…Faulty Lorus watch

I returned a Lorus watch to Angus & Coote after having purchased it 5 weeks prior. The band had split and fell off the watch. It was returned to Seiko for repairs although I felt as it was so new and faulty I should have been given a refund or credit. However I was told the watch would be returned to Seiko to be repaired. I went to collect it today and it came back in the same condition and now has to be returned again.Details of receipt Region 40, Store 171 SKU 5059163.

Overpriced and poor quality

They have overpriced, poor quality jewellery. The customer service is very poor. I spent nearly $600 on a pair of earrings and after wearing them half a dozen times the stone fell out. They said that i should throw them away and buy another pair for $650. I would never shop with them again.

Watergardens store has the worst…

Watergardens store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I purchased a diamond ring and had it sent away to be resized. After 7 weeks and inquiring about it 3 times I. Store I was finally told they couldn’t resize it because it was a an end of stock item. They then told me they can resize it for a further $200 which is ridiculous because they offer resizing for free up to the letter R. The manager advised me they couldn’t do anything else apart from give me my deposit. At no stage did they ring me to advise me the ring wasn’t going to be resized. After the third attempt at finding out what was the issue they finally called head office, still they didn’t give me a satisfactory outcome. I’m not a happy customer. I will never purchase anything from them again. I also had another issue one month prior with a gold chain priced at a different price the day before then when I went back the next day for the chain that was being held for me they couldn’t honour the price that was labeled on the chain. They couldn’t even find the chain. Unfortunately I paid extra and purchased another chain.

Worst experience at the Angus & Coote Knox store… Jenni the store manager is abusive and rude as anything!

Worst experience at the Angus & Coote Knox store. The store manager Jenni was just horrible! She was incredibly rude, argumentative and had a very bad attitude from the moment I walked in and she would not listen, spoke over me and she ended up storming off and swearing under her breath! Leaving me standing there at the counter in complete shock! She refused to help me and just continued to blame me and I can't get over how rude and aggressive she was, even to my 7 year old son who was so overwhelmed by the altercation that he burst into tears! Jenni is an absolute disgrace and needs to learn to keep her cool, she is obviously too old to work in customer service and she just loses her temper and raises her voice and gets abusive, her attitude is just disgusting. Even the other poor young girl working there was just looking over in complete shock at the way Jenni was speaking to me and my son! She needs to retire or get a new job because you just can't treat people the way she treated me! She should be ashamed of herself! I purchase a lot of my jewellery from your store, so does my mother and my sister was planning on getting her engagement ring from there in a few weeks but will definitely not be now! I will never step foot in Angus and Coote again, and neither will my family. I will be telling all my friends to avoid your store also. As for Jenni - you are a horrible, mean woman with a chip on your shoulder and she should be made to apologise for her behaviour at the very least. Even the lady at Knox information desk was disgusted as she is just outside the store and heard Jenni yelling and carrying on as I walked out! And she came over to apologise and will be putting in a complaint too. I've also seen other reviews with many people complaining they had similar experiences with Jenni, so I'm not the only one who has suffered the wrath of this awful woman! Being the store manager she thinks she can just intimidate anyone and everyone and something has to be done, or you'll end up with no customers. Such a terrible experience and I honestly can't believe her behaviour is tolerated. The funny part is, I went across to Prouds afterwards and they fixed the kinks in my necklace even though it was from Angus and Coote, and were so incredibly nice and helpful, so if Jenni just stopped being rude and actually tried to help it would have been a different story! The necklace was only 2 weeks old so by telling me it was my fault and refusing to take any accountability and telling me that 'customers always think they are right but are usually wrong' was not helpful, and when I said I will be complaining to head office she laughed in my face and said 'good, go ahead, be my guest!' What store manager says that to a customer? I wish I'd purchased from Prouds instead. To buy a $600 necklace and be treated that way is a joke. Never again!

Joondalup Store WA

Joondalup Store WA
My husband and I were looking for our wedding rings together, we were first served by staff member - Marcia, she was lovely, very helpful and patient. We got a few ideas, and went to look in other stores, we came back and we were served by Marcia again, then the manager (I assume) Becky? I’m pretty sure was her name, came over to help. She was so arrogant and rude, a very awful lady.
She treated staff with complete disrespect and was even so rude to us. I felt very sorry for the staff, the way she spoke to them and humiliated them was disgusting.
The wedding ring I wanted was in that store, but because of this experience, we ended up purchasing from Micheal Hill that day, where the staff were lovely and gave us a really good price even!!
I will never step foot in that store again, let alone any Angus and Coote.

I purchased a LORUS watch on 17/12/2024

I purchased a LORUS on 17/12/2024 - after four visits to the Glendale store and getting the run around, I have worn this watch for 2 weeks and it stopped. I took the watch to the Glendale store and was told they would send the watch away. This was on the 27/4/2025, I got a text that the watch was fixed on the 1/6/2025 - over a month - I asked the sales assist why so long for just battery change -I was told that in Covid some repairs told 4 months. My response was - its not Covid now, than another sales person appeared and said that sometimes items are just lemons. I asked for the address to make a complaint, the first sales assist didn't know - it makes me wonder were they sent the watch. As I walked out of the store - the second sales assist she had dark hair, said loudly HAVE A NICE DAY WHAT'S LEFT - then the two sales assist started laughing. Both sales assist need more training in how to deal with unhappy customers - I wasn't rude I was softly spoken - actually both women are in the wrong jobs. I am in retail and wouldn't have these women on my payroll dealing with customers. Putting one star is very generous as I would have put a minus.

MAJOR ALERT for Jewellery store chain - Angus and Coote

MAJOR ALERT for Jewellery store chain Angus and Coote. I am not happy that I have to give this company one star! They deserve none. I purchased an engagement ring (which doubles as my wedding ring) and have had to return the ring 4 x due to the diamonds falling out. [3 x it has been returned to Burwood NSW and 1 x Parramatta (the third time)]. When the 4th diamond fell out, I returned to Burwood saying I wanted a refund. The diamonds have fallen out over the time frame of 2 years. Each time the ring was in repair, I was without it for three weeks approx. When I went the fourth time to Burwood, I said that I do not want it fixed I want my money back. [Note: After the diamond fell out the second time, the shop person told me they gave me a new ring]. So, the issue must be the design and the manufacturer. In emails with the main office of Angus and Coote they eventually said they would give me a store credit for Prouds, Angus and Coote, or Michael Hill. I thought this didn't sound right. How can they give credit to another store if they are not somehow in partnership with them? I chose Angus n Coote over Prouds and Michael Hill in the first place for different reasons, especially because I loved this ring. I then searched for reviews for Angus and Coote / and Michael Hill (as I was weakening regarding the voucher) and there are so many reviews with similar stories where diamonds and stones have fallen out of rings and people are disgusted with both stores. I contacted Fair Trading. I have waited quite a few weeks as they are pretty busy and today I had a call. I told the lady my story. She rang the store, and now I am even more disgusted as Burwood said that this was only the second time I had returned the ring. Burwood knows how many times I have been there and to Parramatta. I asked Fair Trading what do I do? I got pretty upset. She said Fair Trading is independent, so she can't say either way. She said I would have to go to the Tribunal to take it further. I assume that Angus n Coote knows this will happen, and they anticipate people won't go to the tribunal. What I want to say here is, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO ANGUS AND COOTE FOR A RING WITH A STONE OR DIAMONDS IN IT. Please do a review check. IF/WHEN THERE IS ANY ISSUE WITH THE RING, YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK OR VERY LITTLE CHANCE. I ALSO suggest that if you have had OR know of someone who has had a similar issue or circumstance - PLEASE CONTACT FAIR TRADING so they can make a note. She said that if quite a few issues arise, they will have to investigate the company, which I say needs to be done already. On another note, how can I trust the appraising jeweller? He will not be independent. The jeweller who checked it said that I must have knocked it or dropped the ring - what sort of engagement ring product, if normal wear, is deemed the purchaser's fault - I do not ever remember dropping my ring, and if I had, there is carpet everywhere at home or where I work. I work in an office typing, I do not wear it at home, and I do not play sports or the like. If the ring can not hold up to normal wear and handwashing, what sort of manufactured product is it? Honestly, please do not trust them. Initially, when I rang to follow up on the request for the refund, as it was taking a while, I said - just to let you know I want a refund - the shop person said, 'We are honest, and our jeweller is honest' - why would she need to do that? I was only saying, 'Please note, I don't want my ring back - (because I told Parramatta the same, but they just fixed it). Now I understand why. I would never purchase from them ever again and warn anyone, especially any bride-to-be, to look elsewhere for your engagement ring.
