Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 49 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People struggle to reach anyone on the phone, and complaints or repair requests are frequently ignored for months. Customers also experience living with severe unresolved issues like persistent water leaks, broken lifts, and terrible property management. Many residents feel completely unsupported and stressed out by the endless delays and complete lack of communication. Some reviewers were happy with specific staff members who provided helpful assistance and successfully resolved their accounts. These positive experiences, though less common, show that a few employees can still offer polite and courteous service.

My heart is broken.

My heart is broken.
In a space of one week, the most unimaginable tariff was forced on me through Vital Energi. I went from paying max £67 per month on Gas to over £140 per week in a 2 bed flat. Why have you done this A2? This is highly depressing. Please sort this out ASAP.

I’m had to call them for an emergency

I’m had to call them for an emergency. Carbon monoxide alarm going off , was given a reference job no, was told it is an emergency and someone will be here within 24hrs. No one came, no record of the job, even though I had a reference no, had to get it dealt with the following day , now waiting for someone to come, shocking, given the dangerous circumstances

Incompetent - will take to court

Without any notice they shut down lift on 20th December, right before Xmas. Worse- it’s now 29th January when set deadline to fix was 26th January. Customer service is useless, their contractors are incompetent. The building has 6 floors full of people with kids, buggies, disabled people. My wife is 7 months pregnant and is forced to walk up and down to 5th floor everyday risking injury, whilst all these people do is allegedly “send an email to chase the repair up”. Useless, incompetent, disgraceful. Inhabitants of the whole building block will be taking them to court for gross negligence of health and safety, mental health and health damages.

I'd rather nail my private parts to a plank of wood than deal with these.

Trying to extend my lease, which is like getting your wisdom teeth pulled. Followed instructions that were given to me, only be told that they only have a lease there and to contact the freeholders. They gave me the wrong details. Par for the course, really. They now won't give me the correct details, so that's great.
And they never did fix that doorbell.

For all of the 5 years I lived in a…

For all of the 5 years I lived in a A2Dominion shared ownership property they charged us a service charge deficit based on a freeholder demand.

However for 3 of the years the freeholder (Ballymore) cancelled the deficit and refunded owners.

A2Dominion refuse to refund shared owners, effectively pocketing our refund. Over 3 years this was £2000+. There are 16 flats in my block, we estimated they have fraudulently withheld £40,000+ from us.

I've chased and chased and asked the freeholder and written to their CEO and spoken to lawyers.

It's criminal. They should not be allowed to exist. They should be in jail.

A2DOMINION never helps their residents

A2DOMINION never helps their residents, especially the share ownership tenants. There is homeless ppl hanging around on building corridors and smoking weed on stairwell, dangerous cladding, broken lifts. Uncleaned corridors and stairwell. Poor building management (First Port) which never answer their phones or emails. Residents go around in circles. We have broken lifts since 16 December and no getting fixed. Never buy or rent from A2DOMINION otherwise you will regret it big time. I did. And now I'm trapped in a dangerous cladding building.

Disappointing Experience with A2dominion

I recently had an experience with A2dominion that left me dissatisfied. The service provided fell short of expectations, particularly in [poor management of elevators ]. Despite attempts to address these concerns, resolution was not achieved.

I believe transparency and effective communication are crucial in service industries, and unfortunately, this was lacking in my interaction with A2dominion. The complaints was not handled to my satisfaction, and it has left me questioning the overall quality of their services.

I hope my feedback serves as constructive criticism, and I encourage A2dominion to review their processes to enhance customer satisfaction.

Leak

So 2 nights ago a leak happened from my bathroom and was gushing down the ceiling to the living room hallway and dining room . The carpet is sokaed through , the electric lights were flickering the leak happened for 19hrs from 4pm till about 11am the next day .

I called a2 Dominion the night it started and they said it will be put down as urgent and priority and someone will come to the home between then and 24 hrs . The leak continued all through the night .
My son is autistic and was having a meltdown as he couldn't have a bath and couldn't go to the living room or even downstairs for that matter . I turned the mains off but it still gushed .
An electrician came out and said I shouldn't be here . The plumber came said I shouldnt be here too . I recorded all conversations !!

I then was told that a David brand in the repairs management team approved a decant yesterday at 1.06 pm and I kept calling for info . It wasn't marked as urgent so we did not get decanted .
It was absolutely freezing in here . My son has a cold and is not at school because he is unregulated and couldn't sleep for the second night .
A surveyet came round today and said Its classed as an emergency
I don't think they will be decanting me as a2 always push things to as far as they can go . But this leak has happened before and I had to be decanted for 10 weeks as the ceiling caved in .

There is asbestos in the ceilings and I'm not being listened to .

This company keeps ringing and texting my 12 year old sons number regarding rent arrears, I’ve told them numerous times that they either have the wrong number or the women who actually owes them has given them a false number. We do not live in London never have. So can you take my 12 year old number from your database like I was told would happen

The 1 star is generous

The 1 star is generous. I would give a minus if I could.

The worst company I have ever had to deal with. Do not sort out issues, do not respond to complaints but will ask you for money and expect it immediately. Do not follow correct section 20 procedures for leaseholders.

I have no idea how they are still operating as judging by other reviews, the general consensus is that of negativity and despair!

They don’t even deserve the one star

They don’t even deserve the one star, they take everyone’s hard earned money and never do anything. They never deal with a compliant and just ask for more money. Stay away from this company they aren’t here to help you. I wish I had never got involved in there part buy part let. They have been unless at every turn. We have been charged over 2 grand extra in service charge and they can’t even change a light bulb.

1 star is way too generous

1 star is way too generous! Quite possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with. The lift has in my flat has been broken for nearly 3 months. Nearly every tenant has called and everyone gets a different repair date which never happens. A2 claim contractors are coming to fix it and the contractors have no idea about it. Avoid getting a place with A2!!

OMG horrible, stay well clear

OMG horrible, awful. So many comments I could put about my experience with A2 Dominion housing. I've been a tenant of A2 for nearly 30 years. The staff in the income support office are unhelpful, unsupportive. A2 dominion are robbers. They sent me a statement telling my that my service charge was £500+ in arrears and I need to make arrangements for payment. I contacted them to work out a payment plan. When I finished paying an extra £80 per month over 6 months, I tried to contact income support to make sure the final payment would be my last. It turns out I didn't owe them anything and my account was £780 in credit. They knew their mistake, but they never contacted me to apologise or cancel the extra payments they were taking from me. Thru just kept on taking the extra money anyway. I left so many messages for the income support team to call me back. Nobody ever did. Now I've received another statement saying I owe £250 in service charges. Left two messages for them to call me back. Again nothing. If you value your sanity, don't deal with them. Greedy, unhelpful, money-grabbers. Nasty.

A2Dominion are the worst housing providers ever!

There is nothing right with this housing provider, they provide no service all their way up to their managing directors and executive board. They lie about service charges and repair costs incurred for the year, and they do this repeatedly. Upon questioning they threaten and bully residents. They have some very incompetent staff all the way up to the top boss, they are rude and unreliable. The never do any repair works and if they do these are just superficial paint and plaster jobs which then lead to massive repair work in the end. However, they do charge residents the costs for big repairs every single time, but no we cannot question them or ask details of the costs incurred. They don't care about residents safety, currently living in a building with fire and safety concerns, but we could be talking to the walls because A2D don't care about it for the last 10 years. We have safeguarding issues. We have concerns around cleaning and maintenance. We have leaks in the building. They keep increasing rent costs and service changes with no justification. The list of concerns is endless, so I will just end by saying- Don't but or rent A2D properties, unless you want to increase your stress and anxiety and more importantly, do not give your hard earned money to a housing provider like A2Dominion who will not deliver or provide any service.
