WritingMate.ai: Hobbyist Project with Inadequate Customer Service

My experience with WritingMate.ai has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Despite attempting to cancel my subscription months ago through their interface, I was still auto-renewed and charged $239.88. Their support, particularly Ruby, has been unhelpful and seems more interested in shifting blame than resolving the issue. They claim their product doesn't have an auto-renew toggle, which contradicts my actions and makes me question their transparency.

The "subscription cancellation process" they refer to is clearly not straightforward if users are being charged after attempting to cancel. This indicates either a deceptive practice or incredibly poor system management. I had to threaten disputing the charge and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau to even get a partial refund ($232.62, with them keeping Stripe processing fees). This entire ordeal suggests WritingMate.ai is not a professionally run company but rather a hobbyist project with inadequate customer service and misleading billing practices. Even 1 of the positive reviews here is the founder himself. I strongly advise against using their service.

Rip Off

I don['t know if the models are altered there or not but it sure seems like every simple interaction takes several times as many back & forths. I code. I've used ChatGPT, Claude Grok, and Gemini in their native platforms extensively. Several hours a day. In a couple hours on Writingmate I tried a few models and felt the same. It was very frustrating and time wasting. Then, withing 2 or 3 hrs, i am told I have used my MONTHLY allotment of credits and I should upgrade my subscription from the $30 plan.

I cancelled.

This is a HUGE rip off. The models are all old and very exopnsive.

I get much better access with the FREE accounts from the natives. And paying $20-30/mo on any of them give you MUCH more access to even their most modern models (except OpenAi).

Sure, Writingmate give you 100s of models so if you really want to play with them then maybe its worth it, but if you want to get AY work done,,, RUB don't walk AWAY from here.

Please avoid WritingMate.AI

Please avoid. Bought the Premium model. Very slow even though description and marketing says otherwise. No refund policy. Better to use the actual model itself from the original website. e.g Chatgpt or Claude. etc.

Currently in battle to get a refund after using 4 hours post subscription, as it was constantly errorring.

Another aspect is the fact that once you cancel subscription and there are days left in that subscription, the portal won't allow you to use their services even though you have already paid for month.

On their promotion page they state 14 day refund policy , but in their terms they say they can't. Shows how fraudulent practices are prevent in this company.

Avoid at all costs.

Scam service

Scam service. I paid for the Pro subscription, which they said models like GPT 4o Mini is unlimited. After a while of using, the website said I've reached the daily limit. Terrible experience

The tool that helps me create no-code apps and compare AI models

Even though there are minor performance issues sometimes, this platform really gives access to all the well-known paid AI models and helps me compare results from different LLMs.

Also, I'm not into engineering at all, and this tool writes the code for me and shows prototypes right away (in my experience, GPT-4 mini and Claude 3.5 are especially good at this).
