I'm an ABOUT YOU VIP member, and this experience has seriously damaged my trust in the company.

I ordered a black Wrangler denim jacket from ABOUT YOU Croatia and paid full price for a new item. What arrived looked worn rather than new: an internal label was cut or torn, with remnants still sewn into the seam, and there were uneven faded patches around the collar and front edge. I photographed its condition immediately after opening the parcel, before wearing or washing it.

Paying full price and receiving a jacket in this condition is unacceptable. Customers should not have to question whether an item advertised as new has already been used.

The response over the phone was equally disappointing. I was told to return the jacket for a refund because a replacement in my size was unavailable. Their alternative was to sign up for a stock notification and wait indefinitely. I specifically wanted this jacket, not another round of ordering, waiting and dealing with delivery.

They also offered a 20% coupon for a future purchase. That is not a meaningful solution to the condition of an item I have already paid for. It simply requires me to spend more money with them.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the representative said their protocol did not allow it and that there was nothing else she could do.

Yes, a return and refund were offered. But that does not erase the wasted time or excuse sending out an item in this condition. Being a VIP member does not change the basic issue: every customer deserves properly checked merchandise and support that takes their concerns seriously.

Poor quality control and a rigid, unhelpful response. I expected considerably better from ABOUT YOU.

UPDATE – 29 September 2026:

After this review was posted, ABOUT YOU publicly acknowledged that an item sold as new should not have arrived with a cut label and faded patches, and stated that the matter would be escalated.

However, their final response was that they would not offer any proportionate price reduction because their internal procedure does not allow partial refunds. The only options remain returning the jacket for a full refund or accepting a 20% voucher for another purchase.

This is especially disappointing because a replacement in my size is unavailable. Despite their public acknowledgement, no individual solution or reasoned alternative was offered. The case ultimately ended with the same standard options, so my rating remains unchanged.

For me the most important thing is ease of returning product that doesn't fit. Just wrap it in existing bag, click return in the app and bring the package in the post office. Money back service is fast.
