Unethical company

I bought Ace Marks Chelsea boots for Christmas. Didn’t wear to office until the return window had passed (30 days). They are so painful, I just couldn’t wear them. I emailed customer service to see if I could get a return and heard nothing back. I can’t recommend these shoes or this company at all.

I left a negative review on their site and it was deleted. Very sketchy.

I wanted to love these shoes - the style and craftsmanship concept are exactly what I was looking for in handmade Italian dress shoes. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply frustrating.
First Pair: Visible separation defect at the vamp where lacing begins on the right shoe. After providing photos and follow-up, the company agreed to exchange them.
Second Pair: Even worse quality issues:
- Right shoe heel completely lacks a burnished finish - looks like two entirely different shoes from behind
- Noticeable streaking in the toe burnish
- Damaged, ripped box held together with tape
- Missing all standard packaging materials (wrapping, shoe stuffing, cardboard separators, and shoe-shine towel)
- Strong indication this was a previously returned pair.

Customer Service:
The customer service representative was genuinely helpful and responsive once we connected. They were professional, empathetic, and efficient in processing the first exchange, even upgrading the shipping. However, getting initial responses consistently required multiple follow-up emails and voicemails from me. Most concerning: after documenting the second pair's extensive defects with photos and following up immediately upon receiving the shoes, I still haven't received any response - a stark departure from their earlier helpfulness.
Bottom Line: The quality control is unacceptable for "luxury" handmade shoes at this price point. Receiving two consecutive defective pairs suggests systemic problems. While the representative provided good service during the first exchange, the complete silence following the second defective pair, and the strong appearance that I was sent a previously returned item, raises serious concerns about this company's standards and practices.

I genuinely wanted these shoes to work out, but I cannot recommend this company until they address their quality-control and customer-service consistency issues.

I reached out to Ace Marks customer…

I reached out to Ace Marks customer service for specifications on replacement laces for my Dress Sneaker in Black Leather. They provided specific measurements: "Ace Marks waxed round dress shoe laces are 1/8" diameter and 75 cm (approximately 30 inches) in length."
I purchased laces based on these specifications, only to discover when attempting to replace them that the actual length needed is 48 inches - not 30 inches. That's a 60% difference in length, making the laces I bought completely unusable.
This error created both additional expense and a time crunch, as I have a business trip in early December and now must rush to find the correct laces. What's particularly frustrating is that customer service had access to my order history and could have looked up the exact specifications for my specific shoe model rather than providing generic (and incorrect) information.
For a company selling premium Italian dress shoes, I expected more accurate product knowledge and attention to detail from the customer service team. I hope they improve their training and product specifications database to prevent this from happening to other customers.

Dodge A Bullet

My wife surprised me with a pair of shoes from this brand — her thought was, “For $70, if he doesn’t like them, no big loss.” I actually really liked them at first. But after about two months of light wear, they started to rip.

I contacted customer service and quickly got a text asking for photos — so far, so good. Then they told me the shoes weren’t theirs because there was no logo on the sole. I even sent a screenshot from their own website showing the same sole with no logo, but they still refused to help. Their response was basically that unless you buy directly from their website, they take no responsibility for quality issues.

At the end of the day, I guess I dodged a bullet spending $70 instead of $260. But I definitely won’t be buying from this brand again.

2 Months and no word

Well, I can't rate shoes since it has been 2 months since I placed an order and there isn't even an update, no anticipated ship date...nothing.

Update 3/24, response from the company claiming this is a pre-order shoe, yet I see plenty of people who have them. I know when I ordered them there was no clear messaging that these were pre-order, let alone a 3-6 month lead time, or I would have never ordered them.

I'm surprised they even responded, but I'm requesting my order be canceled. If they can't even narrow down a better time frame than 3-6 months, it doesn't do me any good because these shoes were supposed to be for a wedding.

Now I find out, even though I literally don't see anything on their website, that they'll only do a partial refund and partial store credit because it has been more than 30 days. The only thing I see on their website is 30 day return policy. Sketchy company to say the least.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service. Returned several shoes as their sizes are inconsistent. The returns dept was backed up and after several months they indicated they had not received them when in fact they did according to delivery signature. The shoes are average and customer service is absolutely terrible.

And I have text messages and emails to confirm they received the returned shoes and never provided shoes as part of an exchange I requested and they confirmed by asking for my size. Never received my shoes and they denied refunds. Absolutely terrible customer service.

do NOT order from this company, it's been nightmare trying to do a return. They charged me $20 to start the return process, then they said it needs to approved first. After a week of me calling them, texting and emailing them nobody will get back to me to give me the return label I paid $20 for. It's horrible experience to return, I can't get my money back. I would stay away from them

Good experience - 4.5 stars

First order. Pair of loafers. Shipped and arrived very quickly. Quality appears decent but won't know until multiple wears. Sizing was SPOT ON using their advised brannock sizing guide. Only issue was the shoe (not packing) box was somewhat beat up. I like to store my shoes bagged in their box. I'll likely order again (on sale).

Fraud Alert

I placed an order for two pairs of shoes, but never received a confirmation email. After a week I contacted them and they sent me the confirmation email. Finally when I got the shoes one of them was scuffed and none of them fit properly. I emailed the customer service and they directed me to a site to pay $16 for return shipping which I did. I never received the label for shipping that I paid for so I emailed them again and they said “ we are sorry you didn’t get the label we will send it again “ I never received it for the second time so I emailed them again and they said well actually you need to send us a picture of the shoes first then we can proceed with the return! ( if that’s the case why did they say they will send me the return label again ) so I sent them a picture of the shoes that have not been worn. They said we have a return team that need to review the pictures and we will get back to you at the end of the week. That was last week and they never responded to my email. In the past I purchased a pair from them and once I had a problem with them and it took a very long time to receive a response so I wrote a bad review. They emailed me and asked me to remove the video so I did because I thought it was a mistake, but never again. It’s obvious that they don’t want to accept the return and they are giving me the runaround. It’s not just bad business. It’s literally fraud. I will have proceed through my credit card company. Please do NOT shop from them or you will regret it for sure

Horrible Support

I placed an order with a rushed option that they include by default and paid for expedited shipping. 3 days later a support member ent me an email stating that y order couldn't be fulfilled and asked whether I prefer a store credit or a refund. I replied within 10 minutes and it's now been over a week and many attempts to connect with them with no success. Ended up having to file a claim with my credit card. Stay away from this company...

First I cannot review the shoes as they…

First I cannot review the shoes as they are stuck in customs. When I purchased Italian shoes I presumed they were coming to Ireland from Italy, not the USA.
They was no commercial invoice attached with the delivery so the shoes are stuck in Fedex as they cant's get customs clearance as they are coming from outside the EU. Fedex have tried to contact Ace Marks but no reply. I've just e mail them now so we will see what happens.

The dress shoes are VERY comfortable

The dress shoes are VERY comfortable. There was a time when I had to do door-to-door sales 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and Ace Marks were my only dress shoes at the time and they were very comfortable! Highly recommend, just make sure to not order during the holidays but that's with any company you order online with.
