This is the best airport I’ve ever been…

This is the best airport I’ve ever been to. A good example of how small is better — much easier to have a dog than an elephant as a pet, or much more intimate to visit an artisan shop than a corporate business.

This airport offers a comfy space to relax, with low noise and a more than fair amount of comfort and proximity.

It inspires me.

Worst experience ever!

Worst experience ever!

THE VIP LOUNGE hired the wrong customer service!
I stopped by this lounge after a work trip and was there for only 30 minutes. During that short time, I was shocked by the behavior of a staff member, Michele. She accused me of stealing simply because I grabbed a bottle of water and refilled my small 50cc water bottle.

For the record, I didn’t consume anything else—just water. When I explained that accusing someone of theft over water is both insulting and unnecessary, she doubled down and insisted I was stealing.

This is completely unacceptable. To treat a customer this way is not only unprofessional but also incredibly rude. A VIP lounge should make guests feel welcomed, not humiliated.

I will never return, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before visiting.

Delays and refusing to help

Delayed flights, missing the connected flight due to this. Staff refused to rebook our tickets to the earlier, also delayed, flight to make it to the connection. Small airport, nothing to do, no compensation. Stranded since it was the last flight of the night. Really bad.

We understand your frustration, but unfortunately, delayed flights like these are beyond our control. Our staff will do whatever they can in situations like this, but in terms of compensation and rebooking, it is all up to the airline.

We have to follow the airlines' policies, which is why our staff could not just rebook your tickets to an earlier flight. It is very unfortunate that your experience was that they simple refused to do so.

Commucation is key in situations like this, and we always seek to do our best for our passengers.

Probably the best airport in the world.

Probably the best airport I have ever seen, and I have seen plenty.

1) The security check is a bliss. Every person has their own spot and the tray is automatically sent through the x-ray machine. This means that everybody knows where the queue is and no more stress about getting everything out in a rush while you feel other people's breath down the back of your next. I honestly believe TSA checks are overall useless with only 10-15% prevention rate against dangerous items, but as long as they last less than 10 minutes, I am OK. Nothing beats individual background checks. It would be nice if the new x-ray machines can be reintroduced we don't need to get the computer out.

2) The staff is the friendliest I have never seen, they are highly competent and they answer your questions with a smile. And if they don't know the answer to your questions, they direct you to a source of information. Amazing people!

3) I don't believe there is any other airport in this world where it takes less than 10 minutes between touch-down and being in the bus on the way to the city centre. The revolving door from arrivals may be a bottle neck sometimes though which could be solved. It would definitely be nice if DSB could have some routes organised based on departures/arrivals,

4) Plenty of seats and decent waiting areas. I believe is basic human respect to offer seats for your guests and this airport has plenty also in the proximity of the gates.

Really, this airport is the best I have seen and it is always a pleasure to take off/touch down here.

No toilets

We have 10 different toilet facilities throughout the terminal here at Aalborg Airport - with capacity adjusted to the different areas.

Besides the main areas, you will find toilets in connection to each gate area, so you will not come across all toilets on your way through the airport, but most likely 2-4, as you experienced yourself.

If you are in need to find additional toilets, feel free to ask our staff, who will be more than happy to help you.

I do travel quite a lot but AAL...

I travel frequently—typically around 20 flights per year—and unfortunately, a few of those involve Aalborg Airport (AAL). Each time, I’m reminded why I try to avoid it.

From the moment I enter the terminal, there’s an unmistakable air of entitlement from the staff. Whether it’s security or food service, the attitude is consistent: disengaged, inattentive, and at times bordering on outright rude. It's as if the presence of paying passengers is an inconvenience, rather than the very reason their jobs exist.

Security staff in particular seem to embody a kind of lethargy that would be unacceptable in almost any other country. Despite being the only traveler in line during my most recent visit, I was made to wait while staff lingered, moved slowly, and acted more as if they were performing a personal favor than doing a job. Their behavior walked a fine line between laziness and low-level harassment, as if the inconvenience they caused was somehow intentional.

The food service staff, sadly, mirrored this attitude. Rather than welcoming or proactively assisting customers, they stood around chatting with each other—ignoring the very people who pay their wages. The lack of basic customer service awareness is startling, especially in an international travel hub.

I understand that some of these roles may be publicly subsidized, but that does not excuse the absence of professionalism or common courtesy. For those who have a choice, I strongly recommend avoiding AAL whenever possible. The experience is consistently underwhelming, and the level of service leaves much to be desired.

From the majority of other passengers, in terms of our staff, we usually hear the opposite, where they are described as professionel and welcoming with a smile. But to achieve the experience of perfect customer service from everyone's perspective is difficult.

It is an ungoing process, where valuable feedback like this makes us keen on during things better for every passenger traveling to and from Aalborg Airport.
