Useless lawn edger

Purchased a lawn edger a while ago,I'd be better off using a blunt kitchen knife!!
The cutting edge is thick and not at all sharp
Do not buy!!

Broken items within a year

I purchased several tools from them. Falling for the 35 year Guarantee they state. An extendable pole, wooden pole, both for numerous attachments i purchased. Within a year i have had 3 items break from general garden use. The aluminium collar on the multi use pole where the attachments fit snapping being the last thing. I have pictures to attach but this doesnt seem to allow me to upload.

Faulty and no help from Wolf

I was bought a pair of secateurs as a gift. On first use the pin has come out. I went to point of purchase who wouldn't help as i had no receipt. I contacted Wolf directly. Who replied that a receipt is required, having explained i have no receipt they replied again that receipt or gift receipt is required with an attachment of their refund/faults policy and an offer of 25% off another product.
Absolutely disgusting. They were a GIFT!!! The person who bought them doesn't have the receipt, spent good money and now they want more money!! I think not!

The warranty is worthless

I have purchased several garden tools direct from Wolf Garten, and until now all of them worked well. The latest tool (a lawn edge trimmer) failed to work properly. The only way to claim was by email - no phone number found. I got an automated reply that they would respond within 10 days, which I thought was pathetic. The reply eventually came, saying that I should refer this to the place that sold me the tool. This was despite my email making it clear that Wolf Garten themselves sold it to me, and despite attaching their invoice confirming this.
Wolf advertise long warranties, but it seems that they have no intention to honour them.

Second Pair of Secateurs Broken

This is the second pair of Wolfgarten 19mm secateurs I've purchased and the second pair where the metal bar in the handle has snapped. 10 year guarantee is absolutely worthless. Bought new from a seller on Ebay why should he lose money when it's an obvious fault in the design of the product. Wolfgarten aren't interested.

Who needs customers?

I was given an extending handle (2.2m-4m) at Christmas. After only 3 months of occasional use, the locating pin under the rocker plate has got stuck inside the tube. I contacted WOLF-Garten UK via email regarding repair/replacement under their 35 year guarantee and received an impersonal response stating that they aim to respond within 10 working days, i.e. two weeks. In this day and age that is unacceptably slow and amounts to a dismissive attitude towards customers. The excuse given was: 'our team is currently experiencing large volumes of emails'. Are WOLF tools of such poor quality that their guarantee department is inundated with emails regarding poor function? Are WOLF tools still using COVID as an excuse for poor service? Whatever happened to German efficiency and quality? Customer Service is abysmal!

Having just posted the above review, I received a 'phone call from a Company in Bicester (I had given my 'phone number to WOLF-Garten in my original email) offering to send me a replacement handle which should arrive within... 5 working days. It's a shame that it should take a poor review to spur a Company into action, but at least they reacted!

Meaningless warranty, poor quality

We bought a pair of garden hedge shears through a distributor and after 2 uses a bolt fell out. Wolf Garten would not replace them or approve a refund. Instead they insisted on shipping a spare bolt from GERMANY to Australia which took 3 months. Ridiculous.

Ten year warranty is useless

Since 2019 I have purchased 3 pairs of RR2500 secateurs for my wife. They are potentially great secateurs especially for my wife's small hands but they don't last very long before the spring gives out.
The last pair have lasted just 4 months in the weak hands of a 70 year old.
Supposed to be guaranteed for 10 years - but on visiting their website it appears that vital parts such as springs and the like aren't covered.
Over the past 30+ years I have always opted for their tools from rakes and scarifiers right through to electric hedgetrimmers on the basis of their quality but it appears that their standards have now slipped.

No good and worthless 'guarantee'

As others have said these tools are probably OK for gentle use but bend and break with anything more. They certainly can't stand any leverage with the long handles.

Also as others have stated, the 35 year guarantee is useless and a complete con. The UK importer accepts no responsibility for it and just tells you to take the receipt back to where you bought it from.

Unhappy with Wolf UR-M3 SCARIFYING and the service

Purchased the Wolf UR-M3 SCARIFYING ROLLER RAKE, SKU: 71AAA036650. Order number Your Order #300003770 (Australia).
On the first day, the handle broke. Contacted the company multiple times, and they have made all efforts of not helping me to return the product. I was expecting better quality and better service, but disappointed. All photographs were sent to the company.

Guarantee they offer is worthless

Says their tools are guaranteed for 35 years - no terms and conditions stated, but really they aren’t. They use every trick they can to get out of replacing their tools which break even though. I terms ate stipulated when you make a purchase. Do people really keep every single receipt forever? For electrical yes, but every single purchase - no. Where would we possibly store them. This is what this company are banking on to save themselves money. Really it’s a false promise and also leads you into thinking they are good solid tools, which they aren’t. I’ve currently 2 tools which broke through wear and tear. Previously had more but threw them away. Not had them that long. They refuse to replace them. The best they will do is offer me a discount on another purchase - more money for them. There is a way around this. Buy another, keep receipt and then demand a refund in a few months time on the faulty ones they refused to replace in the first place! A pain that is, but a way around their misleading guarantee!!!!! If they are so confident the tools will last 35 years, hence the guarantee, they should make them better in the first place and not break or wear out. They should honour the advertised guarantee too. Not try and wriggle out of it! They even grilled me on where I kept the tools. What’s that got to do with them breaking whilst in use. Anything to not honour their pledge!

And now they’ve changed their reason for no replacement. They are saying the tools are rusty and have been kept outside. They haven’t and arent. It’s just one excuse after another to not replace the tools under guarantee!!! Buy something else if you want tools that last! Don’t get taken in by false guarantees!

Another tool of theirs split Mar 23. Contacted them as their tools have lifetime guarantee. Again, all they do is offer 25% off a replacement. That’s not a lifetime guarantee. Why would I buy from them again???

Go elsewhere. Fake guarantees!

That’s 2 tools now from them with different faults/breakages they refuse to replace. Just want you to buy again with their special discounts.

Should be against consumer rights or something.

The lack of a cable being included meant everything else is irrelevent

I had never heard of this brand but was attracted to Wolf Garten as their mowers featured favourably in the consumer champion magazine WHICH.

I'd seen other Amazon reviews which complained of no cable being in the box. I checked the amazon description and bold as brass there it was, "included in the box, mower, instructions and cable". So I took a screen shot knowing the box must include a cable or else the consumer offence of selling something not as described, will have been committed. I then ordered it.

The mower arrived and lo and behold, no cable was in the box. I'd already sourced were I might get a cable, which is unique to this mower and would cost about £35! I then contacted Amazon and the lady stated I could have a refund. I really didnt want to return a mower if it I could help it so I suggested a partial refund to the tune of £35, which they were good enough to agree to. I sourced my cable and was mowing shortly afterwards, a few days later.

Although a previous user of Flymo, this is a decent mower though the cable tidy hanging off the mower isn't great. The mower performs well and the height adjuster is good. However, deliberately selling a mower without a cable is like selling a car without wheels then expecting the purchaser to foot the bill. This is simply unacceptable and worthy of nothing but contempt towards both the manufacturer and towards Amazon for being aware of this and sanctioning it!

Unprofessional, cumbersome and poorly designed

I cannot understand why there are so many positive reviews for these tools. I am having to replace half of the things I've bought on account of breakage from metal fatigue and poor design. The hand fork's prongs bent and eventually broke, as did the metal alloy handle on the trowel. Don't try using these tools on compacted soil because they are not up to it. Another flaw is that some of the release buttons are on the ends of handles, making them unwieldy. The springtime rake is heavy and I have only used it once, preferring to stay with my trusted old rake which not only collects leaves but scarifies and collects moss as well. I have window cleaning gear from Wolf Garten as well, again not well designed. Their weed extractors are alright but expensive when you add in the cost of the handle. The bayonet multi-change system is not very well engineered in that there is a certain amount of movement when in place. This is irritating and kind of cacky when you are using these tools every day. I have never seen professional gardeners using this equipment and I understand why. It has been an expensive mistake as I am now making incremental replacements.

Very happy with them

I have purchased a cultivator with a handle and a rake I'm very happy with the quality of products and it is amazing that they offer a 35 years warranty.
I have used them only once but they seemed to be of good quality.
The product has been sent very quickly.
