I really wanted to mention some on special food I bought from me local but while I’m on I will say I’m going to avoid my local Aldi on Sunday it was like a nursery children screaming and running round not that I blame the store or the children it’s the parents who think they are giving right to let the do these things possible were brought up the same
Aldi shopper for years.
I have been an Aldi shopper for many years and saved a fortune. I was driven to Aldi after the implementation of self scan checkouts at Asda and Morrisons with few checkouts for more traditional shopper's.
My local Aldi provide an excellent range of produce and fast and polite checkouts staff.
Thee is the option to self scan but unless I am getting a staff discount I am not doing someone out of a job.
My only wish is that Aldi start petrol stations and fast charging points.
Great to see a company using local produce on its shelves.
Thank you.

I returned a mini greenhouse today to my Longridge store, and the manager's attitude was appalling. There was no apology for the faulty goods and because I did not have a receipt I had £4.99 returned to me. When I was surprised and mentioned it to the manager, she told me I was lucky that it was not 6 pence. We spend approximately £5,000 annually with you and feel let down by the only time we have had to return an item. Tom Leigh

Purchased a Hoisin Duck wrap on March 20, 2026 at Greenwich High Street, London SE10 that was 2 whole days gone its 'used by date'
When I wrote to head office to complain about my experience, they did not only ignored my letters, they denied ever receiving them - until I produced slips from Royal Mail delivery service.
That gives the impression that they DON'T take food safety (as per Food Safety Act 1990) serious.
Singled out for repeated bag checks, shouted at in front of my five-year-old son, and a policy that presumes customers are thieves
Incident at Aldi Anlaby Road, Hull on Sunday 10 May 2026, between approximately 14:30 and 14:45. The store assistant on the till was named K**.
I am a regular customer at this branch. On my previous visit K** has asked me to lift my shopping bag for inspection before she begins scanning. Today, expecting it again, in advance I lifted inverted shook it and set my empty grocery bag in front of her, to show it was empty, and placed it on the trolley.
However she being as expected even after bag shook she asked me to lift the bag. In response I said help yourself, she lifted and laughed at me, then i said calmly that she asks me to do this every single time, and asked whether there was an issue with my skin colour and asked her my this random check ends up at me every time? She laughed at it again, and then began shouting at me loudly enough for the entire store to hear. My five-year-old son was sat on trolley was visibly frightened.
The duty manager came over. Rather than de-escalating, he told me that everything the assistant had done was correct and that this was “how it should be.” He did not engage with my concerns about being singled out repeatedly, nor with the fact that a member of his staff had been shouting at a customer in front of a small child.
I have never seen K** ask any of the other customers in the queue around me to lift their bag in the same way. A bag check that is genuinely random does not fall on the same customer every visit. As a customer of Indian heritage, I cannot ignore that pattern.
There is also a wider question Aldi needs to answer. Where is the customer-facing policy that says shoppers must show the inside of an empty bag before paying? I have never seen it displayed anywhere in the store, not at the entrance, not at the till, not on any signage. A bag check is, in plain terms, a check for stolen goods. It treats every customer asked as a suspected thief by default. That is insulting on its own. When it is applied selectively to non-white customers while white customers pass through untouched, it stops being a security measure and becomes discrimination.
What made today unacceptable was not the check itself, I have always complied, but the laughing, the shouting on the shop floor, the fear it caused my child, a duty manager who chose to defend his colleague rather than listen, and a policy that treats paying customers as thieves and is enforced unevenly along colour lines.
I have submitted a formal complaint to Aldi head office. I have asked them to review CCTV not only of today’s incident but of K**’s recent shifts, to assess whether her bag-check requests fall disproportionately on non-white customers. I have also asked for written confirmation of Aldi’s actual bag-check policy and how it complies with the Equality Act 2010

They stole £5 from me
I had a problem wi the automated tills at aldi today, needed to break a £20, got a sarnie for £3, put the money in, only got £12 back.
I hit the help button, pointed out to the lassie that I'm short a £5 note, they go get the manager, who did a song and dance of stripping the cash dispenser to find the errant note.
He couldn't find it in the feed cartridge, so he dissappears into the back without another word.
Comes back a few minutes later and claims that he's reviewed the security footage, and he could clearly see me taking the tenner, the fiver, and the two coins out; I dispute that, saying I have no more memory of seeing a five pound note in my hands than my last draw of my vape, and I asked to see the footage to which he point blank refused, then told me to leave the store.
I suspect that the manager was at it, I did notice that he did not check the till properly and only focussed on one specific component rather than fully checking the machine, or consulting the display for any error messages, I did notice through all of this that it was still asking me to take my change.
While the place is in quite a rough area there was no excuse for the manager to treat me as if I was one of the more disreputable inhabitants of that place, felt as though I was being treated like a conman or a crook for asking for my missing money.
Might still shop at Aldi, but I won't be going back to that specific one.
Aldi Bexhill Road today
Aldi Bexhill Road today. Easy parking, plenty of spaces. Lots of fresh, veg and fruit. Got all my favourites except Carlos vegetable pizza, a family favourite, couldn't find it.
Isles nice and clear and (something I really appreciate) a sweet, smiley lady on the till. In and out in less than 30 mins. What more could you want. Well done Aldi, 👏
Amira Aldi Paignton 5* service
We went to Aldi Paignton whilst holidaying here and Amira was the most helpful staff member ive ever met in any supermarket.
My phone had died and had my vouchers on it .
My shopping had been put through and wed walked from Brixham .
Amira found the solution and was so polite and professional.
Not going again
I'm not a regular Aldi shopper but go in there now and then. However, I won't be bothering again. For a start, there are always pallets in the middle of the aisles which are already narrow to begin with. Another thing, they are constantly opening and closing checkouts. We are now opening till number 5, we are now closing till number 2, we are now opening till number 6. How hard can it be to keep three checkouts open continuously for God's sake. Also, staff talking to each other on headsets really annoys me. I've lost count of the amount of times I've turned round thinking they are talking to me. I find it bloody rude tbh. Lastly, the cashiers flinging your items through the checkout at 100mph sends my anxiety levels through the roof. You can keep your low prices, I'll be sticking to Tesco and Morrisons in future, a much more pleasant experience. Two stars because their red wine isn't bad to be fair

Aldi meat used to be great for making steak pie. In the last 9 month its terrible. Slow cooked for 9 hours and still like rubber. Thats 5% fat beef.
Thats 4 times now its been given to dog.
Debt know if they changed supplier but its truly awful.
Prices are creeping up also and now no cheaper than anywhere else.
I was shopping in aldi Whittlesey…
I was shopping in aldi Whittlesey branch today and oddly at the checkout the cashier put her hand inside my bag which was a canvas bag and pulled it open a bit. She was looking inside my bag. I have no idea why and I said I am sorry have do you think I haven't paid for something. It was my handbag and she should not have prised it open even slightly as it makes the customer feel awful. Of course she could see there was nothing in there except my own belongings. I was packing the other items in a carrier bag. This should not be happening without good reason as it makes the customer feel they arent trusted. I won't be shopping here again. It was a small thing but makes you feel awkward.

I bought wagyu diced beef to make a stew and it turn out to be a tasteless , tough , disappointing dish. I know how to cook, very well, so nothing to do with my skills everything to do with Aldi quality of products. Better shop somewhere else as the prices aren't much cheaper then other supermarkets anymore, but the quality is much lower, especially meat and fish. This so called discounts supermarkes....the only thing that is discount is the quality of most fresh products they sell! Shockingly bad , my food always taste good, not with Aldi meat though!
Only thing still worth buying there is toilet paper and wines on offer.
Also customers service is horrible, really really bad, rude, disrespectful, worst than any other business ever.
Boycott Aldi, for real!

I called in today (30/04/26) and saw the Cucina paff pastry biscuits. I thought I'd try them after checking there was no milk content, as I'm lactose intolerent.
Tried them, WOW, please don't stop selling these.
It's hard when you have intolerances, and when you find something that is nice, that you can actually enjoy, you keep buying.
Tip for Aldi; advertise as dairy free.
Discrimination against DISABLED!
I have just visited an Aldi store (Holyoake Ave, Blackpool FY2 0BQ) and had a confrontation with 2 staff members! I am absolutely fuming and utterly shocked at the level of discrimination and lack of respect from these 2 individuals. I am severely disabled with a twisted pelvis and spine. Being on my feet and walking any distance is EXTREMELY painful and can cause back spasms and falls.
I approached the bakery section and saw a bag of bagels in the middle of the isle. If I was physically able, I would have put them back on the shelf as a courtesy (as I am a good natured person). As I can't bend down, I pushed the bagels aside with my walking stick, so YOUR product wouldn't get trampled. Then instantly a female member of staff appeared, picked up the bagels and said to me with a right attitude "I'll get that for you then"! As if 'I' an unpaided member of public who is CLEARLY disabled should have picked it up? Utterly shocked at her attitude, I asked her "what her problem was"? She just walked off with her back to me and completely ignored me! As mentioned, due to my disability it causes great pain to walk. So I had to raise my voice as she had walked some distance and completely ignored me. After asking her 'what her problem was' a few times; Another member of staff decided to have an attitude with me! I guess he thought he was defending his incompetent co-worker, but in fact INFLAMED the situation! I said that I wasn't responsible for the bagels on the floor and was only trying to protect Aldi's product. At which point he said 'I' the disabled person in agony "didn't need to HIT the bagels with my walking stick" and '"should of walked over to them and told them"? SO A DISABLED PERSON IN ABSOLUTE AGONY, IS SUPPOSED TO WALK AROUND THE STORE AND INFORM THEM OF THEIR JOB? At this point I did swear at him as I couldn't believe what I was hearing? Just from me trying to HELP, I was being abused by 2 members of staff! He started shouting at me "He was going to kick me out of the store" for shouting? I only had to raise my voice because the first staff members insulted me and walked off; And the second staff members couldn't be bothered to walk over to me and just instead shouted back! He totally inflamed the situation... All because I tried to HELP? The store manager then intervened and told the 2nd member of staff to let it drop. Just for that member of staff to carry on accusing me of attacking runaway bagels and demanded that I should have come and told him? IT'S NOT MY JOB! I am a customer! I explained that it isn't my job to track down members of staff to do THEIR job for them. I went on to explain how being on my feet and walking is causing me severe agony. The ARROGANT moron told me if I can walk into the store with a walking stick, I can use my walking stick to track down members of staff! So no thanks for shoving a product aside to stop it getting damaged... then I am insulted by a member of staff for not putting the item back on the shelf for them... then the staff member walks off ignoring me and causing me to raise my voice... then another staff member accuses me of not coming to find them, whilst he is shouting down the isle threatening to kick me out... then proceeds to let me know my disability doesn't exclude me putting myself in more AGONY and doing their job for them! ...All because I tried to HELP Aldi! WOW!
Absolute superstars
Absolute superstars! Aldi Northfield Wanted the rattan garden furniture on today's offer. Staff brought it out to the car and were just so kind. Special thanks to Callum & Elliot. Its always a great place to shop!

Staff error with voucher and poor handling of the situation
I visited the Aldi branch for a small shop and had an e-gift voucher for the exact amount of my purchase (£7.39).
At the self-service checkout I was told I couldn’t use the voucher there and was directed to a staffed checkout. The staff member told me to go to “the Asian guy at the checkout,” which I found quite unprofessional.
At the checkout I was passed to a staff member named Elizabeth. She managed to retrieve the suspended transaction from the self-service till and scanned my voucher. However, after doing this she then said the voucher hadn’t worked.
She then called a colleague over and asked me to unpack all of my items — which had already effectively been paid for — so the transaction could be started again. By this point the voucher balance had already been deducted. Two minutes earlier it showed a balance of £7.39, and now it showed £0.
Because they could no longer retrieve the original transaction, I was told to start again and rescan the voucher. The entire problem appeared to stem from the transaction being handled incorrectly, yet the staff showed little concern about the mistake and instead suggested the issue was with my voucher.
What was most disappointing was the attitude. Rather than acknowledging a clear error in the transaction process, the situation was handled dismissively and the responsibility seemed to be pushed onto me.
It’s not a large amount of money, but the principle matters. Once I receive my refund, I will not be shopping at Aldi again. I have never encountered issues like this at Waitrose, Sainsbury's, or even Lidl. Staff should be properly trained on voucher processing and customer service so situations like this are handled professionally.
