I had the Halibut and cooked in my new…
I had the Halibut and cooked in my new steam oven.
It was very good. After unthawing there was no Fish odor inicating that it was fresh. The Halibut was moist and flakey.

Utterly Delicious
I have yet to receive something from Wulfs that wasn't utterly delicious. In this particular case, I was shipping to my niece's in Raleigh for a remembrance for my brother who passed away. I wanted to make sure I could "bring" something that would be great at it was. Shrimp and smoked salmon.

I realized that the price came out to $29 a pound which is outrageously expensive. If you have a price reduction for Loch Duarte Salmon let me know. Is it cheaper to buy a whole salmon that I could cut up myself? Or 2 pound pieces would also be good for me.
These were 1/2 pound pieces individually wrapped.

Thank you for your review, Lauri. We understand that $29 a pound may seem like a lot for salmon in general, but not all fish is created equal! With Wulf's, you can be 100% sure that you know where your fish comes from and why it's better. Loch Duart salmon is indeed not cheap but for very good reasons:
Loch Duart heritage salmon is one of the best salmon money can buy. The fish are reared without hormones, antibiotics, growth promoters, grow-lights or GMOs and is genetically indistinguishable from the highly protected wild Atlantic salmon. For these reasons, it carries the highest mark in French gastronomy — Label Rouge — which designates the best produced and best tasting products in the world. As a fun fact, Loch Duart salmon was on the menu for the Royal Wedding and is currently served at top restaurants around the world.
Our decades-long personal relationship with the producer also ensures we always receive tip-top quality salmon for our chef clients and home cook customers alike. We also process our fish by hand and ensure eyes on every single piece for quality (instead of shipping them out to fulfillment centers). 40 bucks is a lot for 2 crabs. I know shipping and stuff, but seriously. I thought they were going to be softshell green crabs as well.
But that was on me, thought it was more than that, misread the print.

Hi John, thank you for your review. Indeed, the crabs you purchased are in-season Maryland soft shell blue crabs that have been cleaned with gills removed and ready to enjoy as a seasonal delicacy!
Green crabs is another offering in our "crab" category. They are invasive species and are part of our ongoing efforts to "eat the invaders". We partner with GreenCrab.org for this initiative and were recently featured in NYT for that reason. However, it's nearly impossible to get soft shell green crabs since they molt at different times and most importantly, molting crabs are often eaten by other green crabs. So, the green crabs we offer both home cooks and chefs are hard shells and used primarily for rich stocks and broths.

I enjoy their fish and shellfish, especially those lobster tails. The first time I ordered lobster and haddock, and it took longer than it should have. My second order was on time. I hope it remains this way, because I'll be ordering more.
