I have used the Ucheck program for about a year to update my software and found it very quick and better compared to me trying to do this myself. It does far more than I can do. I used it on my friend's computer yesterday, and it found 89 programs out of date. The ease with which they can be updated is remarkable.

Even the free basic version is good value for what it is. Would rate higher if they enabled updates to the free version like Malwarebytes.
