Dramatic drop in quality

Long time customer about to churn. Absolutely disappointed by how quality has radically dropped in the last 2 years. We have the protein box. For the last 6 months, at least, we have consistently gotten the same thing every week. A fish, a chicken and a vegetarian dish. The problem is that none of it is fresh. Just processed food in form of “fars “ which looks like a sausage filled with processed fish or chicken meal. When we first became customers we had the same box. Real meat. Real variety. Excellent quality of both veggies and meat. We now pay more, are members and if I see fars once again I will puke. So. Great initiative at first. Loved and supported it for a long time and hoped that it would get better. But value for money is a thing. And this is not working anymore.

I have been a customer of Aarstiderne…

I have been a customer of Aarstiderne for the last four years and a member for the last two years. Overall I love their products and their service. And I think that ‘most’ things are good value for the money spent.

Their vegan meal box is great and this is what we buy mostly. It could be a little less ‘the same’ from month to month and now that it is summer it could include more seasonal things (e.g. asparagus, sweetcorn, etc.). Nevertheless we are happy with it.

There mixed vegetable and fruit boxes are fun and whilst expensive, can be good value on the right month.

Their groceries are high in price but with a membership it comes with free delivery and if they accidentally send a slightly damaged item or non-ripe produce they always quickly reimburse. They have special produce as well that is hard to find in other places in Denmark (e.g. Lions Mane mushrooms, certain exotic organic fruits, etc.). their produce is mostly always of the highest quality.

My danish is not great so I always message customer support in English 🙉 and they are always super helpful and understanding. Best customer support.

Oh and they are a B-Corp company which is the best to support!

Rude and vague customer service

I have been seeing ads online so I decided to give it a shot. Made an order buy then received a very rude and cold email from customer service (someone called Vivi) saying they are closing my account because of a descrepancy in my name and address but didnt bother to explain further and asked for my CPR nr. I wrote back asking for an explanation but nothing. I still think it might be spam but the email address checks out and I didnt receive the order. So weird!

The quality of the ingredients and some…

The quality of the ingredients and some of the menus are good, but there were generally not enough proteins and the size of portion is too small for us in comparison with the price. It didn’t reduce cooking time either, because almost all materials are raw ingredients so you have to cook from scratch. You have to prepare all seasonings by yourself while they provide herbs. It’s recommended for ones who cannot shop glossary and do not have much repertoire of recipes. It didn’t apply to us.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with lack of protein and small portions. I have shared your feedback with the cook responsible for the meal box in question 💪

Prep time on our other boxes varies somewhere from approximately 40 to 30 minutes. We value fresh and high quality produce, so there will be fairly high amount of raw vegetables and fruit to prep and cook. All of the meal boxes have an estimated timeframe, so if time is an important parameter you can choose one of the boxes with more pre-prepped items like KvikKassen and 10 MinuttersKassen 🍝

Disappointing

You should of course not pay for bad produce and I can see that you contacted our customer service regarding the issue. Thank you for letting us know so we can also check up on it in our quality control.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I could not see an option on their website to order a single one-time box without having to sign up for their abonnement, so I decided to send them an email. The day after, since they havent replied yet, I decided to call them. I have spoken to one guy who said he'll help me set up my profile. I have spent almost 30 minutes on the phone with him, and gone through a lot of hoops just to make a normal profile without having to pay as member. Ridiculous. I told him that I would like to try just the godmorgen box ONE TIME! To try it out. He said no issues, but he could make any changes in my account from his end including adding boxes, which kinda creeped me out. So he also added this box to my calendar. With my permission of course. Later that day I have received answer to my first email, and their employee told me she can see that now I have a box and if there's any things she wants me to help with it, to let her know. I did not reply to this mail since I did not see there was a need to. This morning I see a faktura in my email that I was added a budget box to my calendar scheduled every week and an abonnement on top of that. I have nerver agreed to that. I called them to dispute this with them and this lady says she sees that I have gotten an email from her colleague. This only made me more irritated because even in my previous email I have never said I want an abonnement. So I told her I have never ordered an abonnement and I may have slipped a swear word, although it was not even directed at her. Then she replied with an attitude that shes gonna hang up in my face if I swear. I had to play nice just so I dont end up with an unwanted abonnement. So yea, there you have it people. Thats how much they care about keeping their customers. Nevertheless, she cancelled the abonnement but this left a very sour taste in my mouth and I will think very heavily before I go into a membership with these people or even order any more boxes from them at all.

I can understand that you wanted to try out a one-time delivery but that there were issues with setting up the profile and order as you would like. As a result, you contacted us both on email and phone.
After that everything was supposedly fine, but this morning you saw a receipt saying that in addition to your Godmorgen Box a subscription for a Budget Box was added.
You then contacted us on the phone because you wanted to understand what had happened. As I read your description of the situation, you were upset and said some swear words in the conversation with my colleague. You perceived her response to this as giving you an attitude. It sounds like you both misunderstood each other’s intentions and of course that is unproductive to the conversation.

We always want to help our customers and we believe that mutual kind and respectful language is the way to go. Therefore, if we experience unacceptable language, we must let the customer know that we would like them to speak respectfully as our customers can expect the same from us.
Regarding your order, I can’t see what specifically happened because your post is anonymous but of course it must feel uncomfortable with an unexpected change to your account. When you spoke to us the first time, you express that you were uncomfortable with my male colleague being able to make changes to your account. It is true that we do have access to make changes to our customers’ orders because many customers rely on us to make the changes they would like. I want to emphasize that we never intend to make unwanted orders for our customers – that only leaves both them and us with a bad experience.
I hope that your order is as you wish. Please feel free to contact us if there’s anything else we need to look at.

Quality products

All products are in preferred quality. The juices, grapefruit and klementin, are tasteful and fresh. Fast dilevery.

Average quality ingredients, below average instructions

Took 2 boxes (vegetar) to try out the service as there was a promotion for a free knife, and many friends have had positive experience with such concepts.

First and foremost, the knife was not included in the first box as there was some 'fine print' that was not written on the brochure, so we were required to call and order a second box. Annoying, but not a huge issue.

The quality of ingredients in the box was ok. Better than what you would get from EatGrim (understandably so), worse than what you would find at Fakta or Netto. However, the day 4 recipes that called for carrots and koriander were often looking quite bad and not surviving that long, which was odd. I also disliked how much plastic and packaging there was, but that seems to be the reality we live in.

Overall, the recipes were strange and the instructions were lacking heavily. I tried to follow the instructions exactly as written, so I could give a fair review. However, many things I disagreed with and would have done differently; basic things such as size that food should be cut, order of cooking, including/excluding certain ingredients, and so on. The end product was often something that tasted mediocre and took about the same time to cook and prepare that a meal without the box would take.

The biggest advantage this concept gives, is that you do not need to go the the grocery store, which for some, saves money and time.

Less food, more cost

I have been a member almost since it started. It is very good. The fruit and veggies last forever in the fridge. But as time goes by - two things are certain. The amount you get is less. The last or 5 times, you could easily use a smaller crate. I did not weigh them, but I used to get a crate so heavy, I could not lift it. Another thing they have recently done is that extra things you want have to be through their so-called "købmandsbutik." which I absolutely hate because you have to buy for at least 150 kr. Before i could always just add a salat or olive oil. And also- I have had a lemon bag for 50 kr every 2. week which does not exist anymore. I know times are tough, and freight and growing expenses must have increased, and especially not being able to buy single items without really irks me. You have to deliver anyway. What's the reason for this? I am a long term customer, and feel somehow that should be rewarded by not making it difficult to order single goods.

Too long time to cook

In the beginning it was pretty ok, but we got quickly tried of it.
We tried Kvikkasse which should take around 30 minutes but it usually end up taking minimum 45 minutes to one hour of two adults! It contains massive vegetables, maybe too much on the vegetables and way too less protein and carbohydrate.

I'm sorry Kvikkassen didn't live up to your expectations. We are aware that the cooking time may vary slightly, we try everything we can to comply with it. The cooking time is set from a box for 2 people, so it will of course take a little longer if it's for more than 2 people, as there is more cutting work.

When we put together a meal box, we work with a number of rules of thumb to ensure that you get a good meal that lives up to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration's recommendations. This means that you can count on the prepared meal always containing a minimum of 500 g of food per person. The distribution can of course vary, but as a general rule there will be 100 g of animal or plant-based protein (eg tofu or falafel mince), 100 g of starch in the form of eg rice, beans, lentils, couscous, pasta and 300 g of vegetables per person.

Quality food and nice variety -simple…

Quality food and nice variety -simple recipes but still fun like the “do it yourself’ pesto😊 however I recently increased my order size to 5 people and could not longer get the world box😔 while we are happy with the quick box, there is an issue with not enough food for five that is making us less satisfied of late😧

Fresh and premium ingredients delivered…

Fresh and premium ingredients delivered to our doorstep. We had the vegan menu for 2 persons for 4 days. Diverse menu with both Nordic burgers, Indian daal, Italian pasta and falafel like lentils patties. Preparation time between 20-40min. Saved us lots of time to not do grocery and menu planning that week. We had a great experience. The only backside is that the portions could have been a bit larger. But when added some potatoes, nuts and salad outside the recipes we were full. Overall we look forward to next week’s delivery.

But I'm sorry to hear, that the portions is a bit to small, that's not the idea. 😓

When we put together the meals, we try to make sure, that it lives up to the recommendations from Fødevarestyrelsen. That mean, that the meals should contain 500 grams of food for each person. Usually there will be a 100 grams protein from either animals or plants, 100 grams of starch and 300 grams of vegetables for each person.

Jeg er rigtig glad for, at du synes retterne var fine, men selvfølgelig lidt øv, at du ikke synes portionerne var helt store nok. 😖

Når vi sammensætter en måltidskasse arbejder vi med en række tommelfingerregler, der skal sikre, at du får et godt måltid, der lever op til Fødevarestyrelsens anbefalinger. Det betyder, at du kan regne med, at det tilberedte måltid altid indeholder minimum 500 g mad per person. Fordelingen kan naturligvis variere, men som hovedregel vil der være 100 g animalsk eller plantebaseret protein (fx tofu eller falafelfars), 100 g stivelse i form af fx ris, bønner, linser, couscous, pasta og 300 g grøntsager per person.

Men jeg kan se, at du har haft kontakt til vores kundeservice, og de har sørget for, at tage din feedback videre til vores kokke, selvfølgelig. 😊
