I only wanted a video doorbell. Nothing else. After a while advertising started crimping in. I couldn't even access my doorbell camera without watching an advert. Then after that was subscription. Mandatory subscription. Pay monthly. This is a con company. The mother company is called Eken. Chinese company. Avoid buying anything from this company.

I purchased 4 out door solar battery security cameras, and for a short time all worked well until the app was upgraded and adverts were introduced I have not been able to use any camera due to an advert being placed across the screens for payment to Cloud Storeage which I do not want or can afford.
I tried my spare new awit camera and that will not connect.
I have contacted their Service Dept and all that I get back is to reconfirm all the problem issues from different personnel.
If AWIT got there act together and dealt promptly with Customers problems and ensured adverts did not interfere with screens it could be a good product, but until sorted I would advise Not to purchase any wi FI cameras from AWIT.

Scam, nonstop ad. Forced Subscriptions. Don’t let you use the camera if you don’t pay fee. Totally scam!!

I’ve had this video doorbell for around 5 years and it wasnt the best back then but the service/app was free so couldn’t complain. Over the years it’s got progressively worse and now to the point it’s useless. App logs you out continuously, the doorbell takes about 45 seconds to give you a feed and by that time, there’s no point as the person who’s knocking could’ve left.

Now, I’ve come to go on my camera feed and it’s telling me that I need a subscription to view a live feed from own door! Don’t even bother the customer service, I sent them a question and it took them 3 months to respond to which the issue was resolved cos it was quicker to google it.

Furthermore, the quality isn’t great either, up close you’re talking decent HD but that’s on a good day, struggles to pick up anything of any detail around 10-15ft away.

Years ago I was recommending this as a cheap option, now, I’d stay clear.

Definitely filing in for the class action lawsuit coming against these people...complete scam company

Do NOT BUY from this company. After 2 1/2 years of using, They have blocked all access because I will NOT purchase cloud storage. They wil not answer any messages, very Unprofessional. If NO ONE BUYS THEIR PRODUCT MAYBE THEY WILL LEARN A A LESSON HERE.

Been using this Aiwit doorbell for over four years without the need for a subscription but now the doorbell is pretty much useless. unless you pay the £35 a year for the subscription service which I won’t do I feel like I’m being blackmailed.

AIWIT has blocked the live view and is requested a cloud subscription to allow it again. this do not respect the rules of international trade. We have to take a public action and sue this company in courts. Amazon & Ebay should also take action against selling such company product and take the lead in filing a lawsuit against this company that does not respect international trade laws

Now I have to pay for a live feed....what a joke! What's next? I bought just for the live feed as I do not have a window in my current situation. Aiawit should reimburse everyone they scammed. ASAP.

This company is ripping its own customers off. Do not understand any circumstance buy one of these doorbells. They tell you it’s free and it works for a while , then they tell you , you have to buy a service charge to keep it going. They used to restore you if you complain. Then wait a few months do it again and again. Eventually they just stop, making the camera unusable , it’s not going to protect your home , you can’t rely on it recording because they just cut it off when they feel like it. They have now stopped live viewing unless you pay! So if someone comes to your door you can’t even see. Totally worthless now. Scum company. Do not buy.

I originally bought the camera door bell as it was advertised as free to use. A few years back they started to charge you to view videos back. Today Aiwit have blocked you from viewing live video and speaking through the doorbell without a subscription. I’ll be closing my account and taking down what is now just a door bell.

As others have stated, this promised to be free to watch back videos which was the appeal to buy it. Now it’s locked even to see who is at my door unless I subscribe to a trial! Another customer you have lost I will buy another doorbell from a reputable company after writing this! Shame on you!

Had the doorbell camera for about 1 year now, all good, able to view, talk & listen to who's at the front door. 3 days ago after the app update you now have to subscribe for £35 a year to use this previously free function ....an absolute joke! I will go and buy another cheap doorbell camera which has this function for free.
Looking at recent reviews, Aiwit are going to lose a lot of customers.

2 years no problem today they locked cameras wanted you to subscribe to a 3 day trial not happening you just lost our business oh our family too is leaving you

Awit is now charging for subscriptions.

Even to look at who is at the door via video they know charge.

It was free the basic package. Now they charge for even having it on your wall.

Really poor brand, after a couple years using the door bell with lots of adds, now they have decided, that it is not enough..... a subscription must be in place not to store, but to operate the damn device, we own! Rubbish!
Needless to say it's going directly to the BIN - SCAMERS !

Purchased a 1080p Wi-Fi Security Camera which came with instructions to download the Aiwit App. Set up the camera and working fine until today when I couldn`t access the camera live feed.

Aiwit App requesting I download the 3 day free trial 😠

Reading other reviews it seems like a common problem. I purchased the camera about six months ago from an Ebay seller. Now off to contact the seller after reading the excellent review and suggestions by Loren G two days ago on 2nd February 2026 titled "Breaking the law (UK)".

Total waste of time!!!!
Starts off OK but now I cannot even access my cameras unless I pay a subscription!
NO customer service!!

Aiwit/Eken are a complete disgrace. Weeks of forced advertising to view the camera feed. In last week they have made the camera totally useless, you now have to purchase a subscription to view the live feed, the doorbell camera has no functionality whatsoever unless you sign up. AVOID this company they are a complete rip off.

Doorbell was free to use live feed for 2 years then this morning I stopped getting notifications so opened app to find everything is now behind a subscription paywall
