On January 1, 2026, the new law SB 825 became effective, enhancing protections for consumers in California. Although some California businesses adhere to best practices and legal requirements, the DFPI observes rising trends that pose threats to customers in the Golden State, the world's fourth-largest economy. This legislation specifies that providers of consumer financial products and services, irrespective of their licensing status, fall under the DFPI’s jurisdiction to prohibit unlawful, unfair, misleading, or abusive activities or practices. This pertains to banks, mortgage lenders, escrow agents, brokers, and other companies regulated by CCFPL . The statute ensures equitable business operations and enables the DFPI to safeguard California customers from unlawful practices that waste time and resources, or potentially enable fraud and scams.

Apr can be over 500%
They won't stop sending me flyers. I called in and they wouldn't give me any information at all without putting an entire application in and providing all my info and banking info. (Should have known) Then he asks how I want my money and tries to read fast over the disclosures. I did the basic quick math and said what that doesn't seem right. The apr was over 500%.

Annual APR almost 500%, $6,000 finance charge on a $1,600 loan with a $600 month payment. Completely acinine and a delusional company.

I still haven’t received my check in the mail. They have already taken one payment out.

You guys send me promotional info, with codes! Then I apply, then you refuse the loan! That’s because you are unprofessional, and no one has ever heard of you anyways! Lose my info, take me off your “you guys are pests” list! DO NOT send me anymore mail!
