Aluni.net really showed themselves as a great support during my Erasmus stay in Madrid. Accomodation was the same as advertised, and the company served as a safe third party for everything to go well between the resident and the landlord.

Great experience because it was able to connect me with a fairly priced apartment in a very good area. Fees were pretty low and I had a good experience.

my experience with aluni was really good from beginning till the end. They helped me a lot for everything and the room was available it was the same as they show in pictures. It was super clean and they care a lot for every details.

Clean and safe facilities, near public transportation and restaurants!

Made finding an apartment, payments, and getting back my deposit easy. I also participated in 2 of their weekend events and had a great time. There are many housing scams in Madrid, and the small fee for Aluni is worth the security. No problems getting my deposit back either.

Very truthful and reliable and they look after their students! I have heard horror stories after studying abroad from my own peers because they did not work with Aluni. I am thankful I chose them.

Helpful staff, a great apartment, good website

I rented a room through Aluni for my semester abroad in Madrid, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

First of all, the security deposit has not been returned, even though I handed over the apartment in proper condition. More than a month has passed, and I’ve still received nothing. I’ve contacted them multiple times without a clear answer, and I’m now being forced to hire a lawyer to take legal action.

Aluni also charges fees for the smallest issues. For example, the main entrance door on the ground floor couldn’t be opened with the key, so if no one was inside the flat, you simply couldn’t get in. This was never resolved, yet the apartment was still advertised as fully functional.

The furnishings were not as shown in the pictures. The room was noticeably smaller, and the furniture was different and older.

On top of that, you’re randomly placed in a shared flat with other students – in my case, people who had no respect for shared spaces and lived in filth. There was no privacy or comfort at all.

I strongly advise against using Aluni, whether you’re an Erasmus student or renting for any other reason. Communication is superficial, problems are ignored, and in the end, you’re left paying for issues that are not your fault.

For the most part, Aluni was a great mediator and was accommodating when there were issues in the flat. However, sometimes response times were delayed, but after several follow-ups, the problem would be resolved. However, in my specific flat, there was an issue with the AC that the technician could've fixed. Aluni never fixed it. Myself, plus another flatmate couldn't sleep a single night for the last month we were there because Aluni refused to help and they refused to give us a reduction in rent.
