I can tell you if you've got to pay 1kr for this, don't! Worst service ever, I've sent messages to them that I get a reply after a month, and then another after 2 weeks and so on. They told me my status is back to a student 2 months ago, and last month they randomly sent me something that I don't qualify for getting money. Then I asked my status is back to a student right? After 2 weeks or so I hear no! and apparently they will charge me for all these months of being a member while a student.

Simply the best A-kasse for engineers.
Perfect service and always very helpful and very skilled.

I called them for an urgent enquiry. They just passed my call several times and at the end asked me to send a message through the portal! So I send them a message on 11th September and still waiting for an urgent answer!

Extremely poor customer service. Bad communication. They IT setup is very outdated and lousy. Can't believe how they are still in business.

I have had a very good experience with AKA. While there were some issues, these were always minor and very quickly resolved, even during the holiday season, a type of professionalism and reliability for which I am thankful. I recently also participated in one of their Talent Attractions, a concept where eligible candidates get to visit a hiring company, hear about their business and requirements from the candidates, but also get 10 minutes for a dialogue with the company leaders - a very good opportunity indeed. For this, I believe AKA deserves 5 stars.

I have to say I was surprised at the positive rating received by Akademikernes A-kasse. My experience with them has not been what you’d expect of a company with such a positive reputation.

The issue started when I called in asking for information on how to receive A-kasse during the forced closure of my company over the christmas holidays. I was informed that this would not be possible, something that I later found out was incorrect.

After talking to co-workers and mentioning the situation with my A-kasse they encouraged me to call again. During this phone call I was told that I was eligible for compensation during the christmas holiday.I fill out all the paperwork and send it to AKA.

A few weeks later I’m informed that I was not actually eligible as too much time had passed since christmas. The only reason so much time had passed is because I was originally misinformed.

To make matters worse, the way in which the appeal was handled was terrible. I’ve called them 7 times in the period of 2 months where I’ve been waiting for their decision on whether or not I should be paid and I have yet to have someone call me back.

To top things off. In the letter where they told me I’m not eligible they referred to a specific law paragraph. When I went to check on the actual paragraph I found out that they had left out a part of the paragraph extremely relevant to the case.

The pargraph they refered to: The part encompassed in two stars was left out.

My experience with AKA has been horrible right from the start. I'm usually not one to write horrible reviews, but my experience has left me frustrated and mortified several times.

1. I had to explain some rules for one of the members of the staff!! What's up with that??
2. I got different answers to the same question, based on which staff member I talked to!
3. It was at the very end of processing my (ledighedserklæring), that one of the staff members told me to submit a specific form, which NONE of the others at AKA told me about, in spite of the fact that I several times asked if everything was in order!

They are unprofessional and incapable, and I am joining another unemployment insurance fund as soon as possible!!

They certainly know the rules

But I find that they stick very strictly to paraphrasing rules and regulations and lack the ability to give constructive advice on issues that is diverging from the norm.

I really think that the approach should be to try and understand the situation at hand. Instead when I called in for consultation I was met with suspicion, which developed into a condescending attitude.

I get that there are rules, but please work out a better way to communicate with your paying members.

On a normal day would recommend AKA to anyone, but lately it seems that a lot of problems have caused their normal excellent service to become... lacking, to say the least.
I was on the verge of giving three stars instead, but since I am still hoping to have my latest issues with them resolved soon(although it has already been a week...) I will stick with four.

I recommend, but ask AKA to keep their high level of service.

Thrilled with my time at Akademikernes A-Kasse. Excellent support team, workshops, coffee, food, and fellow participants. It really helped me grow my business from an idea into a reality. Really encourage those with a strong idea, and a willingness to learn to take part in this program !

Got 2 months full 'dagpeng' and 4 months of supplyment 'dagpeng' with AKA during 2016-2017. Then they also helped me to transfer to my maternity leave. During the whole period, the staff at AKA were so helpful and friendly, and their website are very well functioning. I am very happy with this a-kasse company and I will continue to be their members.
As you can read, I am international in DK, and I had no problem communicating with them either. That's at least something, in DK.

I have only positive remarks for Akademikernes. Currently, I am enrolled in their 3 months Startup program which is being held in very modern facilities in the center of Copenhagen. The program is exceptional for new entrepreneurs and provides free consulting, meeting with specialists and very interesting workshops. A big thanks for this initiative and keep up with the great work :)
