I see that I'm not alone in my experience with American Eagle's horrible customer service experience- lots of terrible ratings. Wow! Do better AE!!!
I had an issue with a product that was shipped to me, customer service sent me a return label and said to return it. Then the warehouse sent it back because the tags were not attached (which they knew from the start that I had removed the tags). So they charged my credit card again. Which is funny, because when my return happened, they only sent me a store credit for the return, they wouldn't return the money to my card... but then charged me again. Rip off artists!!! That should be illegal. I will never shop here again.

I am a regular client of the brand

I am a regular client of the brand. I returned an item from a previous order and was picking up another one in store. Out of the 3 items from that order I decided to take 1 item. That s 2 items to be refunded + 1 item that I brought to return, the clerk refunded me for 1 item and said the 2 others were cancelled and that I would get a credit from 5 to 7 days. This is the 11th day and after numerous calls, explaining, chatting and emailing still no joy! Be careful when your order and pick up your items, take them with you, leave for 5 mins and then return the items. The clerks will say they cancelled the items and will not give you a receipt for it. Then good luck trying to get a refund. If I ever order again from them, I will make sure I place 1 order per item. There is no other way. Also my refund amounts to 35$ but think twice if your order was 500$ and you tried to get a refund. Nobody cares, nobody really listens, nobody can even bring a solution to this. Be careful with returns in store. Not all clerks are honest.

bought 2 pairs of jeans

bought 2 pairs of jeans, super expensive for something so bad. I thought I was the problem but tell me why the next day my jeans didn't fit? idk how that happens but I didn't eat anything and they managed to shrink in the wash. I bought them bigger for the baggy affect, didn't last long because now they're only down to the start of my ankle, which makes them very cool during the winter weather. I really don't like them so I'd recommend buying second hand so you don't have to pay $100+ for something that you'll be disappointed with the next day.

I would give it no stars if I could

I would give it no stars if I could. I bought my husband a pair of jeans that where to big. I did not have the receipt however all tags were still attached. I figured they could look up my purchase with my C.C nope. I only wanted to do an exchange for correct size. Well that not allowed so I contacted the corporate office and put in a complaint because the girls at the Elizabethtown, Ky store was so rude and unhelpful. I will never shop there again( not that they care) My husband is now stuck with a pair of 50.00 jeans that don’t fit. I received an email earlier today from corporate that pretty much says sorry about your luck! Well alrighty then!!!! What a way to run a business I don’t want money back just the right size jean!

I bought Aed 170 for single peice of polo teashirt, but here the problem they are not providing even a carry bag. If it needed again Aed 3 I have to spend , this I felt not good finally I went out the shop by carrying by teshirt. It was very shameful from such a brand is not providing a single carry bag.

I’ve been shopping at American Eagle for years, but their customer service has really gone downhill. The staff was unhelpful and didn’t seem interested in resolving my issue. It’s disappointing to see such a big change from what used to be a positive experience

No Customer Support for Online Orders - Wrong Item Received

I ordered three shirts in size medium and received two in medium and one in large. When I tried to resolve this, I found there is no phone support. I received an SMS instructing me to start a chat, but no chat option was available. I also sent multiple emails and received no response.
Based on my experience, there is effectively no customer service for online orders in the UAE. The process was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional, and I would not recommend ordering online here.
I have ordered from American Eagle in the US before and found the service there to be far more reliable, even with international shipping.

Terrible customer service

Have bought many items from AE and most have been okay. However, customer service is appalling - had a pair of jeans that essentially fell apart after a few wears. Just got some shrugs. Will never buy from this store again.

You should seriously be ashamed of…

You should seriously be ashamed of yourself for not refunding money for a package that way stolen after I gave the door dash delivery driver exact instructions on where to put the package. Now I’m out work pants and almost $200 WTG American Eagle

Great, helpful customer service

I saw a sweater I liked on a mannequin.
I asked about it and Michelle was super helpful. She looked around the store and couldn’t find it. So, she took it off the mannequin for me! It fit perfectly and I bought it. Michelle was so friendly, looking around for me. I felt like an important customer which is always a nice feeling!’

Some fair tall guy forgot his name looked matured but not at all help ful i wonder whats wrong with these store guys just not ready to help would get the buy get free stuff but just because their attitute of not helping at all and running i did not buy anything.
I could give this store star.
Next time i go again and get this kind of service i will write a review again.

Im not sure why AE has low reviews

Im not sure why AE has low reviews. I came here expecting the reviews to be stellar as I love my AE jeans. I bought them 6 months ago and live in them. They are my favorite and I have 4 pair now. I haven't had to deal with customer service yet. This is why reviews are terrible. Hopefully I never have to. The sizes I bought fit perfectly and I love my jeans.

Be cautious when ordering and returning items. AE's refund process involves questionable practices. I've spent over a month (first order in November of 2025 and more in December) trying to get refunds, with numerous emails and calls resulting in nothing but rudeness, canned responses, and no correct amounts. They often offer e-credits instead of refunds, even with tags attached and returns made within a day, which violates consumer laws requiring refunds to be issued to the original payment method. They have never done this. I have 7 orders totaling hundreds of dollars, and less than a quarter has been credited since November 26. Phone calls result in lengthy hold times, with representatives checking in infrequently, only to say they can't find help or a manager after an hour. A month later, I still haven't received refunds for hundreds of dollars in returns. They are skilled at using deceptive accounting practices and issuing false refunds. I have orders indicating a refund, but the amount is incorrect, and no refund has been processed, amounting to hundreds of dollars.

They do not stand behind their quality

They do not stand behind their quality. I bought a whole bunch of underwear that all came unraveled after a handful of washes. I sent it back to them and they took about two months to only deny my case, stating they only accept items new with tags. So basically they don’t care about quality. They think they can hide behind a reputation previously built on quality and customer service but no longer hold to those values. Except if you read their consumer reviews, they seem to be rewriting their reputation as the public is catching on to their bait and switch tactics.
