Part of order never arrived. Unable to contact supplier or get a refund.
Shocking. Do not recommend

Ordered an old children's book, and even though there was a long eta, it came much sooner than expected. And it was in great condition - the book had buttons that made noises and after replacing the battery, all the sounds still worked. A wonderful piece of nostalgia for to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday!

Easy to use website, Great selection of books availible. Excellent, prompt service.

I received the books all right. One was slightly damaged, I returned it (at my expenses). It has taken me a month and many reminders to be refunded.
Will not use them again.

Book was sold as in very good condition. Book arrived and had writing on about 50 percent of the pages. It was not usable as a school work book. The seller requested to post the item back the book in order to refund. However the postage would cost the same amount of the purchase price of the second hand workbook. What a waste of money and time!.

This is a scam Website.
I bought a book online from them but it never arrived. My emails have never been answered. The order went through on their website and I was charged for the book i had bought but nothing was delivered.
A complete scam. BEWARE!

I ordered a book set that was listed online. I then got a cancellation notice for the order this morning, saying that the order was in error. Now the same item is listed for 50% more.

No integrity. One and done.

Appalling service. Book ordered and paid for but not delivered and impossible to get meaningful responses to sort out .

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. I was missold a book and they never responded to any communication.

Ordered 2 books. One was not as described, writing on pages and highlighted on every single page!! The other one has never arrived! DO NOT USE!!

I purchased a hard back book that originated from SN Books of Thetford. The condition was described as VERY GOOD. When it arrived it was poorly wrapped and was battered from careless handling. When I sent photos to the seller requesting a refund, they stated that the book was in very good condition and what I should have expected. This is a disappointing attitude. This is quite poor when compared to other on-line second hand book sellers of which there are plenty to choose.

I got scammed, they never delivered my book, ignored all communication and never paid me my money back. Never use this website, terrible customer experience

I ordered a book through Abebooks. They took my money and a few later I received an email from them stating that the book had been dispatched and giving a tracking code. Unfortunately the tracking code is not recognised by the delivery company. I've waited a few weeks, but no book has been delivered. Trying to get a refund from Abebooks is proving impossible - their customer service forms just loop around claims that the item was dispatched (since they issued a dispatch code) so they cannot accept responsibility for nondelivery. There seems to be no other way to contact them. In short, they have not fulfilled an order, but seem to have no intention of refunding the payment. This seems to be a very common practice described in the other reviews of Abebooks. I should have heeded the warning of other reviewers. Hopefully you will take more notice.

Ordered a book on the place we were going on holiday. Ordered 21 Aug still not arrived we are now day 6 of our holiday. Absolute con. No response to emails. Not a reputable business at all. Steer clear. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. :-(

Usually OK but bought a book for £18 which I have never received. Useless delivery company Evri say they have delivered it but no photo or proof of delivery has ever been received. Both seller - Great Book Prices and Abe have been totally useless. Guess I’ll never get my money back.

I have used Abe a few times.. for this book I have been sent the wrong edition... twice. Both times a reprint with very inferior colours.. which for an art book is bad.
And completely impossible to contact them.

Bought a book on 17th Aug 25, expected delivery on 24th Aug 25, did not receive the item (today is 5th Sept 25), seller doesn't reply, and can not start refund because the seller added a tracking number to the order, so the system thinks the order is coming.
Royal mail doesn't have any information on that tracking number.

I ordered and paid for a book from this company on 10/8/25. To date (4/9/25) i have not received the book. I have emailed the company twice with no response. Consequently I have raised a dispute with my bank to try and get my money back. Other reviewers comments about being impossible to contact this company or tracking numbers they provide not being recognised are true. This is obviously a dishonest business who effectively have stolen my money. Do not use them is my advice.

Terrible experience. I ordered a book for my mother early August and still no book received. The website is very difficult to negotiate. It does indicate that we should be able to get a refund if the book has not been delivered. However when I try this option it says not eligible for a refund as tracking information has been provided. However, tracking information seems to have gone into a black hole. No responses from requests for updates to the supplier Great Book Prices UK. Don’t trust them
