Failure to Deliver or Tell the truth

I ordered a bespoke Pine Single Bed Frame at a cost of £324 paid in full on 17th March 2025 with a promised delivery date upfront of 4 weeks. I started enquiring as to progress 4 weeks later and again and again and again for the next 10 weeks only to be fobbed off each time with promised delivery dates that didn’t happen. I did get some apologies along the way but with a distinct lack of sincerity and more importantly action to address the issue. Recently I gave them, in writing, a deadline of 19th June for delivery (14 weeks after ordering) or I would cancel the order and request an immediate refund. On 19th June I had an SMS message stating that the bed would not be delivered that day and that a credit card refund had been processed and guess what……10 days later still NO refund !!!). I have now requested that the bank, through a Section 75 (“Failure to deliver goods paid for”) claim, recover my money from this disgraceful company. Affordable Furniture should read this review and take heed of their complete lack of customer care and good communication. However, if they dispute this truthful statement, backed up by evidence, then they are even less honest than they have been for the last 14 weeks. BE WARNED BEFORE YOU PART WITH YOUR MONEY!!!

The worst company to deal with

Went to this company in November 2023 to buy a table and four chairs. We chose them as they are a local company although they were more expensive than the major retailers. Had a chat with the manager (Karon) who told us that all the furniture was made locally and we could have everything before Christmas. Excellent. Everything was delivered about a week before Christmas but that’s where the trouble started. They delivered the wrong coloured seat pads (which were also marked) and the table was scratched. We pointed this out to the delivery drivers who said they would report back.

We ended up phoning the shop - they never answer but Karon did phone back after a couple of days. She told us to use the chairs and she we sort out a replacement but it would not be until after Christmas. We left it until a couple of weeks after Christmas and chased. Christmas had delayed things! Chased again - the supplier was waiting for stock from the manufacturer. Chased again - they were made in China and were somewhere in a container and had been delayed due to pirates attacking shipping on the route it was taking. By now Karin had stopped taking phone calls so we were corresponding by text. I did call into the shop to find out what the situation was but she became very defensive and abusive so I left - not wanting to get into a situation where she may accuse me of something.

During one of the few conversations she deigned to have I did ask for a full refund and she could collect the furniture. She point blank refused.

The months went by and we chased regularly and generally got a response after a few days. Each time there was a different excuse but eventually the boat did get to the UK. It then took an eternity for the seat pads to get through customs but this information was never volunteered- we had to pull it out of her like a rather painful tooth extraction. At some point they got to the supplier and then to the shop and finally the chairs were replaced on the 17th June 2024 - oh how we partied!

They have forgotten about the scratch on the table - never been mentioned. Who knows how long that will take!!

This is perhaps the worst company I have ever dealt with. I believe Karon is also a director and is probably the rudest and most untruthful person I have had to deal with.

Not once during the whole debacle did we get any kind of apology and every contact was initiated by us.

Please don’t use them.
