Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 30 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complained about receiving unexpected and expensive fines long after their original visits, often accompanied by intimidating debt collection letters demanding even higher amounts. Consumers consistently felt trapped by rigid appeal processes and unhelpful responses from the company when trying to resolve these disputes. However, some people mentioned that despite having clearly paid for their parking tickets or displaying valid permits, they still received unwarranted penalty notices. A few other people also felt that confusing rules, broken equipment, and unaccommodating grace periods made avoiding these frustrating charges nearly impossible during their trips.

Racketeering practices from Alliance parking

Alliance parking is running a business making money from holiday makers overstaying their parking. They operate a zero tolerance service that causing misery to thousands of holiday makers. Councils should think again if this is a good idea considering the long term implications. I encourage you to voice your opinion directly to the owner of alliance parking. Contact details are below.

Same old same old from this scam…

Same old same old from this scam company. Bought ticket in poorly lit Looe carpark. And yes stupidly placed ticket upside down on windy night. Still have ticket but cleverly written wording states displayed properly or fined. Leaves a very bitter taste as was only there to do a charity gig. Have I appealed ? What's the point? Very damaging company for local trade.

What a bunch of scum

Firstly we realised we were in a carpark that as soon as the camera picks you up you will be charged so even if you come in to look at the tarriffs you will be charged so you have no choice but to stay.
And then of course the two machines were not working, form what I have seen this is a common occurrance. So you are forced to use JustPay, things get even worse!!. At Polzeath they only give you two options which do not match the published tarriffs from Alliance. I am not sure this is legal, to publish a figure to entice people in but then not have it available but they don'y get care as long as they continue to make a shed load of ,money.. And Justpay say its nothing to do with them as the fee they charge is set by Alliance and is not representative of the published tarriff

I've also been scammed by Alliance Parking. I hope that any business considering outsourcing to them reads all the reviews about problems caused by this outfit. Any coffee shop etc who uses this firm will undoubtedly lose goodwill and revenue.

Terrible, just avoid!

As many others have said, an absolutely terrible company. Charged £100 for a 13 minute over stay at Polzeath. Lesson learned - I will be avoiding using any car park run by these sharks in future

Biggest disgrace I have ever seen

Biggest disgrace I have ever seen. Took the wrong turning so turned around in the car park then received a £60 charge a few days later. Was going to appeal but after seeing all the reviews I thought there was no point. Cheers then

SCAMMERS! Horrible company

Looking at all these reviews is making me so angry! We paid to park at Daymer Bay on New Years Day (should be exempt on bank hol… but we accepted it was a tourist car park and paid) I have the proof of payment on my bank statement and also the ticket (although water damaged you can still see the date) and yet still these scammers have insisted we didn’t pay to park. Don’t know what to do now, feel angry enough to appeal again. Total con!! They allege our reg was not entered. Our reg is stupidly easy and I am convinced I entered it correctly. I used the machine deliberately instead of just park as my mobile reception was dodgy. Furious. How are this company allowed to operate! Are they being investigated or are enough people paying the £60 to make this scam worthy to continue? Disgusting.

We parked in Milford Haven Quay

We parked in Milford Haven Quay. The car park was empty due to it being a foul night. Reportedly our back wheel was over the white line of the box.
These type of companies are the scum of the earth and the appeal process is a joke! I am writing to the CEO of Milford Port Authorities to let them know the type of company they sub contract parking to! If they wish to promote tourism to the area think again !!

On a dull winter’s day I drove my blue badge holding husband into an empty Polzeath car park. We were there for 11mins 29secs ! While I went to see if there was a suitable accessible coffee shop within reach. There wasn’t so we moved on. Welcome to Cornwall !
Such sweet memories of a big rip off ! Beware !

Absolute con artists

Absolute con artists. We parked in Padstow Harbour Car Park over New Year paying for 4 days car parking entering our vehicle registration into their machine and displaying our ticket slipped into the dashboard on the drivers side. A few days after arriving back we received a PCN advising us that as we hadn’t displayed a valid ticket we were being fined. The picture provided was blurry as the windscreen was misted over but I could see where the ticket was, their supporting evidence on appeal showed a close up of the passenger side of the dashboard but not of the drivers. Fortunately still had the ticket so did a reconstruction and sent this off to them - but the appeal has been declined. The van hadn’t moved since we initially paid for parking so had clearly been checked on several occasions. These people are rip off con merchants who have got you by the short and curlies - they’ve reduced the fine to £20 knowing full well I’m not going to risk an appeal to the IAS because if that failed I’d have to pay £100. What a complete farce. In future I’ll be photographing my placement of parking tickets - I’m not being conned again.

One of our drivers had to deliver to a resident within a residential area controlled my alliance parking. Staying for less than 5 minutes in a resident carpark while making a delivery, wound up paying these scammers a ridiculous amount. After a discussion with a proper parking warden, one that works for the council and can issue real fines, states that on double yellow lines, there’s a period of around 5 minutes for delivery drivers in out local authority.

Disgusting and immoral

Disgusting and immoral. Wish there was something that people could do to stop these scammers. I paid cash for an hours parking and left within the hour. They are saying we didn’t have a ticket, which like everyone we didn’t keep so no evidence. There’s even photo evidence of getting out of the car at Daymer bay to go to the machine. Please everyone keep your tickets or pay by card to prove it. Absolutely disgusting company.

I think they are crooks as my wife paid…

I think they are crooks as my wife paid for two hours car parking on 5 November 2022 and received a receipt which we put in the window.

Received a parking charge notice on 5 December 2022 showing that we arrived at 10.55 and left at
12.15 which was correct.

The only trouble is I no longer have the ticket to prove we had paid.

My wife has checked her statements and can't find it going through so I think they may deliberately not collect the payment so that they can issue a fine.

I think that I will write to driver and licensing Agency (DVLA) data office to try and get them banned from having access to the DVLA data.

If everyone caught out by these unjust fines writes to the DVLA. AP Alliance parking might get banned from access to DVLA Data.

Awful Alliance Parking experiences Cornwall

They must be one of the meanest and least lenient parking companies I have yet to come across. Overstayed 30 minute parking at Polzeath car park, Cornwall by 4 minutes due to factors outside my control and absolutely no mercy. As mentioned by others the clock starts when the car enters the car park and exits, so you need to be very sure to prepare to leave well before the end of your parking period. Likewise had another experience at the same car park where we did not purchase a ticket for 12 minutes after entering the car park due to 1 machine being faulty and another glitching so the queue to buy tickets was slow. Ended up downloading an app to then pay and because it took 12 minutes I got a ticket and no leniency on appeal. Its all automatic numberplate recognition and no human mercy on appeal.
