Do better
I received an email from this company requesting payment for an unpaid utility bill which I never received from a utility company. Looking through my records, I noted that I had briefly been a client of the utility company and the sums demanded matched the period of time I was a client. Advancing Trade emailed me the bill I had never received, I paid and emailed proof of payment right away, and followed it up with a phone call to ensure that payment was received.
I was then informed that I had another outstanding bill with the same utility company. They emailed me a copy of the bill, I paid and emailed proof of payment. Oddly, I received 3 additional emails demanding the same payment to which I replied with the proof of payment, followed by 2 more SMS for the same. I called them today and received a vague excuse about the payment not being reflected in their accounting system yet. The operator then went on to say that she could see that payment had been received. Not even the semblance of an apology for the multiple emails and text messages. I asked for email confirmation from them that payment was received. No. That they cannot do. I paid, it’s done. They’re good at demanding payment but lousy at confirming that payment has been received.
