After seeing the queue at The Royal Cornish Show

After seeing the queue at The Royal Cornish Show, we thought we would try ordering online. We received 10 so-called Cheese and Onion Pasties, I thought they had sent the wrong ones I phoned I was told that they use very mild cheese I said that it was so mild I could taste it. Will not be ordering again

Our favourite pasties

Our favourite pasties. We first came into contact with them in a shop in Falmouth and have been fans ever since. As vegetarians we appreciate the choice of both a Cheese and Vegan pasty, still can't decide which is my favourite. We have ordered them for delivery back home on a couple of occasions and have been pleased with both the service and the taste (glad they use DPD, the best delivery service, offering a one hour delivery slot). Delicious 😋

Disappointed

Heard good things about Ann's at The Lizard, but sadly we were disappointed. I didn't know you could cook pasties 'al dente', but apparently you can! All the veg was undercooked, and I think the guy who put the pepper in them must have had the day off. Won't be rushing back.

Don’t eat here unless you want to be violently sick for 3 days!

Family of 5. 3 of us Ordered the meat pasties. Tasted a little weird but we just thought it was the herbs the used. All three that had the meat pasties developed upset tummies. Took my dad 3 days to recover fully. Will never eat there again. Called them but they arrogantly could not care less. Disgusting.

Used to be amazing before they…

Used to be amazing before they expanded. Used to buy them at little house in lizard and were so good. Now they are oversalted, little pepper and have little to no beef in. Tried last year and today, today equally poor. Lost sight of what made them good for volume of sales and profit.

Outstanding hard work under pressure.

This was a busier day than normal, mainly owing to the adjacent classic car show. Despite there being a constant queue to the entrance the staff coped exceptionally well. We purchased our pasties and sat opposite the serving area. I've never seen anything like it. How those girls coped under that pressure I'll never know. Brilliant work ethic. Well done all concerned. And the pasties?....Meat in abundance....Better than others, especially Warrens.

Burnt substandard pastys

We have been visiting the Lizard for 30 plus years &
since Ann's Pastys opened we even do a detour on the way home from The Isles Of Scilly to The Lizard to stock up with party's.
Alas not any more.
The day after out last visit on 27th July we had one each Unfortunately we had to throw them away. The pastry was hard to the point the whole bottom was burnt.
Tried another two today and they were the same.
Unless we here to the contrary our visits will stop.
Even pop

Check your pasty before biting into it

I ordered a cheese pasty from the shop in the Lizard, checked on the bag there was a tick next to cheese confirming this, however I was horrified to bite into it and there was meat in it. returned to shop gave me another confirming this definitely was a cheese, lukewarm overcooked and dried up, didn't eat. unhappy and wont go there again.

From....

....ordering to delivery, things went well. However, the star of the show, the pasties were very poor. Dry, tough stringy steak and unappealing pastry. Will go to Greggs next time. That said, have recently ordered from another pasties-on-line site. Watch this space.

Barely warm, too salty with soggy pastry

In the past Anns pasties have been brilliant, we'd head for the Lizard shop as soon as we arrived and have many during our holidays, but this year the first one was very very salty and slightly burnt on the bottom, we thought just an "off day", the second was just about as good as we expected, but the ones we had for lunch today were awful, very salty again and barely warm. with soggy pastry, obviously been out of the oven too long. The young girl in the shop felt several before giving me these and I'm sure she knew they weren't hot enough but decided to offload them on me. Bad move, you just lost a customer who has been coming for years and years and recommended you to loads of people, now I'm never buying from you again , I'll be telling others how bad this was and you get this bad review - really would have been cheaper to discard those pasties and sell me some nice hot ones wouldn't it !

Online pasties - awful - save your money!

Unfortunately I can only agree with the previous reviews. We ordered a number of pasties online having seen them on a TV programme. However they were extremely disappointing. My Cornish husband was appalled. Meat content was 3/4 small pieces and these were mostly gristle. The rest was possibly onion and potato? but who knows as it was totally tasteless and bland. Will never buy again. Not that keen on Ginsters but have to say Ginsters are 100 times better. These were not cheap so don't waste your money.

Awful, food and service terrible - Avoid

Had the misfortune of taking the family to the lizard shop. We were looking to try traditional Cornish pasties in a welcoming environment.

Selection was awful we all had to have a medium steak pasty as everything was apparently sold out. These were over priced and meat content lacking, stuffed with potato, parsnips and onion. They were also slightly burnt on the bottom - 2 of our party were unable to eat them.

The place was run by teenagers all chatting in the kitchen. Tables were a disgrace, dirty and sticky, totally un-inviting. I’m surprised locals allow it - never, ever again

Had these pasties in 2021 and they were…

Had these pasties in 2021 and they were pretty good. Bought a few to bring home this time and they were awful. Waste of an hours cooking in the oven. 4 pieces of tough meat and hard potato. Totally tasteless. I usually buy my pasties from a butchers in Yorkshire and they are wonderful. Full of flavour tender and half the price. Cornwall needs to up its game if this represents a Cornish pasty

After hearing good things about Ann's…

After hearing good things about Ann's pasties I thought I try one as I was just up the road from the Helston shop. It was quite a disappointment, the pastry had a hard crust on the bottom but wasn't fully cooked on the inside, the top pastry was so thin that it split open on the first bite, and the contents fell out. The taste wasn't quite right either, not unpleasant, but not like a good pasty should taste. Sorry guys but you should check your product more often.
