I find the whole experience heart…
I find the whole experience heart warming and instructive. Finding out what my small money outlay achieves is most gratifying. Getting to know someone from far away is very good. To see them grow and see them learn is excellent.
The company does an excellent job.
The work that is being doen is amazing.
I sponsor a little girl in Uganda
We sponsor a little girl in Uganda. We receive regular updates including photos, a video and brief letters and also a general update on how the village is improving. The person who cancelled her sponsorship because she found out others were benefitting needs to remember that a child singled out as a beneficiary, leaving others out, could be subject to envy and could feel very bad for their peers. Yes, we also thought our money was going only to our sponsored child but, having thought about it more, World Vision have approached this the right way to share it out.
I Sponsored a little girl in a village…
I Sponsored a little girl in a village near Nepal. When I Sponsored her I was only sponsoring her and I was paying an extra amount towards work in the village. I have telephoned World vision just now only to find out that yes I am sponsoring the little girl but also 3 other un named children. I chose this charity because the majority of my money was going to the little girl and her family. I paid an extra amount for the village.
I have only an old age pension and I really thought that I was helping just 1 child. Plus they are always asking for more donations which I felt bad for not being able to pay.
I have cancelled my subscription and I am gutted as I really cared for my little girl and I thought that I was giving her a good chance in life.
So beware what you are signing up doesn't mean that the money is going to where you think it is.
World Vision is a brilliant charity
I've been a World Vision supporter for many years and followed the progress of my first sponsored child from the age of 7 to adulthood. I'm now sponsoring another youngster and hope to see her to adulthood as well. We get regular updates and videos of the work World Vision is doing in their community, and we exchange cards and letters with our child. It is very rewarding being a sponsor of a child and seeing the progress they, and their community, are making.
letters
It is good to be able to keep contact online but I do miss having a letter from my sponsored child, as I used to do years ago. Also because we are encouraged to send the report via Google, Facebook or Apple, it seems less personal and private, and more orchestrated towards advertising. We love our sponsored children and do not want them to be upset.
What a loverly way to help a youngster…
What a loverly way to help a youngster get on in life, i do hope that my contribution to her way of life helps her get all the good things that life has waiting for her.
World Vision makes such a difference to…
World Vision makes such a difference to communities all over the world. I have been a sponsor for over 20 years now and can say what a fulfilling experience it is to know that I am making a difference to a child's life who is less fortunate in the way of education and living conditions. I love getting the updates, photos and videos throughout the year and seeing the progress that has been made. They are really doing a great Job in all the communities that they work in. Well done World vision 👏
From my first enquiry about sponsoring the experience was excellent
From my first enquiry about sponsoring a child the whole experience has been excellent. They were very quick to answer any questions I had (their website answers most questions). They very quickly set everything up once I'd said I'd go ahead with the sponsorship. We need more unity and less inequality in our world, child sponsorship will help with that.
I have sponsored 2 children now
I have sponsored 2 children now. it is great to ee them grow and progress and to know i am making a difference in this world. We can all do our part no matter how little.
All good here
Good but please more info and pics!
I've been sponsoring for approx 10 years or so. I am now sponsoring my third child. Communication is pretty good. The new portal is good for seeing pictures. Only things keeping it from being a 5 star review is that,as far as i know, you can't keep checking in with a previous sponsored child after your sponsorship has finished. To me, the point of sponsoring someone is to see how they have progressed. I would also like more photos of "my" child and her home and surroundings.
Legit, informative
Legit company for sponsoring your children in need of aid. A shame I could no longer afford it or was able to see how much of my money actually got to my sponsored child, but they were great with interacting and keeping you informed of their work et cetera

I have enjoyed sponsoring for many years now get a lot of pleasure from receiving letters from my sponsored child and regular updates. I have always found customer services to be very helpful and to respond quickly to any questions I have. I intend to continue sponsoring for many years going forward.
Worthwhile Experience
We have been sponsoring children through World Vision for over 30 years now. It’s always lovely to hear how they are doing and to be able to share Christmas and birthdays with them.
In recent years we have been able to watch videos of our sponsored child and this makes it more personal and real to our family. We are happy that our donations make a difference to the lives of children and their communities.
Impersonal treatment, abrupt discontinuation of services
For the past 10 years I've sponsored a little girl in Haiti through World Vision. When I initially signed up, I was given to understand that I could mail presents, that I would get a photo of her with the presents I sent, that I would be able to email her and get replies, and that I would continue to sponsor her until she was 18. I joined because I wanted the personal relationship this seemed to promise.
At first I got photos of her with the gifts I sent her, but soon I didn't get photos unless I sent monetary gifts. No photos were provided with the packages I sent through the mail.
A couple of years ago they changed her address without informing me. I had made pre-printed address labels, so didn't realize the presents were going to the wrong address until one of my gifts was returned in the mail a year later. I don't know what happened to the other gifts. I sent more packages to the correct address over a year ago, but got no response.
This week I suddenly got an email that said my child's community has "graduated". They included a film that showed the community has clean water, some sanitary facilities and a play area, but not a lot else. I know my child went to school, but don't know if the school will continue, what the children have been learning, or what sort of medical care they may receive in the future.
There used to be an email where I could write with questions or complaints, but now I can't find it in their emails or on their site. They provide a phone number, so I called it and waited on hold. I spoke to an overly chatty but rather glib man who told me my child didn't receive the last few packages I sent, that I should've called sooner, and that they are not responsible for the mail in Nicaragua. (I reminded him that my child is in Haiti.) I went to a lot of trouble to mail these things and am so disappointed. He told me I can send her a final email, but no further letters, monetary gifts or packages.
I am really disappointed that this was done with no prior notice. My sponsored child is only 12. I had purchased other gifts to send her and now don't know what to do with them. This is too abrupt. I feel that World Vision has abandoned both my sponsored child and myself without sufficient advance notice or information.
I also learned that they've already ended the monthly donation to my sponsored child and transferred it to another child in a different country without my permission. This was not clear in the emails they sent me. I told them to stop the donation as I don't want to repeat this experience.
It's probably a better use of funds just to donate to a charity that provides food, education or healthcare without promising a "personal connection." Your money will be better spent, and you and your sponsored child won't wind up feeling abandoned.
I have been sponsoring Aminata K for…
I have been sponsoring Aminata K for several months now, and I have not yet received any acknowledgement from worldvision or letters/cards from my sponsor child. While I do not want to stop paying, it would be nice to know where my £26 per month is going-many thanks in advance!
We've been sponsoring children for a…
We've been sponsoring children for a l-o-n-g time. At least 37 years, as we've been married that long and sponsored children before then. We've always found World Vision to be a reliable and on-the-ball charity. They update their website and make it much easier to interact and find further info about your sponsored child. We've never found anything to go wrong, and we thoroughly trust them and their mission. Thank you, Team World Vision!
I love sponsoring children through World Vision
I love sponsoring children through World Vision as I get lots of updates and opportunities to write and receive letters and drawings. It's so rewarding and a wonderful way to make a difference in a child's life
A wonderful charity we've been supporting for years
We have been sponsoring children through World Vision
for many many years. We love getting letters from our sponsored children and hearing about what they are doing, as well as getting the regular updates on the progress of our sponsored children and their communities which helps us understand the problems that they and their communities are facing. We like that World Vision helps the whole community, not just the sponsored children, in so many ways, from practical help like provision of clean water, to education, to supporting parents to set up businesses to support their families. It's also great that their work equips the community to continue these improvements themselves, so that more communities can then be helped.
