Excelente experience and real helpful network of hosts and workawayers

A community for cultural exchange, working holidays, volunteering, house & pet sitting in 170 countries.

It provides us with amazing help from volunteers, it's so fascinating being able to host persons from all over the world, exchange cultural experiences, having interesting talks at the dining table and have fun together after a day of work.

WorkAway provides a great way to connect with potential volunteers. The organization pays attention to work ethically and helps with cultural exchanges, reviewing posts and feedback thoroughly.

We have been receiving volunteers for 12 years now through Workaway and it has been of great importance for our project.

I have had an excellent experience using Workaway as a host in Morocco.
Through this platform, we have successfully hosted more than 20 international volunteers from over 12 different countries, including countries from the European Union, the United States, and even Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia.
All the experiences have been extremely positive and successful by all standards. Volunteers were respectful, motivated, and genuinely interested in cultural exchange and contributing to our educational project.
Workaway has helped us create a unique international environment for our students, allowing them to interact with people from different cultures and improve their language skills in a natural and authentic way.
The platform is easy to use and very effective in connecting hosts with the right volunteers. Clear communication is key, but overall, the experience has exceeded our expectations.

We first joined 'Workaway' as hosts all the way back in 2013. Over the years we've met, hosted and received valuable support from many beautiful people from across the world. With their periodic help we've raised our family meaningfully, cared for our home and garden, built and sustained organic gardens, moved homes (twice) and completed many a DIY project. We've shared our table with laughter, memories, insights into various cultures, and friendship. The impact on our kids having these interactions has been excellent. The help sharing the 'motherload' of chores while we work has been priceless. We look forward to meeting and hosting new folk and have found the Workaway platform to be a clear, easy to use form of communication for both parties to reach out and get to know each other before committing to a positive and genuine exchange. The review system has been very useful also to ensure we all feel safe with letting people into our homes. We can set available hosting times, pause our listing, communicate the areas we need help with, share a little about ourselves. When a volunteer approaches us, we can read their profile to learn a little about their personalities and what they'd like to learn and share from the exchange. Hearing about the eco, social and humanitarian projects that Workawayers have been supporting have been inspiring to read about. We highly recommend this business. The only warning I would have to young volunteers looking to sign up and travel this way is to really look at the reviews and ask questions before committing to your stays. We have heard of some 'hosts' not providing a safe, fair or clean experience. If you are a volunteer and have experienced something like this, please report this to the workaway team so that they can remove them from the network and avoid another person from having a poor experience. You are valuable, an equal and need to be treated with respect under the guidelines of a fair exchange.

We love WorkAway. Not just for the experience we have with the locals and the hosts but meeting other volunteers from other countries. Such a great concept.

Goog experiance but so eti es hard to get the place you want first hand

Workaway makes it possible to everyone to travel all around the world, exchanging and getting to know people, different lifestyles and cultures. I got to know so many lovely families, learned a lot about farming, gardening, House-, pet and babysitting. If you are open-minded, adventurous and willing to learn from different people I would really recommend workaway. ;) There are jobs and opportunities for everyone, the options you have, are so diverse.

I have used Workaway regularly as a host for the last 8-9 years, starting in 2018. I have had people staying for between two days and three months. And in every age group, from 19 untill 60 years of age, even it's more of the younger ones.
With so many people over the years I still agree with myself: it is the better ones who are travelling.
