Thinking clearly when you purchase - unclear sizing and rethink of returning

They said clearly those promotion discounted items only available for exchange or credit note. Now they only found out the price of the items went back to full price they would not let us exchange! What is this about? To steal our money from us and credit note will only valid for 3 months! BRAVO! They want you to spend more for return to get the right items and did not pay the postage fees which I guessed I wouldn't mind for the postage fees if they do exchange for us! Stupid excuses they make to steal the money. And their sizing is not standardise for all their boutiques. Less shop/stock available in store for you to try and yet you have to take risk to buy it online size is unclear. When comes to return you get nothing but pay more than you first paid.

Great customer service

I wouldn’t take notice of the other reviews which seem to be fake!

I buy Alice McCall all the time and have not had an issue. If I need to return for any reason my returns are processed quickly and the staff are always willing to help. There is a clear returns policy for those who bother to read it!

My deliveries arrive on time and also come with tracking so there shouldn’t be an issue receiving packages.

I will continue to support Australian designers. Thank you Alice McCall!

Terrible service from Alice McCall online

Purchased online and paid for shipping. Had to return because sizing is not consistent --even in similar collections--paid for shipping. No refund because they had a special 2 day offer of 20% off online purchases. So...now I have a credit and I am out $25 in shipping. Still, no credit note and a purchase date of October 5th and a return on the 9th. A lot of emails back and forth and no one letting me know when I will receive the refund...which means, I have to buy online again, and, pay for shipping. Who charges shipping these days?? ridiculous.

Amazing customer service; I made an online error when purchasing my last garment however Elyse @ Alice McCall rectified it immediately without fuss.

Worst customer service and deceitful…

Worst customer service and deceitful return policy.

I purchased an item for 30% off ..somewhere in the fine print said store credit only returns which Was not made clear and I definitely did not see. I wouldn’t of made this purchase otherwise. I tried calling many times on two numbers that either rang out or went to an answering machine. I have emailed and no response. Their return policy doesn’t align with consumer law. Beware!! Crooks!

There is something wrong with their…

There is something wrong with their return and exchange police. If you purchase a dress and never change your mind afterwards, that is ok. But things are never perfect. I bought a dress before Xmas and asked to exchange for another dress around Xmas time. The second dress was on sale when I submitted the exchange online and ended up $60 cheaper than the first piece. But the staff made it sound like I still owe them money as the second piece was not on special when I purchased the first piece???!!! So if I returned the dress for cash and purchased the second dress, the Xmas promotion code will apply? The second piece went off shelf after Xmas anyway. It seems that they don’t understand how to apply their promotion rate and when to adjust the price difference. After four emails backwards forwards, I just cannot be bothered to waste my time. All the best with their future business.

Appalling customer service

I ordered a top in January and received it with makeup stain. I took photos and emailed Alice McCall, and still have not received a response even after multiple emails (it's now mid Feb). Their customer service is appalling and if they don't get their act together, their business will surely go down the drain. There are so many other amazing Australian designers to support who provide great customer service.

BEWARE!!! Purchased Online but No Delivery

Purchased online order 28-12-2019 and paid $10 for express shipping. Emailed customer service on 3/1/2020 to check the order but not response until today. I haven’t received email from them stating they have processed the online order and shipped the item. So I called customer service today on 7/1/2020 no one answer but I left a message as per the automated voice mail. Sent message via the website as well. I’m waiting for a response immediately and request for a full refund.

They are absolutely the worst retailer…

They are absolutely the worst retailer out there, I wonder if the designer knows how bad their customer service Ally treats people. They dont let you speak to a manager. The day I received my package I receive an email that the entire site is 30% off. My dress was well within the return period and they refused an adjustment even though my size was still available and I could purchase it at the lower price. They said I can pay to ship it then also buy new one and that new one was final sale and also made it seem as if the one I ship I wouldnt receive a refund only credit. They were extremely rude, made me wait to hear back via email as they did not want to let me know via their online messaging. Stay far far away, whoever allows them to treat people like this is only hurting the company. I will never purchase anything from them again and I purchase a lot, they just lost a good customer.

Beware

Beware: Misleading sale!

I use to love this label but my most recent experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. Just because I applied a 20% discount code at the checkout I am not eligible for a refund! Please also note that this was a 20% of denim sale and the product I received wasn't even DENIM!! Strongly advise potential customers to not shop here!

Management team... please refund order AMCAU-64592.

Responsive and fast!

Fast shipping! Good quality products. Contacted customer service before, during and after my purchase and customer service was responsive and knowledgable. Had to return my first purchase --- return shipping is your responsibility, which is fine and advertised -- but my only suggestion is that I wish they would provide a prepaid label for deduction if used to return the product. Organizing the return yourself through USPS is a slight hassle as its international and you have to fill out some paperwork when sending back.

Be ware of pricing

I will always love the designs of this label. I probably buy at least 3-5 items from each collection. However, I no longer use the website simply because the prices listed on the international website are almost double what the actual price of the item is (in Australia and internationally) even though I get a vip discount .. its still almost double. I have already reported this issue to customer service on several occasions but nothing has been done about it, they have responded but never took this feedback on board. An item might cost 350 AUD and they will charge you 350 Euros on the international website, that is just crazy. The excuse I was given is that that is the price international retailers charge and they have to meet the same cost and that is just untrue. I now purchase their products from those international retailers and pay the same price that they charge the Australian customers. My advice to anyone who loves the brand as much as I do is to look for the item they love on other websites before paying.
Its a shame when the brand started off it was all about it being "high fashion at affordable prices" there are even some articles about this yet they have now chosen to turn their back on international customers.

Horrible fit, cheap design, worst customer service ever!

I am a standard size XS,EU36,US0,UK/AU6. First ordered The Best Dress in size 6. Was extremely disappointed with quality, cheap, made in China kind of dress you can buy in China Town for $15, definitely not worth $200+ I paid. They would not give me a refund, only exchange or store credit. I chose to exchange for Oh So Lovely Dress in size 6. The so called “Customer Service” would not provide me with a discount, since web site had extra 20% off with a discount code. Had to pay full price. Fabric on this dress is much better than previous one, but the design and fit are horrible. Too big under the arms, too tight across rib cage and absolutely huge on the hips, hanging like a garbage bag. Looks so ugly, no way I will ever be wearing it. This brand is ridiculously overpriced, quality is cheap and customer service is even cheaper.

Break ACCC laws by not offering refunds…

Break ACCC laws by not offering refunds even when you send a personal hand written note explaining the size 14 is too small for you as your pregnant and don’t want to be put through any more self esteem stress of trying on any others ...full price $450 saying I can use as credit online after explaining I don’t fit in the 14 so they obviously don not read emails ...

online customer service not personable at all lodging complaint with ACCC and never shopping again due to this which is upsetting as been buying stuff for years but this has turned me off so much

BEWARE

BEWARE. Shopping for the first time with Alice McCALL has left me with a sour taste in my mouth due to them refusing to refund me, resulting in close to $600 in store credit that I do not want. The online store does not do refunds and only offer you store credit and return at your own cost. They bury the non refund in their terms and conditions which is against consumer law which states it needs to be prominently displayed at the point of purchase. When I went out of my way to try to return the items at their flagship store on Chapel St I was told that the brick and mortar stores have nothing to do with the online boutique and thus as I had purchased the items online I could only process the return online. I was informed by the store person I could refund the items online, only to be met with a rude shock when I went on the website and found out this was not the case. A rigid online chat person attempted to explain to me that the brick and mortar shops and online boutique have different policies and I couldn’t listen to what I was told by the store assistant. The lack of professionalism from a store that charges such exorbitant prices boggles the mind. I am complaining to the ombudsman and I have turned several of my friends off potential purchases. A thoroughly disappointing experience.

Twice now they have charged me…

Twice now they have charged me substantially more because they’ve taken payment (without my consent) in USD. The first time to their credit this was fixed smoothly and quickly (still waiting on second one). It’s just so frustrating buying off their website - last time I put in my address but it auto-reverted back to another address and I had to go through all this drama to get the items. Then I guess because of my vpn they keep charging me usd. Once it took 10 days to get a delivery as they went through a courier who kept trying to deliver it to my work place after 5pm. After all this I tried on the dress I ordered online and it’s way shorter than in the images on the site but they don’t do refunds! On sale items! After all this I just want my money back it’s been so stressful. I didn’t know there was no refunds it didn’t say anywhere - I’m just crushed. All my friends and I who shop here are going to have to decide whether it’s worth the hassle anymore. They should look after their customers by doing refunds I’ve always been impressed with MYER/Witchery/ David Jones for their handling of refunds and I never even knew not everyone did that. Heart broken.

I felt cheated with the confusing currency on their website.

First time purchasing their product from their official website. I was very excited with their promotion and so i decided to get 2 pieces of clothing. Knowing that the brand is an Australian brand, i guess many will think that the pricing is in Australian Dollar but i was shocked to know it is actually in American Dollar.

I've purchased a couple of products from Australia and this problem never happen to me until today. When i tried to check on their Terms and Conditions, there were no "All products & services displayed within the ______ site are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.". Alice McCall expected me to know they are an Australian Brand that is charging an American dollar. How would a non australian know that the pricing is automatically changed to USD if the system detected shipping address is to Singapore? They charged me from USD to AUD to SGD. That's really "Confusing".

If they understood how i feel, they should change their website with better detail on currency because most website these days will tell you the currency if its international address.

Alice McCall needs to make things clearer with their online boutique because if this is my first time shopping with you, it could be my last too.
