Terrible company that could very well…

Terrible company that could very well be playing games with clients' money. Once the funds arrive at Accuplan, it is impossible to move them elsewhere. It is even more difficult to get anyone on the phone or by email to assist with questions. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE COMPANY!!!!

I regret doing business with Accuplan

I decided to switch firms because you are very difficult and not helpful to work with. Your NO customer service could not have made the transfer to my new custodian more difficult if you tried.
You can count on me for absolutely NO referrals after all the months of hell you put me and my custodian through to transfer my accounts.
I don’t understand how companies like you stay in business.
I hope you really look into how poor your non-existent customer service is.
Believe me, if I had the time, I would write to the SEC and the Federal Banking commission about your despicable behavior.

Helpful Assocaite

The person I spoke with was very patient, polite and professional. She made sure I filled the form for a withdrawal correctly which saved me a lot of time.

Difficult custodian to work with

I've held funds in a self-directed IRA for a few years with Accuplan now. I find their process to invest those funds cumbersom. They put transactions on hold, citing things that have already been taken care of like it's a boiler plate list, and not specific to my investment. They communicate almost exclusively through their online account alerts, which is also a bit discouraging. My guess is you can probably find a custodian that's easier to work with.

Accuplan secured my Retirement

Accuplan essentially secured my retirement by letting me invest my IRA funds into a rental property which has not only produced $3000+ per month in income but whose value since 2011 has increased from $325 to $1.1 million. I'm set! Plus I did not have to check my account value anytime the stock market had a bad day. Peace of mind in other words.

Using their website Chat app? Be prepared for marketing emails.

I had a quick question about Accuplan's business procedures and decided to try out the chat app on their website. You must enter a name and email address to be able to chat with someone. I used real information in both instances.

The chat was handled quickly and efficiently. And a transcript of the chat session was sent to me via email, which I appreciated. So this should have warranted a 5-star review from me.

However, providing my email address seems to have been regarded as tacit permission to be put on their marketing email list. Nothing was said about this or the use of my email information when I provided it in the chat.

So I have now had to make the effort to unsubscribe to future emails. For this reason I am rating the experience as a 3 (average). It seems that their chat app is more a sales and marketing tool rather than a means to be helpful in a manner that doesn't impose further on the prospective customer.
