Armed Forces Mutual is an outstanding…

Armed Forces Mutual is an outstanding customer focused company. I have been a member since 1965. I spoke with Amy Marotto today about Survivor Assistance Services. She answered all my questions and put me at ease about the help my wife will receive after I pass on. She gave me suggestions and followed up with immediately with an email reminding me about some documents I needed to send her. My wife is in good hands with people like Amy. I made a good decision to have insurance with Armed Forces Mutual.

Change beneficiary to a trust.

I needed to change my life insurance beneficiary from an individual to a trust. After explaining what I needed the Policy Services Representative (Lesley) knew exactly what to do, explained the steps, provided the required form, and stated I would receive confirmation of the change within days. In addition, she was pleasant and professional. Bottom line: EXCELLENT customer service.

aafmaa won't give life insurance if you are going to die. Even though we all will someday.

Received the denial letter today from aafmaa. Because my husband has a service connected disability and is going to die someday, they won't give him life insurance. How ironic. Aren't we all doomed to death? Or did I miss something? So much for aafma helping the veteran. Don't waste your time and energy if you too will die someday. You won't receive life insurance through them.

Reply from Armed Forces Mutual

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this situation can feel. Life insurance decisions are based on established underwriting guidelines, which consider a range of factors including medical history and overall risk, and unfortunately not all applications can be approved.

We truly respect your husband’s service and your family’s sacrifice, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Professionalism is key to exceptional customer service

I just returned from a deployment and realized my cap loan wasnt coming out of my account so i called AAFMAA and was told my cap loan has lapse and it had been sent to the creditor. The person i spoke to was rude and it sounded as if she was laughing but she did give me the number to the creditor, i called them and they told me to call AAFMAA back because the couldnt locate anything for me so i called AAFMAA back for the third time and i finally by the grace of God was able to speak to Leslie Sulam, i told her what the creditor told me and she was absolutely amazing, she was careing, professional, and proficient with her job. She was able to assist me with the default of the loan. Im so grateful you all hire representatives like Ms. Sulam, she took the time to look into it and help me. She is definitely what corporations that deal with Soldiers need. She should be used to train others on customer service, because she kept her professionalism at all time. Although it was my fault i should have had my husband to look into it while i was deployed. She still helped me and made me feel like a valuable customer. Its been a while since i've received such exceptional customer service and its not just because thing went in my favor, its because she took the time to look into it. Thank you so much Ms. Sulam for taking the time and being proficient at your job, those are skill that should be exemplified in all employee but they're not. One thing is for certain you definitely have what it takes to lead and train, you are awesome.

Request for membership card.

I emailed a request for a membership card yesterday, and received a polite response today saying they are sending me a card. Quick action, quick response and caring, professional attitude. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Great response time

Great response time! Sent and received emails same day. That is the way to treat customers and an excellent use of the Contact Us form. Usually I get a delayed response from companies which means I have to look up why I called them in the first place.

Excellent Member Support from Megan Penry

I recently contacted Armed Forces Mutual with questions about my father’s documents and had the good fortune to work with Megan Penry, ALMI®, Senior Member Benefits Coordinator.

Megan was knowledgeable, patient, and exceptionally helpful. She took the time to walk through my questions carefully and made sure I understood exactly what was needed. Managing documents for a 97-year-old parent can sometimes be complicated, but Megan handled everything with professionalism and clarity.

It’s rare these days to encounter customer service that is both efficient and genuinely attentive. Megan provided both, and I’m very grateful for her assistance.

Great Experience with AFM!

I had a very positive experience with Armed Forces Mutual today. I called to do a change to my policy, which by all standards would have been considered last minute. The representative who assisted me, Ms. Bonina, was excellent. She had a great attitude, was polite and super helpful. She did not care about the last-minute nature of my call, she was about helping. With the day that I have had, it was very much appreciated! Thank you Ms. Bonina and thank you AFM!

Excellent experience becoming a member of AAFMAA. I purchased life insurance products, and the process was super-smooth and simple.

AFM Should be on speed dial!

AFM is a great organization with a deeply meetingful mission. Amy Marotto was most helpful in updating the information I've kept on file as well as crafting a way ahead to prepare our affairs and ensure our family is well prepared when the time comes. This is an important brick to remove from our ruck sack; piece of mind!
