that actually works properly instead.

I've now gone through this process, and the API is still locked. So I've done all that for nothing. Now another service I know nothing about has my personal information, and I got nothing in return.

This is a formal warning to anyone considering using Persona as a LinkedIn Support/Verification Provider.
Their platform failure and non-existent customer service have directly caused **eight months** of operational paralysis for a non-profit manager's account.
This LinkedIn account verification process has been trapped in a perpetual, broken loop for over eight months. Every attempt to resolve the issue results in the same automated, useless response: "You have submitted a ticket and cannot re-submit."
There is **NO path to help**, **NO human support**, and **NO resolution** for a critical business function that has been frozen 8 months ago.
### The Real-World Cost of This Failure
This is not a simple login issue; this is a catastrophic failure of service that has real-world consequences. The end result of this eight-month lockdown is:
* **Lost income** from critical fundraising channels.
* **Less aid delivered**, directly impacting the number of **starving children fed** by our organization.
I would not **trust** or **invest** a single minute in a company that is so fundamentally broken and so completely indifferent to the human cost of their service failure. Never use this shark stealing data authentification service
Litteraly blocking you on Linkedin without any specific reasons, just to "verify" your identity. Signing in with google and my scholar account did nothing, you really need to steal my face and my identity card, and having fishy terms and conditions. Even in the EU, i need to give such criticals infos because of them, and i can't even connect with others people from the university and to find a job. Great, you'll own nothing and be happy, give everything you got.
Do not ever use or do something with them. Still locked after 2 weeks.

In Australia as in other modern countries, we've opted for digital licenses which are in an app on our phone. they provide more security as are only viewable with biometric scan and no card to get lost in the mail etc [speaking from experience - identity theft victim from license stolen from post box]. There is no such option INCLUDING sending screen grabs to another device to then photograph.
For my money they should be at 0 stars, they just made everything more difficult. and Linkedin, you deserve the same for the impossible verification process you force but not support.
