I ordered the pencil cuff bracelet with gift wrapping from this company as an end-of-the-year school gift for a teacher. It was shipped swiftly, but the only thing that arrived was the gift packaging and no bracelet. I emailed customer service and nobody ever got back to me. As far as I’m concerned, this is stealing. If I don’t hear anything back in the next day or so I’m filing a fraud complaint with my bank.

I absolutely love my Alex and Ani…

I absolutely love my Alex and Ani bracelet! The quality is great — it feels sturdy but still lightweight and comfortable to wear every day. I get compliments on it all the time, and it pairs really well with other bracelets too. The design is beautiful and meaningful, and it hasn’t tarnished even with regular wear. Shipping was fast and the packaging was lovely. Definitely worth it — I’ll be buying more!

Damaged items, twice

Ordered from this company and it took over a month to get arrive to me. One of the items was damaged and I had to go through the refund process which was also delayed a week between each email they would reply to. Finally when I got an E gift card to buy a new item in replacement (which I didn’t want), it took another 4 weeks to get to me. This item (earrings) was also damaged. I complained about their packaging being terrible the first time because it’s just in an envelope, and it was the same the second time. I have ordered from this company a year before and only experienced long shipping delays. Now I will never buy from this company again. Absolutely trash products, quality is low, very inconsistent, very slow processing time, and poor customer service. Don’t give them your money.

I’m sad about this company

I’m sad about this company. I have literally been purchasing from them since day one when first sales were started. I have over 50 bracelets & multiple necklaces from over the years, and my 2 teenage daughters have quite a few pieces ! Anyway, I was always a happy customer but then the last couple years and very recently things have been going downhill for instance, my last purchase, the bracelets came in no box no paper and there was no card that usually has a little quote or an explanation on it. They were literally wrapped in plastic with scotch tape, and the bracelet didn’t even have a tag on it and it looked like it was worn, it was slightly scratched, so I contacted them and they immediately sent me out a new one, but I kind of felt like they acted like I was lying or it was my fault or I don’t know what they were trying to say, but the vibe was off, and I literally did unboxing and sent them the videos/pictures of the opening of the merchandise so it was all right there for them, clean and simple to see and obviously they thought so because they sent me a new one, but they’ve had to send me a couple replacements because of broken or tarnished and that’s just not the experience I used to have in the prior years now it’s a shame because they have these cute zodiac necklaces and I really want one but why should I make a purchase?

Horrible, incompetent order fulfillment, and they're crooks

I placed an order for an item a couple of months ago which was taking an unreasonable amount of time to arrive. After several email exchanges with their customer service, they finally told me the item was sold out and so they couldn't fill my order. I ordered the item just about as soon as it was introduced to their product line, so they should have had sufficient inventory at the time I placed my order. I did get a refund, but was disappointed that they could not fill an order they should have been able to fill.

Unfortunately, I saw something else I liked earlier this month and - I'll admit this was very foolish of me - I ordered it. Again, it was taking a long time to show up. I contacted customer service again, and they sent me a link showing the order on its way to Arizona- while I live in Brooklyn, New York! They claim that *I* indicated the shipping address as Arizona, which is ridiculous - and besides, my zip code is obviously a New York zip code so there is no way the item should have been sent to Arizona. Nice of them to blame me, the customer, for their mistake. I've asked for a refund and am waiting to see if they will issue one.

Finally learned my lesson - NEVER AGAIN will I ever order anything from this company.

EDIT: This is unbelievable. They claim they can't issue a refund until I return the items and they receive them back! How am I supposed to RETURN something I never receive because these idiots sent it to the wrong state? I've started a dispute with the credit card company. I hope I can get my $72 back! DON'T EVER TRY TO BUY ANYTHING FROM ALEX AND ANI!

Holding order until items are out of stock

I placed an order with ALEX + ANI on December 2, 2025. Payment was taken immediately, but the order was never shipped.

By December 16, 2025, the SHOP app still showed no updates, so I had to proactively reach out to customer service to ask about the status of my order. On December 17—15 days after ordering—I was informed that one item was out of stock. I confirmed that the remaining items should still be shipped.

Despite this, nothing was sent. No tracking information was ever provided, and communication remained inconsistent. In January, a second promotional/free item associated with the order was removed without any follow-up or explanation.

During this process, the company offered a $10 voucher as a courtesy. I advised that I did not wish to accept a voucher after having already spent a significant amount of money without receiving any of the purchased goods.

I also attempted to resolve this through Instagram. When I commented on their posts, I was directed to look for a DM (3 seperate times). I responded promptly (within 30 mins), but never received follow-up replies. Additionally, the disappearing message feature was enabled during these interactions. I turned this feature off, as it is concerning to communicate about an unresolved purchase without maintaining a record.

After weeks of unanswered emails, a friend contacted ALEX + ANI on my behalf on January 12, 2026. At that point, customer service stated they could not assist me because I had opened a credit card dispute—despite the fact that the order was already more than a month overdue and had never shipped.

Based on this experience, it is my belief that orders may be held until promotional items become unavailable and that customers are pushed toward prolonged delays that risk exceeding credit card dispute timelines. While I cannot speak to intent, the outcome was that I paid for an order that was never fulfilled and received no meaningful resolution.

This experience involved excessive delays, poor communication, removal of promotional items after purchase, and failure to deliver goods. I would not order from this company again.

Poor Quality & No Customer Service

This business does not honor their refund/exchange policy regarding damaged merchandise.

My order arrived with multiple defects, including hardened black residue on the jewelry, missing crystals, broken components, tarnishing, finish chipping, and a non-functional necklace slider.

I contacted customer support and provided photographs and detailed descriptions of the damage. I was required to send repeated emails—more than ten in total—resubmitting the same photos and item information without any resolution being offered. I believe the company uses AI Customer Support that places customers in an endless loop of submitting the requested information without receiving instructions to actually return the damaged product.

To date, the business has not honored a refund or exchange and has continued to request duplicate information instead of providing resolution.

Order on there site took 1 month to…

Order on there site took 1 month to arrive even from china i got faster shipping ! they removed a 55$ worth gift that was on my receipt and just for the cherry on top offer me a 5$ gift card for there site haha . There support center is full offer chat bot and after ordering on them site they fill your mail whit at least 2 spam/promo mail each day! In one word
They dont care about the customer they just want your moneyto sell you those cheap thin plated jewel! No wonder why they went bankrupt 2021

Horrible customer service

I ordered 2 bracelets as Christmas gifts! They came 1 was broken already, so I do not want to keep the other one! When trying to return, they want to charge me $8.00 for return of a damaged product! They have the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced!

Never my order followed by poor customer service

I placed an order on November 30th an have yet to receive the items I had intended to give as thoughtful Christmas gifts. No tracking updates and when I reached out they suggested I look outside for a missed package. Terrible customer service and unfortunate experience. The wide range of fun items was previously one of my favorite places to get unique pieces for myself and family members. Luckily I was able to order from Bauble Bar and received an alternative for one of the missing items from Alex and Ani. Save your time and money, and purchased from one of the dozens of other cute online boutiques. This one is a disappointment across all areas.

Alex and Ani has breached my trust

I've ordered from Alex and Ani in the past and my most recent experience has, by far, been the worse. I placed an order on November 3rd for 7 pieces of jewelry. They claim to ship within 3 business days so I was tracking my order and saw zero movement. I had to sign up for Shop to even track it and when I did I noticed that there was no update. They have no customer service number listed and the only way to get their attention is by usually writing something negative on their social media, unfortunately. I emailed their customer service on December 10th. On December 11th, I received a response that said that one item was out of stock, okay. That they'd cancelled this item and the rest are preparing for shipping. One December 16th, I messaged AGAIN because my items still hadn't shipped. There was no response. On December 20th, I received an email that my things had finally shipped and it was only 4 of the items. The one that I really wanted was, again, out of stock. This is infuriating because I placed this order over a month ago at this point. How did this happen? Then I received yet another email on the 22nd saying that the 4 items were preparing to ship. I have no idea what's going on over there but this is terrible service and feels scammy. This is sad, because I've ordered things from them previously that I enjoyed but this was way too much. It's currently December 23rd, exactly one month after my order and I have received none of my items.

Awful and shady

Awful. Poorly made products and even worse support. Defective items shipped and zero care from the company. Support is useless and rude

Update: they tried to get me to withdraw my chargeback by lying about how visa disputes work. They are beyond shady. Please everyone dispute this garbage so they actually learn something.

Scummy and Dishonest Company

Alex and Ani is a dishonest company that uses predatory sales tactics.

Orders go unprocessed for weeks at a time and agents claim the status does not allow them to cancel or refund, that is both dishonest and against their own TOS.

There is a big indication that manufacturing has been outsourced outside of the US as well, giving them for more freedom for inflated pricing markup.

Steer clear of these scumbags

Update: I see the scumbags are Alex and Ani tagged this review unprompted though I have nearly a dozen confirmed orders this is based off of. More dishonesty to save face 😉

15 days and no updates

Been 15 days so far since i ordered the polly pocket necklace. No estimated date for shipping or delivery. No update to shipping other than label created. Contacted customer service about estimated day. Got an automated response that they'd reply in 2 days. They did, said they'd check with the shipping people and would get back to me. Next email i get is a survey about their customer service (not including all the ads they send). Nothing about my order. Will give it a bit more time but so far ick and debating about disputing the charge.

This company has a serious customer…

This company has a serious customer service problem. The sad thing is they could save return customers if they were more proactive with their communication about delays and stock issues, but they wait 2 months and ignore the customers outreach (I tried 3 times) to leave customers pissed off. It would help to be able to talk to a human instead of getting automated messaging that they're receiving too many emails -- open up new channels of support & deflect volume to a bot so your humans can handle return customers who are pissed!! They clearly don't run quality assurance on customer convos. I won't purchase from them again and would not recommend it.

Beware: Tarnished Jewelry and Ignored Complaints

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience purchasing from Alex and Ani. I ordered two barrel-style bracelets online, one in remembrance of my wife's deceased brother and the other because she liked the style. My wife is a bracelet collector, and I have always bought her special pieces from Alex and Ani at their retail locations, but this will be the last time.

I've noticed a troubling trend with my recent online orders, especially since their retail stores have been permanently closed: the bracelets tarnish quickly, which is worse than costume jewelry. For her birthday, I expedited an order, paying extra for 3-5 day delivery. I placed the order two weeks in advance, but it arrived a staggering 27 days after her birthday! There was no warning about this delay, which was incredibly disappointing.

When my wife finally opened her gift, one bracelet had blemishes all over it, and neither would clasp shut properly. They constantly fell off her wrist. I reached out to Alex and Ani customer service twice via email, but all I’ve received is silence. They acknowledged my emails with an auto-response, stating someone would get back to me within 24-48 hours, but it’s now been over two weeks with no response.

It's clear that Alex and Ani is not committed to customer satisfaction. The closing of many of their retail stores should have been a warning sign. I advise anyone considering a purchase to save their money. Despite how cute their items may look online, they do not last, and if you encounter any issues, you will likely be ignored.

I placed an order for two items on…poor communication.

I placed an order for two items on August 15th for $144 it did say they would ship in September. I received one confirmation email in August then nothing. I wrote twice in September to confirm when shipment would be. No response. I opened a case in PayPal and suddenly they’re able to respond to my emails to say the item will ship late September or early October. And they’re stating it like October was even a consideration when I purchased. It never said anything about October on their website. Meanwhile they’re holding my money and aren’t offering a cancellation. I would not order from this company. Poor communication.
